Have an amazing trip and thanks for acknowledging it can be traumatizing because it was (which is why I didn’t go into detail in this video) Advice I will give is if you do encounter the police, tell them you don’t have much, but pay them what you can. Also some of the rental cars use special tags which automatically lets the police know you are a tourist. Jolly robbery was much worse and he’s still upset about it. @@KassieP-sf6nz yes it was scary. I wish I could say differently but it happened twice from two different cops on two different occasions. I don’t think this will happen if you are on foot. I think it’s a car thing perhaps. But to be honest the overall vibe of San Lucas was a safe feeling. We don’t regret going, I would suggest you still go, but we had to be honest about what truly happened.

But, I've also heard that Cabo was really safe. Considering how dependent they are on tourists, you'd think the federales would leave tourists alone.
Thanks. I would say that Cabo does have a safe feel. You can walk freely at night and not feel threatened. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the police.
Can you share where you booked the camel ride please? I’ve been looking at some & see people experienced a lot of hidden fee’s & felt scammed. So I definitely want to avoid that.
Hello! We booked at cactus tours Cabos. There will be hidden fees regardless, it’s Cabo. Avoid the guys at the airport when you get through customs, they will try to sell you a tour and make it seem so cheap and make you go to a timeshare presentation. Everyone is just the middle man and they sell camel tours EVERYWHERE. I would suggest booking directly with cactus tours. The hidden fees will be about $100 for pictures (and they will be beautiful professional pictures) a private tour cost about $80 more per person (the private tour is the only way they allow you to take your phone, otherwise you must put it in a locker). Lastly they will try to make you pay for insurance if you ride the atv too (this can be $50-$80 depending on what they want to charge that day) I hope this helps and most of the hidden fees are optional, but of course you would want your beautiful camel pictures 😊
@@cheryljenkins7230 Grand Solmar and I enjoyed my stay there and it was walking distance to all the action. Just keep in mind they have 3 hotels at the same location, I would recommend grand solmar over Solmar if you can, it cost a bit more but it’s worth it.

@@iamchanel_b hello Beautiful! Uhmmm I think for a solo trip you should still go as it is extremely safe (just avoid the police 👮♀️) I personally wouldn’t return because it’s so EXPENSIVE and scammy. It’s too touristy for me. I’ve been to so many more authentic places that’s costs a fraction of the price. Because it’s generally safe I think it’s still a good option for you.

There are other ATM's that give dollars. There is definitely one by Senor Frog's on the sidewalk.
