I'm so glad we don't have skunks in Australia. Here we just have to worry about every single animal trying to kill you rather than make you smell bad.

The skunk was just chilling. It was probably asleep when you went to let it go since they tend to be nocturnal. It got a good meal and had a nice safe box to sleep in.
Now I want to put on a Nutella helmet and moonwalk around the house.
The stunk was smart enough to drag the bait out of the trap, but was dumb enough to go back in? I see why it got it's head stuck in a jar.

I've been sprayed while trying to release a skunk, this would have been a way better trap to use.

Talking to my local fish cop this past summer about live skunk traps. He told me flat out he would rather I didn't relocate a skunk and make it someone else's problem. Take it somewhere safe and put some extra holes in it's hide.
