What makes this machine so strong is the high drive. It eliminates the need for a lower reduction unit, which means all the motor torque is going direct to the drive sprockets. A brilliant design.
Cat is going away from the high drive. All the torque on a conventional drive goes to the sprockets too, if anything the high drive's extra idler and the extra 'corner' the track chain has to make causes power losses. The advantage of the high drive was that it gets the final drives away from the shock loading from the carrying the machine weight and it allows a suspension bogie system instead of just a straight track frame with the rollers bolted to it.
Paradox: What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Engineers at D11 CAT plant: 'What is an immovable object, we have never met such a thing?'
the one good thing about cat was when you pulled down the trottle dropped the blade and let her onn all the horses were live ones the d8h would move under your arse

I thought it was the use of Super Unleaded Gas.....93 Octane.

@@stressbelden5869 Diesel stupid !
@@TheUberGopher well....with five years having passed....cat appears to be still going with the high drive style.

Big machine D11 is caught. The powerful body is beautiful. Thank you from Japan.
Love the sound of the 3508
Sounds like a dang locomotive! That’s a lot of torque in that big girl
we could use a few of these in chicago, driven by blind people. Would fix a lot of problems.
St Louis. Memphis. Detroit. Atlanta. DC. Etc.
always wanted to run a D11 I spent many houses pushing pans with a D8 but I could cut grade with it loved it and miss it
Push in first, back up in first...thats the right way!!! Great vid
Good machine and good operator,💪👍
💪power💪 power 💪power💪
Good stuff...now that is how you clear dirt of the road. Hmmm.... if only I had one to clear traffic in the morning.
Where is this located? Because that's one fantastic view while working...
Fantástico ver estas máquinas incríveis trabalhando.

Surely that is a scraper pushing blade he has on that - and I always thought they were sprung loaded to a point.
If he hits hard spots like that you should drop the Ripper so he can keep that blade full He's pushing
Robert. Boutin. Baie jammes
