- On a recent spring mountain bike trip to pisgah we hit all the classics once again. But one trail that I had glazed over in my past visits was avery creek. So, it was a must hit while we were there this time. That, and the avery creek gap has been on my hit list of features to hit for a long time. While it wasn't my favorite trail of the trip, it was pretty awesome and would love to have it in my backyard! Checking the avery creek gap jump off the list was icing on top of an already amazing 4 days of riding. Check it out, lemme know what you think down in the commments. It's always a good time. I've been down many times but usually stick to the big point to point shuttle rides and Avery was always one of those trails we meant to hit but never did.
What bike were you riding in this one? And which do you feel is more appropriate for Pisgah/Dupont - a shorter travel 130/140mm Trail bike, or 150/160mm enduro bike?
I was riding my slash in this vid. I feel like you could prolly get away easily with a 130 bike but when I go to pisgah I do alot of big point to point shuttles with lots of descending over multiple days so having the big bike with big tires and inserts is just more fun and reliable
