I have an equidistant DADD dulcimer built like a banjo.
I love these ideas! I’ve been mostly leaving that 4th string alone unless I want to barre it for some droning.
    Thanks,
    Jack

Steven, thanks for your video. I'm early in my dulcimer journey, and just love to listen to this stuff. It's not just informative, but beautiful

thats a really nice looking dulcimer, and a really dark kind of sound with that open string. kind a sad, nostalgic sound. It sounds a lot closer to an acoustic guitar as well.

Thanks Stephen! I switched to this setup right after you posted the previous video on this using David's MD. I'm hooked! I only play this setup now on all my MD's. You discovered some really cool stuff that I had not found yet. Thanks for sharing.

Terrific, Stephen, as always. I play a lot of 4-equid. dulcimer and you've taught me a bunch of cool stuff. I have had fun changing the tuning of one of the melody strings. Thanks!

The music words ding right off my skull, but between your voice and the sound of the dulcimer, this is such a soothing video.

Thanks, I commissioned a 4 string baritone with Ron Ewing last December, and the drone is so cool. I just wish I’d made the fingerboard wider.

I play guitar and ukulele, but I gotta get back to that dulcimer as well

Well I'm sold! Time to convert a dulcimer to 4 string! I just hope the 1.5 inch neck is wide enough
