So how is the learning going? 😊
Hi Octavia. Wow, so happy to hear these videos have helped you and for something so important. Thanks for watching and the feedback :)
I go to school where 90% of the learners are Xhosa (or so I think, I don't speak to everyone but everyone else seems to be able to mingle) so I'm also trying to break the language barrier. They do speak english but prefer not to so im always left out :) Thanks for your lessons!
I'm here for the same reason
This is really great for us English speakers in the Eastern Cape
I took isiXhosa in junior school and stopped in high school. I always regretted stopping so I've been trying to pick it up again, thank you for this video
Same
Awesome😄👍🏾
Hi Kaitlin. Happy you’re starting up again with IsiXhosa and all the best with your learning .🤩 I am now posting every Wednesday so be on the lookout for those new lessons 🙂
Thank you so much for these lessons. I grew up in Kwa Zulu Natal and learned a bit of Zulu. Now living in Western Cape has made me realize how important the Xhosa language is for me to communicate with the beautiful people around here. I'm amazed how much the locals appreciate me trying to show respect to the Xhosa nation and I want to be able to reach out to them. I've got a long way to go as so far I only know 4 words of greeting and getting older ( 78) doesn't help. But I will persevere with the help of Khanyi who is so dedicated to making this world a better place. God bless you.
Hello there ! Aah, I'm so happy to read your comment. I'm glad you're making connections to Xhosa speaking people. And it doesn't matter how few words you know, its still great you are making the effort. Thank you!
Xhosa language is a great language to learn. It may take time but I will get it. You will never know I may meet a beautiful Christian woman who can speak Xhosa. In fact, I'm learning French also. Thank you for this learning experience.

This is great, Khanyi! I always wanted to learn Xhosa, and now I can do it at my own pace.
I have been eager to learn IsiXhosa for such a long time now. Im so glad I came across your channel. Im going to have to practice and put in effort to remember these words and phrases. Eventually it will all stick in my head. Your pronounciation is amazing. I love it. Keep up the good work.
Yes and No in Xhosa sound similar to Yes and No in Turksih. Ewe/Evet. Hayi/Hayir.
Turkey is so beautiful in pictures, I'd love to visit. Good to know there are some similarities.
Nice 😍

Hello there! Aah, I'm so happy you're learning from my channel😀 Thanks for the positive feedback.
Thank you so much, I grew up in exile and now I am in South Africa and I find my language very difficult to speak.
I try to learn Xhosa from my colleagues but often forget the words, especially if I don’t know the spelling. Maybe I can impress them after watching this video! Thank you for this lesson.
It got easier for me once I figured out some of the longer words were actually sentences.
@@peepla7 thank you for this helpful observation
You're an AMAZING teacher!!!
Omg I had no idea there was so much youtube channel about this language.
I heard by pure coincidence a song in Isixhosa and I was like "wow that s beautiful, gotta learn that". 😊
Please come with another episode of 100 words and also how to use grammer build sentences.
This is lovely....You are good.
I am a former Xhosa teacher, studied it at a teacher's college and at varsity...
I think your presentation and content is stellar. You really break the information down to a basic level and make it easier to digest.
As a musician/producer/engineer, I'd like to make a suggestion concerning the audio quality of your videos. There is a very prominent echo, most likely the result of being in a room with lots of hard surfaces, which produces a reflection. Try recording in a smaller space with more soft surfaces, like carpet and possibly hanging some bed comforters around you to absorb the sound. It will produce a more professional sound.
Please keep these lessons coming. South Africa is home to some beautiful music and languages.
You are sooo awesome, love the lessons! Sending much love from Cape Town! ♥️
i am white i hear kids speak isxhosa in my school i want to now what they saying thank you
Love it! So practical! Thank you for posting this!
Very clear and very helpful. Could you do videos on colours, clothes, rooms in house, things in each room, classroom and things in classroom, stationery, toys, etc. Thank you very much 💖
Your videos are very helpful. Every so often, I pleasantly surprise the Mrs and her family by responding to them in their native language, even if it’s one word at a time 😂
I am just a 15 year-old white girl, but this culture has always intrigued and inspired me and learning the language is one thing I would like to complete this year. Thank you :)
Get yourself a Xhosa speaking friend you'll even master the facial expressions. All the best
@@zinzizett4405 Oof, where I live there is no one who speaks the dialect. My town is 98% white and very close-minded. But I will try my best online.
Language, not dialect
@@southdakota6425 who cares if you're white. Skin color has nothing to do with language
@@masnwrdl0511 You'd be surprised how many people i know wouldn't want me learning a foreign language such as this

Your eyes are something else🤩. Thank you for your lessons! Very interesting and great to learn this. 🇨🇦
As an avid listener of Amapiano, I just had to learn this beautiful language so that I can understand the words to the songs. This also will help me to connect to anyone who is of the Xhosa family and also connect to The Creator as I feel the English language takes us as Melanated peoples from our true connection to him through indoctrination.
Omg, I didn't realize how much I know these words just by watching and listening to Tracy from Generations the Legacy
Thank you teacher l like Xhosa language very much and enjoying to learn it
