I grew up church hurt too, living for the pleasures of this world, but when I actually encountered him I was never the same.. his love, the peace, the sacrifice, the selflessness and he is still alive, he is still saving sinners. There is no one like him. You can’t compare him to religion.

In all fairness, J Brooks didn't paint a pretty picture of Bree for Tasha or Elijah. He did say she needed help with her fashion, and looked to them to help her with that. Lastly, she wasn't there childhood friend. They knew of her but they didn't grow up with her.

Literally Bree is the most based person in the room. Just because you were born with something doesn't mean everything is handed to you on a silver platter. They know that but they're just jealous of her family regardless...try to tear her down and make it sounds like it's some other issue but none of them came up with anything concrete other than that she looks out of place -- but that's their own fault for not being welcoming! The way they act toward her is so not Christian (or should I say, it's very Christian in a judgmental sense. lol.). Honestly I think she isn't thriving because they've created a toxic environment for her. I think she should go somewhere else, like Tennessee or something, & make a name for herself in Gospel as an individual separate from her Dad and away from this toxicity.

As a PK, I respect and envy Nikki’s relationship with her mother.
When I found my voice and refused to be dictated to at an early age, I was marked as an outsider. Even though my mother had intimate relationships with women, throughout her 50 plus of marriage, I was always judged for falling short. It was hypocrisy at the highest degree. For those questioning if my father was aware, yes he was. Being a PK and navigating through the dark, demonic, and predatory actions of the church is challenging. My saving grace is to hyper isolate myself and family from family members who continue to use religion, in order to bring me into submission.

I don't care how much sin is glorified, it has always been and will always be holiness or hell. Jesus is so good that he died for all of our sins and rose with all power and will return. He didn't die so we would remain sinners. We have the space and gift of repentance through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I love him for it. He wants us to draw closer to him and renew our minds DAILY so we can be more like Christ. Church kids go through it because the devil doesn't want you (us) to grab hold of what he already knows is our destiny. If we only knew the power we possess as children of a Holy God, we can do the works of God and help transform lives by leading them to Christ. Not by lying but our testimonies of change through the holy ghost.

I'm so totally embarrassed that some people in my new city Montreal were laughing at this show, so I was curious. I hate it when people put down Detroit.
