    It is Fascinating how the comet appears to be fixed like stars, they move at the same speed and the relative position of the comet in relation to the background starts doesn't change.
    It actually seems like a crack in the sky from where light enters from behind a black screen.

      1000000% it’s because our realm is geocentric and it’s a piercing in our god made firmament. A true wonder.

    I saw Neowise while in Nevada. I was an awesome sight. I enjoy watching the heavens. So many mysteries. I feel with so many planets we cannot possibly be alone.

      @@k02e00a There are other places but if you go out into the Nevada desert you will see some interesting airplanes and of course the night skies are gorgeous. I don't think humans will be around the next time the comet passes by earth in 6,792 years. Maybe Neowise, the telescope and other man made objects will be floating around but not us humans. We are warmongers bent on self destruction.

    The comet moves with the stars. Same pattern, same movement. If you look closely, it’s as if the windows of heaven are being open, exposing the light of heavens into the darkness of space

      The sensation is that it moves with the stars, due to the rotation of our planet, but the comet has its own movement as it plows its orbit through our solar system.

      We’re long overdue for another great comet in the northern hemisphere.. I certainly hope another one come by in my lifetime. I saw Hale-Bob in the 90’s and even though I definitely got my money’s worth looking at it every night for months.. I wouldn’t mind getting to see one more before I go.

    Legit question. I get that the tail of an object would react entering our atmosphere but how it a tail of a comet being lit up?

    • @k02e00a
      @k02e00a  Před rokem +2

      The tail is formed by the solar wind and is illuminated just like the comet by the light it reflects from the sun.

      @@k02e00a theres air in space?

    • @Corksy
      @Corksy Před 4 měsíci

      @@firstclass000solar wind is actually made of particles that are being ejected from the sun. As a comet approaches the sun, it starts to melt and lose a part of its icy content. These are then pushed back away from the sun by the wind. That is also why a comet can appear to move in a direction different from where the tail is moving.

      If you follow it day by day, it moves, but for just a few hours, the distance makes it seem like it's stationary. It is so far away from us that moving thousands of kilometres makes it move just a few milidegrees in the sky.
