I miss Stevon and that van series was my favorite
That guy knew how to do everything
@@polarbear4686 everything except drive in a straight line.
I refuse to give any thumbs up's until we at least get an update or something... Some friend.
@@jpabon18I assume there are serious legal issues because of lack of insurance…
@@dmacpher than say something. A little light shins a long way for loyal subscribers. I have been here many years now. It would seem a no brainer for me if the shoe was on the other foot.
Damn... 25K for that van sounds like a great deal. That was one of my favourite builds on the channel.
I'll echo the chorus here and say that I want Steven back. The channel just isn't as much fun without him.
What happened to Steven anyways?
Considering the limited info of his accident I'd bet there's a whole lot of legal and medical reasons why he can't be seen working on camera at the same location of the accident. These things can take years but there's a chance at settlement so we may still see him back.
@@Z32andCG6it's definitely related to legal issues. Rich has explained some of it a while ago but it's mostly insurance related from what it seems
@@lifewithjohnny2019 Thats what i want to know , i used to love the humour with the two of thm now its just another car show .
You all need to accept he isn’t here now and won’t be for a undetermined time. It is what it is, I understand dude was a great addition but y’all need to let it go. 😂😂
If you don't have oil restrictors to your turbos, that is where your smoke is coming from. If you do. They need to be smaller! Too much oil pressure to the turbos..
No one can tell me they weren't smiling while watching this video. This is absolutely one of the coolest builds I've ever seen in New Jersey
Massachusetts/New Hampshire
rich lives in mass
Rich is too childish...love it
I NEVER SMILE!😮
@@Allprocorey
Rich after watching you modify the handlebar part I think you should call her
This is an absolutely amazing and truly unique build on every aspect. With comedy too. These are reasons why I support this channel
That sound coming out of the mini truck never gets old. Rich, your videos are always worth watching. Every minute of them.
I heard Stevon opened a food truck with the camper van that also provides a place to stay for stressed out girls
This is one of my favorite builds you’ve done @Rich .. So much thought and awesome content!! Can’t wait for the next video!! Stay blessed brother!!
My mind is blown watching you guys drive that pickup, it's a lot going on indeed. Awesome concepts guys.
That thing sounds awesome!
Its nice to see how much progress has been made, I can't wait to see this thing finished
Absolutely sick build, Rich! Thanks for diving deep into the bottom-up projects.
Very cool!
I have a suggestion. Move the intercooler radiator against the radiator so the fans for the radiator will also pull air through the intercooler radiator. For that NACA duct to work, you are going to need some significant road speed to get cooling air over that intercooler radiator through the NACA duct. The radiator fans would be much better and maybe a bigger intercooler radiator.
Love the way this sounds.
❤
Why? Just put a fan on it.
These guys have zero idea
Ya, what happened. He just randomly stopped appearing in video?
Either that, or give it its own fan.
The neighbors must really love this channel with all the crazy sounds that come out of Ricks driveway in the middle of the night.
I love this thing, the patina, the pinstripes, and the Saab wheels! She’s a screamer too, the swap turned out great!
awesome update! That was some impressive hole enlargement one handed at the vice you did...
I am guessing the hood flew up and bent. I drove a vw rabbit diesel. We tied it down with dog chain that we left too long and it dragged on the ground. That old rabbit had more dents than a squished beer can... more goth than my all black 400k mile gmc. Add some pure carbon stains to that. I love this build.. it is like watching revenge as a daydream.
I like it alot ..gonna be pretty sweet to hear it run thru the gears with no clutch.
I am impressed. Seriously. What you, and your guys/girls, can do is amazing. I appreciate you sharing it with us.
So much Intel on how motor & electronics co-works together. Much props on this journey.
I've never seen so much Harbor Freight Tools outside of a Harbor Freight!
That is actually a really cool idea for a Hybrid vehicle. Electric up front & Gas in the rear. It can be all wheel drive when needed & switch to re-gen mode when the battery gets low.
It's the same as the new Corvette E-Ray.
volvo PHEVs are basically this, but backwards. ICE engine up front, electric motor in the rear, no driveshaft connecting the two (because the battery lives in the trans tunnel). when running pure electric they're RWD only, or AWD when the gas engine runs.
Interested to see a more detailed explanation on how the system is eventually configured: how does the electric side react to the throttle pedal position etc. 👍⚡
@@catsaregovernmentspies Really? I didn't know that. Haven't bothered to research it to be honest.
@intentsmodz You should check it out, it's really cool and really fast.
Smokes more than my 2 stroke snowmobile did. I'd say the tune is spot on.
Dude that build is so cool! Also I hope Stevon is doing well, all respect that he do not wanna be on camera, but it would nice to hear his joke riff-raff and laughter's with you again :)
This truck is so cool! Definitely looks sweet with the painted black saab wheels.
I think you need another hayabusa engine for the other side to even it out a little.
yeah that thing is slow af
@@TricknuttingI don’t think they were pushing it, not a good idea when it’s not all the way done
this is legitimately the coolest car build on youtube by miles, i fucking love this truck and yall are a great team
It's not the most practical machine, but it's got plenty to make up for it. Also Love that you put the old wheels back on it.
I had one of those "auto shifters" on a 2004 R1 and it was insane. You don't have to use the clutch with that shifter.. You just keep it pinned wide open and shift on the fly and it will cut the computer for a split second, which takes the load off the drive train: and lets it shift without ever using the clutch at all. It makes it sound exactly like an F1 indy car. Crisp shifting and the engine never stops screaming... Just keep it above 4k RPM's at least-- because these engines have very little torque-- so You have to keep the engine screaming a bit to get the power out of her.
F1 is different than indycar.
@@NjazmoMust be a new series, like 1/4 mile Nascar.
5:39 that’s what I call precision milling 😂
love it! i had that same blue tooth voice for my knock off iphone to audi connector sent a smile to my face every time i turned the car on
The sxs was badass when you guys first got it done. Glad to see you got it dialed in more and it's back.
When using the air shifter or auto shifter use don’t use the clutch. You can use an MPS kill box to cut the spark or a raptor kill system which is better. Don’t kill the fuel or it may detonate and mess up some of your internals. You always wanna kill spark
That van's a steal at 25K - wish I was in the market for a reasonably priced RV. The "WABBITT" is coming along nicely for a EV in disguise as a pickup masquerading as a sportbike.😁
P.S. How's Stevon doing since the accident? Sure do miss his skills and clever repartee.
Ever since I was a kid I have wanted to build something like this. High revving bed mounted 4cyl, combined with electric fwd, makes so many tuning profiles for traction and acceleration, and that makes it the coolest car/truck/monster on the internet right now.
*Stopped in for the Busa swap - *Stayed for the Adjustable Desk scene! GREAT 'ad read'! 🤣
Thank you rich for airing the video early. You know I sleep better. After I watch your video and then I sleep in the bed
My friend has a cooper mini with a turbo Hayabusa engine, 1360 I think it is pushing maybe 400 horse, I'm not sure. His exhaust is underneath. He does a lot of solo trips in it. With the added gas tank, he has a 500+ mile range on tiny tanks. Painted it day glow neon green with black strips, and he has LED's running underneath. The reason he said is he didn't want to get squashed. haha. He has room for a very large ruck sack. The last time I spoke to him he is adding on a sleep pod to the top of the car
It was heartwarming to see Stevon and Leenda in your vid. I miss those good old times.
Great one of a kind project once again Rich and the team
Insane price on the van. Those fumes are already doing work.
Maybe, but Lynda comes with it, so sounds like a deal 🤣
Great stuff rich!
@@TheBadSeed3094 I meant it’s a great price!
@TheBadSeed3094 🫡
Great episodee. I'd try to find a solution that doesn't involve clutchless changes. The gearbox is always going to be the most fragile part of the powertrain, as it has been built down to a minimal weight, and designed to deal with the weight of a bike - not a car (no matter how light).
Bike boxes are designed to do clutchless shifts, and in many cases this is actually easier on the box, since there is less shock.
quickshifter always works best in the higher gears. 1st -> 2nd and 2nd -> 3rd are always quite rough (my experience)
Cool truck n Nice shifter!!.. drag bikes use similar style shifters and run no clutch setups sounds bad ass
Most comedians wish they could have the grasp that Rich has for subtle sarcasm lol every time I watch his videos 👏👏
One thing I'd never say about his sarcasm is that it's "subtle".
Who was that guy building the bed in the van? Looks familiar
healtech quickshifters, cuts ignition/spark, They available for up and down gearshifts depending on ecu.
This video is soooo suggestive! The double and triple entendres are buck wild!!!
That is one very sick motor in need of a rebuild….
That thing is dope .. that's a lot of weight to downshift I'd watch out for that
Man you guys really come up with them. This thing is way cool in so many ways. Almost hate to see it come to a close. For that price the van is probably already gone as I type this. It turned out great. Lots of cool features.
sound and drive reminds me of my FSAE racecar days… makes me want to do something like this with my kids
That's a solid price for that van, I almost forgive you for the exhaust on the truck
Keep going rich rebuilds homie I love you
1:01 when you always wondered what it would be like to actually drive your awesome looking remote control cars when you were a kid!
Cutting the ignition vs the fueling would add to the dramatic effect. Likely end up with some flames when really pushing it. Still a cool project. As a power sports technician who started on cars I would love to do something like this.
Is Stephan permanently gone now? I loved his contributions to the builds. Miss him.
The one headlight is fitting. Looks like a bike Goin down the road lol
Except that most modern bikes have multiple headlights
@@rustler08 since I was young whenever I saw an oncoming vehicle with only one headlight in the dark of the night I subconsciously assumed it to be some sort of motorcycle rather than a car/truck running on only one. That part of the video instantly reminded me of back then..
It's a cyclops
Those wheels would look way better with a polished edge on it, rather than full black. Good luck with the build! And many safe and happy miles with it. Cheers!
Wow! That's quite the build! I've been following since the beginning and you guys have made great progress! Talk about, "We die like men!" whew...wow...
At @12:45 "Why is this not closing?" HHmm..could it be the 2 high voltage red cables? 😜 I know you show us what you want us to see. So maybe you knew that already. But, it was what jumped out at me. Good luck and may the Gods be with you!
Sounds beautiful!!!
Be careful with those husky straps. I’ve seen them fail with normal loads. I think they’re rated for 500# and they mean it.
Right there absolutely junk
Seeing this car in the wild 20years ago and now here after following after a few years blows my mind. I member this dude with his kitchen knife
Almost 20 😂
YEAH
I love that there's a NACA duct in the side even thought the entire back of the truck is wide open XD. This thing rips!
My prom dates dad: what are your intentions for my daughter?
Me: 5:33
Sounds amazing
@ 5:40 😮 jeez take it easy.
Loving the WABBIT! What a cool 'Mad Max' / 'Frankenstein' kind of machine it has become! To me this is so much cooler then a high performance sports car!
I think that was Pompeii Rich.
I died when I heard the Mayans 😂
@@gregdirectorofphotography He's so clever with his humor, I think I just fell for it.
@@cliffordaugustus9646 I don’t think he was joking. If so, I fell for it too lol
I miss the flute... Needs more flute
I love this truck build. Can’t wait for the next video!
Hoping to see this pulled apart and made nice at some point. Super cool build.
Great video, Rich! Can't wait to see it on the dino.👍
Hopefully they put it on the Dyno as well! 😂😂
You had me at "400 pound Mom". Thanks
I never get tired of Leenda walking down the street hitchhiking ..😍😍
13:00 Remember when Stevon crashed all of Rich’s money away on a “test run”? 🤦🏻
Fark that’s Ruff! Shiftiest build I have seen from these guys so far.
The smoke makes me think about turbos that have issues with the drain line (restricted)
(another comment says it could be from too much input pressure, too, which is similar)
Random question, what will happen if the car is parked and gets caught in the rain, will the water go down the exhaust into the turbo?
yes
Isn't that why trucks with the upright exhausts have those little flaps on them? If anything can go in and get yot he turbo it could be bad, worse than rain what if some road debris gets in there?
Yes, BUT it would take a massive amount of rain to cause any real problem.
I'm new to your channel, came from watching you on one ofJR's video's. You build some interesting stuff and this sure is a pretty wild machine. I'm not a big EV fan, but i am interested in how they work and go together. I see a lot of people talking about Stevon, who i don't know, but if he's gone, then he's gone. People come in and out of our lives, youtube creator's as well, so i hope people still support this channel, because it is entertaining, and you have interesting builds. G-d bless.
Why would you deny God's existence by censoring his name?
@@turbosixThat's not denying existence. Also the word God is a title, not a name. God's name, is, was and always will be Yahoweh.
I'm an old GN guy, so I salute the Turbo Six username.
New? Welcome! You've missed several projects. The V8 Tesla is a big one, along with several EV builds. I'm not an EV person either, but I love Rich's style and his humor! 😂
@@turbosix Because no one has yet been able to prove the bizarre assertion that such a thing _does_ exist.
That's a very complex build, congratulations on bringing it this far along.
Also, motorcycles use sequential constant mesh transmissions which don't require the clutch to shift. Sometimes you have to back off the throttle just for a second, but your speed shifter should accommodate this by cutting the ignition for a tiny second.
How do I learn more about this van? $25k seems like a fair price.
His business email in the description
Yes, $25k is a fair price for a wrecked cargo van..
I may be the only one that watches this channel because of you Rich but if you do end up bringing Stevon back you should never say anything about it just to fuck with these people who comment on every video about missing him.
Yes!!😂😂 I'm so tired of the crying
Instead of switch what about using relays and a audrino if gas is at a % of throttle or if breaks are energized(for regen if available) and if reverse is asked for then engage in reverse? Could add some very simple and interesting hybrid to it through some simple coding.
You should replace the steering wheel with a clip-on handlebar setup with a twist throttle and clutch lever for the full-on sportbike experience. I LOVE this creation! SEMA 2024!!
Who’s headlight did you steal for this? 😂
I bet it’s from the Hatabusa they chopped up! Chop chop! 😂😂😂
I think the stance is awesome looks and sound amazing. Great job
Loved watching this build !!! So excited ! 😊
Stevon?
Love this build.. Great channel Mate..
6:59 "Let me keep trimming, make it look bigger"
I was expecting an sponsored ad segue 😅
Yo, where's homie who almost got killed in that test drive???
Cue the "Arms of an Angel" music
I miss Stevon.
i miss him more.
I miss your mum but I had to dip when I accidentally made you
Wow what a peice of kit keep up the good work from not so sunny england 💪💪
I just love that you still do things the smart, but budget way. I think you did the exact same thing I'm doing for rear mount radiator hose. 1" heater core hose with couplers and adapters. Why would you pay hundreds of dollars for -16AN line in a system which sees very low pressure and doesn't carry flammable liquid? I notice a lot of stuff like this and it's clear people on the team have a lot of experience and do much research.
Bring Back STEVEON
Are you guys really still testing things on the road Stevon almost died on?
Every road you've ever driven on has had near misses. That's how roads work .
Insane, #1 crazy project channel.
Need to put a big decal on the hood of Elmer Fud and Bugs Bunny, the Wascally Wabbit. Also I havent paid too much attention to all the details but if you are running an air shifter, cant you combine it with a dynojet quick shifter and a dynojet pcv/auto tune? This allows WOT clutchless shifts and tuning. That way Rich can get his clutchless shifting and no bogging!
