- Please excuse my bad wardrobe choices. Its Hot in Texas and groundwork is an easy choice in the heat.
But if you wanna work on the ground on your topline, this exercise is for you.
Backing up with the head low and adding direction uses all of the back and helps the horse round.
Give the backing a figure 8 around barrels a try and let me know how it goes.
Great job!
"What more do you want from me woman?!" Lol he's a charmer. Extra points for being so patient with him. Other I've seen just immediately call their horses disrespectful for simply being confused. Great job! I'll use this for my underweight draft
Thank you for being persistent with this. The horse appeared slightly confused ( first time) and unwilling ( it's work) and you did not stop as I would have. This helps me see that I am not hurting ( psychologically/ physically. 😂) my horse when she acts as yours did.
Great video. Thanks
Thank you so much for your comment.

Great idea! Thank you! :)
Ha, youre dressed how I dress most days! Well, I get so hot I'm usually in a bathing suit too or sports bra with my shorts and boots!🤣 I try to keep it classy but there ain't a soul around to see me other than my animals and they don't care. My teenage son's friends are used to mom running around the farm half dressed😂 lmao
Good to hear I'm not the only one in boots and shorts!!
@@lonestarwoman heck naw, can't count the times I've come running across the pasture throwing clothes along the way, flailing like an idiot all the way to the pool to cool off and rinse the mud and sweat off🤣
How often should you do this exercise with your horse so that the horse has a nice defined top line but your not pushing them to hard?
Building the top line requires both proper nutrition groundwork exercises and saddle work exercises, you also have to make sure that the horses receiving proper nutrition and there are f top line building feeds.
It can take between 3 months and a year depending upon the overall condition and confirmation of your horse.
Also concentrate on writing exercises that focus on collection and getting the horse to engage the overall back muscles

Daily groundwork is a great start.
I found the Passoa helps a great deal.

Takes time, but 90 days to a noticable difference
Try using a rope halter
True using a rope halter would help put additional pressure on points that would help. It's all about appropriate amounts of pressure for each horse.
not easy.. kudos to you
How old is this horse?
