Dan Hooker is still my boy.
And everybody thank you
Islam is my favorite fighter thatâs still active and Iâm happy Dan hooker fans didnât completely switch on him
Same but I canât help but feel disappointed? Got finished that quick? Everyone and there mother knows Islam wants to wrestle. He got taken a down way to quick and way too easy. Love him but he didnât even put up a fight
He needs to go to Bellator. He can't hang with the top fighters in his weight class.
Hooker just pulled the "Holland Maneuver" , the difference here is the level of wrestling. Luckily "lightweight Gastelum" wasn't a wrestler, of this will be three L in row for Hooker. He should go train with Holland.

People don't want to understand that at 155 lbs the fighters in the top 10 aren't necessarily levels above the top fighters outside the rankings. Guys Islam already beat like Arman Tsarukyan, Thiago Moises or Drew Dober aren't really much of a lower level than Hooker, RDA or Dariush. The division is so stacked that you can still find guys like Gamrot, Kutateladze, Ismagulov or Joel Alvarez outside the top 15 and that's even after inactive fighters like Al Iaquinta and Kevin Lee were removed.
That's what people don't understand. Jiri has 2 KO's and he'll get a title shot soon at LHW. Islam has 9 in a row and Dana's still talking about number 1 contender matches for him.
@@OneCash Honestly that goes to show how lackluster lhw is sadly. Seriously once u get above ww the talent starts to fade. @Fony Terguson One thing I've learned is to always go with Khabib's predictions. Makhachev has a better management unlike tony.
You guys are missing the real picture here, Tony doesnt have Ali Abdelaziz as manager.
I guess the mistake Tony did was took other fights when he could have just wait for title shot. It's worth as you can earn money but it's risky.
But to be honest, tony vs khabib really is a cursed fight
tony trips over a cord and lost his chance then covid break out and fighting justin like an idiot he should have waited for khabib at the end of the year you can blame him he's a moron
Tony was punished so much even in his win streak. Guys like Khabib, Islam can fight for years because of their health management. They take zero head damage most of the times.
This whole card showcased how important wrestling is
Yea man itâs the much more important than striking
UFC guys will need to do training camps in Dagestan if they want a chance to counter these guys
The whole mma history showed how important wrestling is wrestling gave more champions than any other martial art
Almost seems like it was showcasing Russian fighters. But the UFC wouldnât do that. But Khazmat and Islam will be champs
Wrestling is the most important discipline in fighting...
Right before Islam isolated the arm for the submission Khabib told him to "get your leg over his (Hooker's) head" and that's what he did to get the tap
Well that's a standard way to finish the kimura from side control.

The most unsurprising outcome of all time. Hooker might be the single worst style matchup to have a chance at beating dagestani grapplers. A back foot counter striker who relies on volume instead of power. Whatever the betting line of this fight was should be used in financial modeling for the risk free rate of return.
Maybe it's time for all these strikers to learn some jui jitsu? Really annoying hearing all these snowflakes cry about their favorite fighter being beaten by a better fighter. It's not anyone's fault you choose to watch an "exciting" fighter because they strike more often but get their face smashed in once they're on the ground.
@@thatsovietspy1974 you seriously think the fighters dont know BJJ? And knowing that automatically doesn't make you immune to wrestlers
Thereâs a Nigerian American guy named Stots who beat a Dagastani wrestler recently in Belator, proving they are human.
I disagree, in fact I think stylistically Dan is really good against these guys, and he does have good power as well, just look what he did to Gilbert Burns, hes just not that great of a clinch grappler or wrestler compared to somebody like Islam, and hes also just slow compared to most guys around his weight
@@hulkman245 it's pretty damn obvious people like Dan Hooker, Tony Ferguson, and Conor Mcgregor don't practice BJJ half as much as they practice their striking or they wouldn't be getting destroyed by the best grapplers. Great breakdown! I think your insights really underscore the nuances of the Dagestani style. Fighters are still preparing for them with conventional wrestling prep, and not taking these unique differences into account it seems. That probably factors into why opponents feel so prepared for the Dagestanis until they actually face them - being slave to convention makes them fall victim to all the unconventional trickery.
It didn't help that Dan had shite preparation (not only short notice, but CKB is barely functional atm due to the Covid situation in NZ), but it seems the Khabib-style will continue to dominate until the gyms adapt their training prep
Khabib's styles traps the leg(also known as dagestani handcuff which was introduced by khabib in ufc) of the opponent which pretty much nulifies wrestler and bjj users and traps them which makes it's harder for other fighters to counter it but it might just be matter of time before this dagestani handcuff gets exposed.

Islam is what a blend of Usmans strength and Khabibs grappling skills and both their wrestling abilities would look like. He's just that elite. No shame in losing to a morph of Usman and Khabib
Heâs not nearly as athletic as Khabib nor as strong quite frankly. Heâs still the best lightweight in the world though.
@@harrison9890 Khabib was 170 pounds fighting 155 pounders man. I would rather see Khabib take peds.
@@zoarmhirr2964 Is like saying other fighters in 155 is not above that weight during fight day, not weigh in. You got mistaken and delusional.
@@zoarmhirr2964 Most lightweights weigh 175-180lbs on fight night. Do you have a point or do you take pleasure in displaying ignorance?
@@zoarmhirr2964 No lw is 155 at the fight night.
First time I've been here to listen to your breakdown, what a great job bro!
I will always be a Dan Hooker die hard fan đȘđœ cheers to Islam đ„đ„đ„
If Oliveira deserved a title fight (which he did) then Makhachev certainly does.
Stop doubting Islam as heâs fighting tough opponents, who remembers Tsarukyan fight and is currently winning after his loss with Islam I donât see hooker pass him or anyone in the devision
Islam v Tsarukyan was an absolute joy to watch, they have got to be the best grapplers in LW. I can't think of a more entertaining grappling bout tbh. And on top of that Islam has gone entire fights standing and striking too and has dropped people, he's the most well rounded fighter in LW by a mile. Can't wait for some bigger names to be thrown at Islam.
Nice work man!
Excellent content. enjoyed it a lot!!!
i hope izzy upload his reaction/analysis on this event sooner.
Haha good one since he rooted for dan to win this fight
@@achmaddmitri9090 It's his best friend and the video is public.
You can be real with your best buds in private, but doing so in public is a dick move.
Absolutely agree with you, Weasle! He should be next for title!
The referee saved Dan Hooker from a broken arm.
What? đ He literally tapped
@@Ron_Swanson No, he didn't tap, but Islam Makhachev did beat him fair and square and had Dan Hooker in a nasty Kimura Lock that he wasn't going to get out of.
didnt he verbally tap ?
@@hakimben8472 I didnât hear him verbally tap, but he might have. Either way, Dan Hooker lost, and it was a great call from the referee.
@@Ron_Swanson What? đ The ref literally saved Hookerâs arm from getting snapped in half like a fucking twig. So what he said was right.
Superb analysis. Great job. Thanks for posting.
As much as I love Dan, the only people who didn't think Islam was winning this are Islam/Khabib haters (half of which have McGregor's nuts halfway down their throats) and the biggest of Hooker fans
I don't like seeing Dan lose, but he really put his own foot in his mouth with this one
Dan Hooker is starting to give me cowboy cerrone vibes. All the good and bad
Why? He had a good one vs poirier and lost to easily the next best LW
Rda maybe not cerrone
@@theunbeatable6598 because he's a phenomenal fighter who's down to take on any challenge but has his absolute worst performances when the lights are brightest
@@delbomb3131 I dont wanna agree but I can understand certainly. But I think he's still good to go
@@theunbeatable6598 it's not an insult, cowboy is an icon and I'll go out of my way to watch any fight hangman is in, but it's definitely a trend at this point
@@delbomb3131 I don't know man, he showed up against Dustin. I think it's just that really fast explosive wrestlers like Chandler and Makhachev make him nervous
Awesome content as always, thank you
Islam and Khabib, what an amazing team. I think theyâll capture the belt in a short amount of time. As long as Islam uses a similar game plan as Khabib, and takes his opponents to the ground which minimizes his chances of getting caught by a KO strike, I think they can go on an undefeated run like Khabib did. This was always the plan Khabibâs father dreamt about. đ„đâ€ïž
He gotta fight the winner of Poirier - Oliveira. 9 fights win streak, that would the longest way to the title if he fights another contender, if I remember it correctly. Khabib and Usman both also got their title shots quite late, after 9 wins. Islam's 10 fight also should be for the title. Chandler beat Hooker got the title shot with 1 win. I mean, there should be legitimacy in this whole thing.
And people really love to shit on khabib for not defending his title more, also tru i think maybe one more win within the top 10 and then a title shot for Islam.
@@Dsayyah You're crazy. You cant be racist to Muslims because Islam (religion) isn't a race. Plus Dana loves these Dagestais and Chechens
Dana ? Lol dana doesn't have any bias with chechens, it's just that the Caucasus keeps on producing world class talent thats way the ufc promote them and rightfully so.
In the other hand the ufc clearly has bias for British fighters always giving them easy road for title fights, even tho British is probably the weak country for mma talents.
Remember how the ufc orchestrated darren till run at 170? Even tho he never was a special talent and the ufc still pushed him.
Till was missing a lot of his weight ins and he wasn't even ranked when he fought cowboy who was ranked 6. That was a clear ufc Bs.
Or when he missed weight against cowboy, and the British judges gifted him a Bs decision win, and even with all that non sence the ufc still rewarded him with a title shot.
Dana loves two things money and talents. And the Caucasus always has been produces world-class talent, unlike England which is at this point just a market that is only interesting for the fans that can buy ppv, because they don't bring anything else to the table.
That's way the ufc loves khabib, khamzat, and Islam. It's not for anything else.
Everybody knows Islam is a race.
All of knows what they mean, when some people say "racist against Muslim people" it means discrimination and hate speech.
Africans, Latin Americans and Eastern Europeans/Russians are different human species when it comes to combat sports. These people grow up in inhumane circumstances and have to fight their way out of poverty.
Russians are Eastern Europeans. Dagestanis and Chechens are Caucasus people. Caucasus isn't part of the Eastern Europe. Different culture, ethnicity, etc, everything. Brazilians, Caucasus people, Eastern Europeans, Western/central Africans, Mexicans/Latin America. These are the most dominant forces. In that order I think.
That stepover in the end of sub was called by khabib. Goat coaching
Bro, whoâs finna stop this man
This was a great card man, was a bit bummed about the Ankalaev fight though
THIS WAS A GREAT PPV!
This is freefight brother...no ppv
@@mrboast2826 yeah but it was worth PPV probably more than ufc268
@@mrboast2826 it was a free ppv. No need to correct him homie.

Depends which country you're in.
It was $40 here in Izzy's country New Zealand.
I sacrificed 4 hours of sleep just to watch this card live, I don't regret it at all. One of the best cards of the year in a year filled with amazing cards.
Nice work!
The caucasus boys be dominating that card. What a day for them.
First rule to fight wrestler....Never ever kick them...They will single leg you...Khabib capitalise on Gaetjhe kick ....And Islam also capitalise on Dan hooker kick
Theres literally no weapons left thenđ€Ł apart from a KO which is unlikely ig you have a granite chin like Khabib or super polished stand up like Islam
But on the way in for the takedown I think that the best shot for striker
Just retarded logic. Kick em all you want, just set it up instead of throwing it out there with nothing hiding it.
In the corner, khabib actually told him go for kimura and not breaking his arm
Very excited to see how oliveira would handle high level wrestlers like Islam
Different level bratha
I was hoping Dan would win, but Islam is just too good man. Insane fight iq
Glad to see makhachev finally ascending to the top
How do you make these videos so fast weasle your the goat my guyđ!! Feel bad for dan islam is a beast
Dude is crazy skilled!
Allahumma barik lahu.
Dan losing this fast was hilarious. No hate on him, but damn that was a bit too fast, and imagine if it was 5 rounds XD
Burn the boats lmao đđ
2nd time heâs been obliterated in the first round. Smh
Why? If it was 5 rounds, there would be no submission which is the way Islam won and Islam would have smashed dan for round 5?
He is the best right now in light weight division
As soon as I saw khabib giving islam advice I knew it was over
Great breakdown thanks
