I think my hamster thinks she's a bird, the number of times she's jumped out of my hands and platforms in her cage is ridiculous, I think she broke her tail at some point as it's crooked but she never showed any sign of pain so she may have just been born with it, though I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen in one of her many flying attempts.
ThatDragonWarrior my hamster decided it would be a good thing to jump off the platforms and then climb to the top of the cage to hang on by one paw and let go! she's a hyper one😂

My hamster does this too, whenever I put him on the table for a minute or just simply hold him he just launches himself off. Once he did a backflip in the air from launching himself off a really high shelf,but he's now haha 😂
I accidentally dropped my hamster a few minutes ago I really panicked a lot because I got my hamster 4 days ago and I did not want it to be hurt. I dropped him from my desk and I was standing on a chair but luckily he fell on a bag that was nearby.
Guys I need help! So I accidentally dropped my hamster. She was mad at first and nibbled me but that was it. I noticed right away her back was hunched. She has her balance and stability. She is still as sweet as normal. And she walking fine. I believe she is running fine too. But I don’t know what to do! I’m so mad at myself! I’ve had her for almost 5 months now. Ok so she’s walking a little different because her back is hunched. But not to much. She looks so much smaller because of it though! And if I touch her back she doesn’t move or bite like she’s in pain

Jocelyn Stevani don’t hold your hamster that early, you should spend some time researching them, let them get used to your house for a week or so and then let them get used to your hand

Mine just did that. That’s why I looked up this video. I think he is fine he is still breathing fine and he is still quite active ( as normal) but he did go to bed after wards. Should I be worried?

Aurum Niniko if ur hamster is squeaking and screaming then he/she is rlly scared or stressed so be careful and talk in a soothing voice, once ur hamster is in its cage, I usually play music made to calm down hamsters and let them stay by themselves for a bit

I'm never uneasy when holding my hamster I I'm a total animal lover, so I'm never scared. Just be calm and courteous when holding. Or just hold it in a container if your still not comfortable.
True story: When I was in 5th grade I brought my robo to school. (Terrible idea.) When I tried to put him in his ball, he ran if the desk and fell about 2ft onto tile. My teacher almost stepped on him before I caught him again... Yeah I beat myself up for months after that. My hamster was fine though☺
i was holding my dwarf hamster during the video, and every time her hamster did that cleaning nose thing, my hamster did it too!!! i never dropped AnnaBella, but when she wants to come out she bites her cage bars and climbs to the top of the cage using the bars as a ladder lol. she always falls after climbing to the top of her massive cage, so i call her Iron Bella lol

Mileena Kahnum you can and should handle your hamster because what I've found is that the more I handled em, he got used to it. You could even use a hamster ball if you're too afraid to let him out.

After years and years of hamster owning I dropped my dwarf for the first time. He also launched himself off my hand. It was ‘only’ from about a meter high. He didn’t freeze and continued walking, so that’s good. When I put him back in his cage he immediately asked for the treat he knows he gets when he gets put back in the cage so I hope that means he’s okay. He seemed a bit slow just now but he also just woke up so we’ll see tomorrow morning :(
When I was younger, I had dropped one of my hamsters on accident (I was around 8 or 9 at the time - I was like, 4'11 and dropped from belly-button height) and after waiting maybe 30 seconds to a minute, she was still not moving (breathing just fine and stuff), so we took her to the vet (very carefully) and it turns out her spleen ruptured. We had to put her down and lordie it hurt my heart so badly. I felt so horrible and didn't get a new hamster til about 6 months after the incident.
i have a gerbil , and my mom put it on a coffe table..(it was pretty big)..and my gerbil just lunched and droped on the floor and start running... She's fine
My hamster dropped it self It landed in its back Right on its spine back bone thing When it did It began to release waste imidietly It could not move It was stuck So I put it back on the table And it froze And began to walk again But I noticed his behavior was very VERY different It was very scared And easily jumped of horror Before he was very Curious And energetic Ever since He has been that way Edit: hamster has been passed away. This Mass on it's back started growing bigger and bigger until one day it "popped". We don't know how but it was ruptured. Inside was simply just this Hard black material. My dad tried cutting the mass off to try and save him. We couldn't see a vet because we don't have money for expenses. After a few days I noticed he was dying and that it was his final hours. He would just lay on the ground and barely eat or drink. At the very final hours he would have seizures and twitch. I went to sleep and woke up to his stiff cold body.
Omg the very same thing happened to me yesterday! It kinda scared me,and when she began to take a dump all over the place I felt really worried aaaaaaa!!! But she seems ok today,so hopefully it isn't anything to worry about! I'm really glad I'm not the only one this has happened to,I'm still kinda worried! 💕
Accidentally dropped my hamster about two hours ago after only having her for two weeks. Ater a call to the vets, my mum and a good few sobs, this video and some advice from some Facebook groups I’m in have made me feel much more relaxed. I’m still anxious and keeping a close eye on her but it’s good to get advice like this. Thank you for your videos

She dropped from a very high staircase balcony onto hard wood :( she was stunned for a few seconds but got up and had been running around. It's Saturday and no small "exotic" vets are open and my son is so nervous. Seeing this video seems to have helped calm him a bit (7 years old) so thank you for this post♥️

Then, there was the time her & her friends placed her on the dresser & she fell off the back side of it & I bout near had a heart attack! Urusa Hasan may maybe this tip well help you before you give your hamsters food or treats wash your hands and if you have other pets such as dogs or cats make sure that that area is clean and your hamsters cage and a nothere thing is how big is your hamster cage that may be causing the aggressive recation and that may help another thing is you can rub tolite paper on you and put that in the cage so they will get use to you so you can pick them up and can be comfortable or comfy and you can learn more tips at chocolatecolors26
ok well sense it's been a while, i suggest bathtub with towel at the bottom, let him get used to that surrounding for a few minutes then crawl in with him delicately, this gives a "neutral ground " because some hamsters are just generally cage territorial, you should start trying to tame him on the neutral ground by carefully putting a treat at the edge of your finger.
This helped a whole lot! I dropped my hamster yesterday, and he fell on his back onto my desk. I was so scared. He launched out of my hands plus my cat was watching me handle the hamster. I left it there for a second and he just shook, and in a few seconds he was just fine. Thank you.
I’m watching this while crying because I was just sitting at the table with my parents and my hamster was close to the edge and I accidentally softly nudged her and she fell onto the ground and on her way down also bumped into my chair. She got so scared that she zoomed like a meter away from where she fell and also peed from stress. My dad saw that it was my fault and was quite mad at me. But she is currently moving around and burrowing a lot (probably from the adrenaline) and not limping or anything

My Hamster jupms off. I've never dropped her, She technically dropped herself. She's always fine because she lands on her feet and she's under a soft surface. It's so funny when she jumps.😂
I just dropped my dwarf hamster ;-; Her cage is like one meter above the ground and since she always crawls up her cage I wanted to get her down. Well she walked on my arm and fell to the ground and she was just laying there really flat and wouldn't move... I was so scared but now she's acting like nothing happened. She was a bit wonky the first few seconds but she seems to be fine now. I feel so guilty even though it's technically not my fault 😭😭
@@waynetay6846 Yes, my hamster is totally fine now, she's very healthy and happy! After she fell I made sure to watch her for a while in case she showed any sign of being in pain but as I said, she just behaved normally. I know this is a scary experience but I wouldn't worry too much about your hamster. Try to see if there are any changes in their behavior and if you notice anything you can still go to a vet. I hope everything works out for you and your hamster

@@waynetay6846 She didn't squeak when I dropped her, that's actually why I thought she died. If they fall down somewhere it will, of course, be rather shocking for them, especially if it was a long fall and maybe that's the reason he squeaked. They also run in their wheel when they feel stressed but that's understandable after falling. May I know if he was in his cage or outside when he fell? And did he bite or struggle when you picked him up?
wen i was 13, i drop my hamster, she started to tremble and then she started to drop from both nose and mouth. i panicked, i plead my mom to take her to the vet, but she didn't feel like it and told me that she would die. I cried really hard, feeling bad for dropping my lovely pet, i just took her on a shoe box expecting the worst part. it happened like three hours until i realized that she was still moving, coughing sometimes, all of sudden she started to wash herself, still covered in blood. I was amazed, i just could believe that such a small creature could survive that, but at the same time, i was happy, happy as i can never recall before. I took her to her cage and put the water bottle and food plate next to her bed, so she wouldn't move to much. like a moth after that she appear to be fully recovered and was fooling around her cage just like ever. She died when i was 15, and now i remember her as one of the best pets i ever had, that's why i watch this kind of videos, because remind me her and how much i loved her. rest in peace Mila
Little update, I rang the vets and they've said he probably just in a bit of shock and needs time to calm down, I just need to keep an eye on him overnight and take him in if theres an emergency phew I was panicking so bad cos hes literally my world!

My Snowball was at the pet store for eight months. He is an albino Syrian. He was sent in with a large number of litter mates, and he was by far the sweetest. I love him so much! Poor thing, no one wanted him because of the fact that he was albino. All of his litter mates got homes very fast, but he, like I said, was there for eight months. The pet store employees took great care of him, and they all loved him. When I met him, they talked about how much they loved him and how sweet he was. They even offered to pay half of his vet expenses! He did nearly break his leg once, getting stuck in a cage tube. Now he lives in a bin cage. From the moment we first got Snowball, he had a bit of a strange walk. One day, my mom was playing with him and putting him back in the cage, when he leaped out of her hands. He landed on his back and struggled for a moment, but after that he simply got up and went over and drank his water. He’s never shown any sign of real injury.
Thank you so much for the advice but it seems like my hamster really doesn’t trust me anymore. I’ve tried treats and cradling and “cooing” but he just really doesn’t trust me. (I dropped him about 15 minutes ago) do you have any tips on regaining their trust?
So I know this comment was posted a year ago, but just in case anyone sees this comment and can relate: I would wait for at least an hour or two before trying to feed or picking him up so that he can recover. Maybe even apologize. Your hamster might also just be tired or not hungry.
1: omg thank you so much I was panicking so much!!! 2: I have a question- my hamster randomly limps his foot at times and that’s before I accidentally dropped him. Does that mean his foot fell asleep or he is a little injured??? I always check his foot when he does it and he doesn’t squeak in pain or anything. So is his foot asleep or a little injured? Reading the comments is so stressful. Please do some research before you decide to have a pet. Do the research before, not after. The fact that hamsters are small animals doesn't mean they don't deserve the same respect and attention larger animals receive.
While i was clean my robo hamster Gizmo’s tank she super jumped out of her box and landed on the floor. She landed on her back and wiggled around for a few seconds, she then sprinted around my room and it took my sister and I an hour to finally catch Gizmo. I was so worried that she might have broken something on her fall i had a mini panic attack. This video helped me calm down a bit since she wasn’t showing any signs. Hopefully she will be okay and i will keep a close eye on her.
I got my hamster 3 weeks ago... and my hamster and I were sitting on my couch and She Went crazy out a sudden and Jumped she landed hard and I Grabbed her I dont know what to do!
I remember around 2011, my sister dropped the hamster by accident and we were panicked because she didn't move at all but after a while she manage to move and survived. That's not all we were kids back then so we gave her a chocolate and not related to hamster food. Unfortunately, she died while me and my family trip to Batam. Thanks for the video. I dropped my winter white from about 5’ onto hard wood floors after she bit my hand. I didn’t mean too, the bit surprised me and I shook my hand not thinking just reacting. I thought for sure she was dead. She didn’t move for about 30 seconds. Then I seen a little movement. I will go into details in case it helps someone but other may not want to continue reading. She had landed on her head. Once she did move it looked like her front leg was broke, then she started bleeding from her nose and going into convulsions. I felt so stupid and bad for what happen. I had her for 27 months. I just knew she wasn’t going to make it and I started thinking what could I do to stop the pain. She was making a bunch of little squeals. After about 10 minutes she started getting a little more life. She started using the leg I thought was broken to clean her face. Her eyes still wasn’t fully open and her breathing was really fast. About 20 minutes after the fall the bleeding stop and she started breathing a little more normal. After about 30 minutes her eyes opened more and she stop making as much squealing. I put her in her cage too make her feel a little more comfortable. She sat for another 10 minutes or so. Then she finally started walking. She came to the door, looked at me, turned around and went down some pipes to her bed and went to sleep. I have checked on her every hour and so far so good. You never really know. Hoping she got lucky and will continue to be ok. You can search the web and get all kinds of answer, but it depends on height, hamster, and how it lands. All you can do is watch over them after a fall and keep them warm.
Ive had a hamster once... I was sleeping and she loved to stack up a bunch of her bedding on the top of her cage. I locked the door and slept with my dog i double checked her cage was closed and went to bed. I woke up at 1 am in the morning and her cage with the big bunch of bedding was wide open.... When i got to her i saw her drop... I was so paniced i picked her up... And i soothed her.. She died in my hands.... Simce that day i never bought another hamster...

I don’t know if I dropped my baby or if he jumped, it was terrifying either way. I quickly picked him up and started panic praying and put him in his cage. Now I know to leave him there for a few moments if it ever happens again. When I put him back in his cage he was walking and got some water before going into his burrows. He’s over 2 years old so I hope he’s ok, I’ll monitor him closely the next 24 hours, thankfully I have some money saved incase I do need to take him to the vet. I got a hamster yesterday and today I took it our of the cage to become better friends with it. When I started petting it, it ran out of my hand and fell straight onto the floor. It started running and I struggled to catch it and put it back in its cage. I started crying because I didn't want anything bad to happen to it. As it looks now, nothing happened to it, since it eats normally and everything and it didn't squeak or make sounds from the pain. Oh, how much I hope it's alright.
Literally dropped my dwarf hamster minutes ago and I'm so worried because it's the first time I dropped him and at 4 feet high too. 😢 He just froze for a few seconds and when I put him back in his cage, it's as if nothing happened and even asked for a treat. Yesterday, I offered my hand to my hamster and instead of just going on the palm, he ran up my arm in super speed mode. I was panicking as he happily explored all over my head and back, trying to lie down over his enclosure so he can fall inside and land on the soft bedding from as close as possible. Of course, he chose to jump that 40-50 cm from my backside on the hard floor instead. Next time this happens, I am just lying flat on the ground and preparing mentally for chasing after him in my room.

One time my Robo hamster dash had escaped her cage, she fell down 13 stairs, and hid behind a bookshelf. 2 days later we could t find her anywhere, then my mom pulled out the bookshelf and there she was shivering in a ball, she regained all her health but unfortunately died a couple weeks later. My hamster escaped from the cage and jumped of the closet it was on, a solid 1.5m fall, I saw it from the corner of my eye and she layed still for a bit. When I touched her she stood up and walked away. I genually cried and was anxious for about a week. Now she cannot escape anymore and she never showed signs of trauma.
I had a one year old compbell hamster. He was diagnosed with diabetes and I had to give him insulin shots twice a day and he was doing great. Today when I wanted to picked him up, he made a noise and bit me which is unusual for him. I accidentally dropped him, he started to scream and bitting me again. I realized he was bleeding from his neck. It is sunday and his vet was not open so until I found some vet, he passed away in just one hour. My sweet and cuddly baby...I think It was my fault and I don't know how I can handle it.
About a year ago my hamster escaped her cage and she was scared of me because she was very skittish. I had to get her so I cupped my hand over her and she tried to escape. she was half way out of my hand and I panicked and squeezed my hand to trap her and ended up squeezing her. She was completely fine, though I do not recommend doing that, she was fine so as long as you check on them everyday to make sure, they should be fine. I was very surprised at how tough she is

My first experience with my very first hamster was traumatizing. I got it 5 days ago. Transported it to my hotel room (we had travel ahead of us). I had placed him in his travel box with plenty of bedding, food and a toiler paper roll. So I open his cage to see if I can hang a water bottle there and it suddenly gets on top of the paper roll and jumps out of the cage and starts running around the hotel bed! I try catching him and then he runs off the bed and falls on the floor on its back! I panic ans inmediately grab it quickly, afraid it will run away and out of the room somewhere (tiny 3 month old dwarf, can easily fit even under the door). After having a panic attack and crying thinking it might be injured, I calmed down because I saw it moved normally like before. Thank God it's been fine but I think it got legit scared because despite being used to being handled at the pet store and even I pet it when I got it, it's been skittish of me and has been avoiding me since then. I dont lose hope though cause it's still just one week in.
My son's hamster just jumped out of my hands. She fell on her head and back on the hardwood floor from about a metre and was moving her legs slowly and closing her eyes a bit while on her back. I thought she was going to die. She lumbered away slowly but after a little a few minutes she seemed to get back to normal. Eating more and back on the wheel. Wish us luck.
I just dropped my hamster now. It wasn't her fault or mine or anyone's at all. I was with my sister to show her how my hamster has gained a bit of weight and she accidentally pushed my arm away and Mable ( my hamster ) fell onto the hardwood floor on the back of her head, the fall was I think between 1.2-1.3 metres from the floor. I’m watching my friend’s kids’ hamsters for a week and one of them jumped right out of my hand as I was trying to take it out of the cage. Froze feet up for 3 seconds then went on with his day. Worst 3 seconds of my life (and trust me, I’ve had a lot of bad things happen in life but telling my friends 4yo and 7yo their pet died would have been the worst).
I’m literally crying as I watch this video because my baby accidentally ran off my inside balcony after she jumped off my shoulder and it’s a 15 foot fall. I’m probably going to take her to the vet tomorrow because I’m petrified of having hurt her. She was running around afterward though. I think my hamster thinks she's a bird, the number of times she's jumped out of my hands and platforms in her cage is ridiculous, I think she broke her tail at some point as it's crooked but she never showed any sign of pain so she may have just been born with it, though I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen in one of her many flying attempts.

Mileena Kahnum you can and should handle your hamster because what I've found is that the more I handled em, he got used to it. You could even use a hamster ball if you're too afraid to let him out.

After years and years of hamster owning I dropped my dwarf for the first time. He also launched himself off my hand. It was ‘only’ from about a meter high. He didn’t freeze and continued walking, so that’s good. When I put him back in his cage he immediately asked for the treat he knows he gets when he gets put back in the cage so I hope that means he’s okay.
He seemed a bit slow just now but he also just woke up so we’ll see tomorrow morning :(

When I was younger, I had dropped one of my hamsters on accident (I was around 8 or 9 at the time - I was like, 4'11 and dropped from belly-button height) and after waiting maybe 30 seconds to a minute, she was still not moving (breathing just fine and stuff), so we took her to the vet (very carefully) and it turns out her spleen ruptured. We had to put her down and lordie it hurt my heart so badly. I felt so horrible and didn't get a new hamster til about 6 months after the incident.

Edit: hamster has been passed away. This Mass on it's back started growing bigger and bigger until one day it "popped". We don't know how but it was ruptured. Inside was simply just this Hard black material. My dad tried cutting the mass off to try and save him. We couldn't see a vet because we don't have money for expenses. After a few days I noticed he was dying and that it was his final hours. He would just lay on the ground and barely eat or drink. At the very final hours he would have seizures and twitch. I went to sleep and woke up to his stiff cold body.

Accidentally dropped my hamster about two hours ago after only having her for two weeks. Ater a call to the vets, my mum and a good few sobs, this video and some advice from some Facebook groups I’m in have made me feel much more relaxed. my hamster just ran and jumped from my bed , and i went straight to this video 😟 she seems okay she is running on her wheel.
She dropped from a very high staircase balcony onto hard wood :( she was stunned for a few seconds but got up and had been running around. It's Saturday and no small "exotic" vets are open and my son is so nervous. Seeing this video seems to have helped calm him a bit (7 years old) so thank you for this post♥️

I don't think there's a way to tell the age of your hamster unless you know the actual day he/she was born.

maybe this tip well help you before you give your hamsters food or treats wash your hands and if you have other pets such as dogs or cats make sure that that area is clean and your hamsters cage and a nothere thing is how big is your hamster cage that may be causing the aggressive recation and that may help another thing is you can rub tolite paper on you and put that in the cage so they will get use to you so you can pick them up and can be comfortable or comfy and you can learn more tips at chocolatecolors26

ok well sense it's been a while, i suggest bathtub with towel at the bottom, let him get used to that surrounding for a few minutes then crawl in with him delicately, this gives a "neutral ground " because some hamsters are just generally cage territorial, you should start trying to tame him on the neutral ground by carefully putting a treat at the edge of your finger.

I’m watching this while crying because I was just sitting at the table with my parents and my hamster was close to the edge and I accidentally softly nudged her and she fell onto the ground and on her way down also bumped into my chair. She got so scared that she zoomed like a meter away from where she fell and also peed from stress. My dad saw that it was my fault and was quite mad at me. But she is currently moving around and burrowing a lot (probably from the adrenaline) and not limping or anything

I just dropped my dwarf hamster ;-; Her cage is like one meter above the ground and since she always crawls up her cage I wanted to get her down. Well she walked on my arm and fell to the ground and she was just laying there really flat and wouldn't move... I was so scared but now she's acting like nothing happened. After she fell I made sure to watch her for a while in case she showed any sign of being in pain but as I said, she just behaved normally. I know this is a scary experience but I wouldn't worry too much about your hamster. Try to see if there are any changes in their behavior and if you notice anything you can still go to a vet. I hope everything works out for you and your hamster

@@waynetay6846 She didn't squeak when I dropped her, that's actually why I thought she died. If they fall down somewhere it will, of course, be rather shocking for them, especially if it was a long fall and maybe that's the reason he squeaked. They also run in their wheel when they feel stressed but that's understandable after falling. May I know if he was in his cage or outside when he fell? And did he bite or struggle when you picked him up?
wen i was 13, i drop my hamster, she started to tremble and then she started to drop from both nose and mouth. i panicked, i plead my mom to take her to the vet, but she didn't feel like it and told me that she would die. I cried really hard, feeling bad for dropping my lovely pet, i just took her on a shoe box expecting the worst part. it happened like three hours until i realized that she was still moving, coughing sometimes, all of sudden she started to wash herself, still covered in blood. I was amazed, i just could believe that such a small creature could survive that, but at the same time, i was happy, happy as i can never recall before. I took her to her cage and put the water bottle and food plate next to her bed, so she wouldn't move to much. like a moth after that she appear to be fully recovered and was fooling around her cage just like ever. She died when i was 15, and now i remember her as one of the best pets i ever had, that's why i watch this kind of videos, because remind me her and how much i loved her.

Little update, I rang the vets and they've said he probably just in a bit of shock and needs time to calm down, I just need to keep an eye on him overnight and take him in if theres an emergency phew I was panicking so bad cos hes literally my world!

My Snowball was at the pet store for eight months. He is an albino Syrian. He was sent in with a large number of litter mates, and he was by far the sweetest. I love him so much! Poor thing, no one wanted him because of the fact that he was albino. All of his litter mates got homes very fast, but he, like I said, was there for eight months. The pet store employees took great care of him, and they all loved him. When I met him, they talked about how much they loved him and how sweet he was. They even offered to pay half of his vet expenses! He did nearly break his leg once, getting stuck in a cage tube. Now he lives in a bin cage.
From the moment we first got Snowball, he had a bit of a strange walk. One day, my mom was playing with him and putting him back in the cage, when he leaped out of her hands. He landed on his back and struggled for a moment, but after that he simply got up and went over and drank his water. He’s never shown any sign of real injury.

I would wait for at least an hour or two before trying to feed or picking him up so that he can recover. Maybe even apologize. Your hamster might also just be tired or not hungry.

I always check his foot when he does it and he doesn’t squeak in pain or anything. So is his foot asleep or a little injured? I would love to know

The fact that hamsters are small animals doesn't mean they don't deserve the same respect and attention larger animals receive.
While i was clean my robo hamster Gizmo’s tank she super jumped out of her box and landed on the floor. She landed on her back and wiggled around for a few seconds, she then sprinted around my room and it took my sister and I an hour to finally catch Gizmo. I was so worried that she might have broken something on her fall i had a mini panic attack. This video helped me calm down a bit since she wasn’t showing any signs. Hopefully she will be okay and i will keep a close eye on her.
I got my hamster 3 weeks ago... and my hamster and I were sitting on my couch and She Went crazy out a sudden and Jumped she landed hard and I Grabbed her I dont know what to do!

I remember around 2011, my sister dropped the hamster by accident and we were panicked because she didn't move at all but after a while she manage to move and survived. That's not all we were kids back then so we gave her a chocolate and not related to hamster food. Unfortunately, she died while me and my family trip to Batam. I am so responsible really and to this day i feel horrible what me and my sister did. :(

Thanks for the video. I dropped my winter white from about 5’ onto hard wood floors after she bit my hand. I didn’t mean too, the bit surprised me and I shook my hand not thinking just reacting. I thought for sure she was dead. She didn’t move for about 30 seconds. Then I seen a little movement. I will go into details in case it helps someone but other may not want to continue reading. She had landed on her head. Once she did move it looked like her front leg was broke, then she started bleeding from her nose and going into convulsions. I felt so stupid and bad for what happen. I had her for 27 months. I just knew she wasn’t going to make it and I started thinking what could I do to stop the pain. She was making a bunch of little squeals. After about 10 minutes she started getting a little more life. She started using the leg I thought was broken to clean her face. Her eyes still wasn’t fully open and her breathing was really fast. About 20 minutes after the fall the bleeding stop and she started breathing a little more normal. After about 30 minutes her eyes opened more and she stop making as much squealing. I put her in her cage too make her feel a little more comfortable. She sat for another 10 minutes or so. Then she finally started walking. She came to the door, looked at me, turned around and went down some pipes to her bed and went to sleep. I have checked on her every hour and so far so good. You never really know. Hoping she got lucky and will continue to be ok. You can search the web and get all kinds of answer, but it depends on height, hamster, and how it lands. All you can do is watch over them after a fall and keep them warm.
Ive had a hamster once... I was sleeping and she loved to stack up a bunch of her bedding on the top of her cage. I locked the door and slept with my dog i double checked her cage was closed and went to bed. I woke up at 1 am in the morning and her cage with the big bunch of bedding was wide open.... When i got to her i saw her drop... I was so paniced i picked her up... And i soothed her.. She died in my hands.... Simce that day i never bought another hamster...

Isabella M Turnbull I just dropped my hamster like 20 minutes ago and he was on my shoulder and I’m 5,3 😰 he hit the hardwood floor and was just laying there I started sobbing and like 10 seconds after my shock I picked him up and cuddled him till he started moving again then I just put him back in his cage and gave him a treat because I felt bad and now he’s running on his wheel and fine but all these comments are scaring me saying there’s died three weeks later 😳
It took me 2 hours to catch mine and I was so sad cause I could progressively see her getting more stressed 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I don’t know if I dropped my baby or if he jumped, it was terrifying either way. I quickly picked him up and started panic praying and put him in his cage. Now I know to leave him there for a few moments if it ever happens again. When I put him back in his cage he was walking and got some water before going into his burrows. He’s over 2 years old so I hope he’s ok, I’ll monitor him closely the next 24 hours, thankfully I have some money saved incase I do need to take him to the vet. I got a hamster yesterday and today I took it our of the cage to become better friends with it. When I started petting it, it ran out of my hand and fell straight onto the floor. It started running and I struggled to catch it and put it back in its cage. I started crying because I didn't want anything bad to happen to it. As it looks now, nothing happened to it, since it eats normally and everything and it didn't squeak or make sounds from the pain. Oh, how much I hope it's alright.
Literally dropped my dwarf hamster minutes ago and I'm so worried because it's the first time I dropped him and at 4 feet high too. 😢
He just froze for a few seconds and when I put him back in his cage, it's as if nothing happened and even asked for a treat. Will observe him for 24 hours, praying for no serious injuries. 🙏🏻
Yesterday, I offered my hand to my hamster and instead of just going on the palm, he ran up my arm in super speed mode. I was panicking as he happily explored all over my head and back, trying to lie down over his enclosure so he can fall inside and land on the soft bedding from as close as possible. Of course, he chose to jump that 40-50 cm from my backside on the hard floor instead.
Next time this happens, I am just lying flat on the ground and preparing mentally for chasing after him in my room.
I dropped my hamster today. He jumped out of my hand and then fell on the floor. After that he loomed around and i FREAKED. I watched him for hours and did NOT want to go to sleep. Now a week later he is totally fine. I am so happy!

One time my Robo hamster dash had escaped her cage, she fell down 13 stairs, and hid behind a bookshelf. 2 days later we could t find her anywhere, then my mom pulled out the bookshelf and there she was shivering in a ball, she regained all her health but unfortunately died a couple weeks later. Even though she was small, she was a pretty hardy little hamster

My hamster is called tinky, a beautiful albino dwarf hamster. I love her so much!
My hamster escaped from the cage and jumped of the closet it was on, a solid 1.5m fall, I saw it from the corner of my eye and she layed still for a bit. When I touched her she stood up and walked away. I genually cried and was anxious for about a week. Now she cannot escape anymore and she never showed signs of trauma.
I had a one year old compbell hamster. He was diagnosed with diabetes and I had to give him insulin shots twice a day and he was doing great. Today when I wanted to picked him up, he made a noise and bit me which is unusual for him. I accidentally dropped him, he started to scream and bitting me again. I realized he was bleeding from his neck. It is sunday and his vet was not open so until I found some vet, he passed away in just one hour. My sweet and cuddly baby...I think It was my fault and I don't know how I can handle it.
About a year ago my hamster escaped her cage and she was scared of me because she was very skittish. I had to get her so I cupped my hand over her and she tried to escape. she was half way out of my hand and I panicked and squeezed my hand to trap her and ended up squeezing her. She was completely fine, though I do not recommend doing that, she was fine so as long as you check on them everyday to make sure, they should be fine. I was very surprised at how tough she is

Bro my friend abuses her hamster, dresses it up, uses a critter trail,no herbs or veggies, Idk how it’s even alive. She dropped it down her 3 story spiral staircase. (Basement to attic) What should I do?
My first experience with my very first hamster was traumatizing. I got it 5 days ago. Transported it to my hotel room (we had travel ahead of us). I had placed him in his travel box with plenty of bedding, food and a toiler paper roll. So I open his cage to see if I can hang a water bottle there and it suddenly gets on top of the paper roll and jumps out of the cage and starts running around the hotel bed! I try catching him and then he runs off the bed and falls on the floor on its back! I panic ans inmediately grab it quickly, afraid it will run away and out of the room somewhere (tiny 3 month old dwarf, can easily fit even under the door). After having a panic attack and crying thinking it might be injured, I calmed down because I saw it moved normally like before. Thank God it's been fine but I think it got legit scared because despite being used to being handled at the pet store and even I pet it when I got it, it's been skittish of me and has been avoiding me since then. I dont lose hope though cause it's still just one week in.

My son's hamster just jumped out of my hands. She fell on her head and back on the hardwood floor from about a metre and was moving her legs slowly and closing her eyes a bit while on her back. I thought she was going to die. She lumbered away slowly but after a little a few minutes she seemed to get back to normal. Eating more and back on the wheel. Wish us luck.
I just dropped my hamster now. It wasn't her fault or mine or anyone's at all. I was with my sister to show her how my hamster has gained a bit of weight and she accidentally pushed my arm away and Mable ( my hamster ) fell onto the hardwood floor on the back of her head, the fall was I think between 1.2-1.3 metres from the floor. And she froze for a second or two and I quickly rushed to pick her up and started crying. I've had her for a year and half and I have never dropped her and she hasn't ever jumped from my hands. I noticed very quickly like within minutes that her eye size changed?? Her right eye got smaller and her left eye got larger, then it went back to normal. She is a female Syrian Hamster. Should I take her to the vets?? Please if anyone can suggest something that would be very helpful, thank you.

My hamster got his paw stuck in his cage today and I worried so much! He has been running around and the only difference from before is that he actually sits on me now? Like he wasn't tame before he got stuck but when I helped him out he instantly held on to me and now chills on my shirt

I accidentally dropped mine about 2 weeks ago and I FREAKED OUT. Picked her up right away which I definetly shouldn't have done and she sneezed a little because the place I accidentally dropped her was kind of dusty, but now she's completely fine and I'm so glad about that. I actually was so guilty and cried for 5 minutes XD
I’m watching my friend’s kids’ hamsters for a week and one of them jumped right out of my hand as I was trying to take it out of the cage. Froze feet up for 3 seconds then went on with his day. Worst 3 seconds of my life (and trust me, I’ve had a lot of bad things happen in life but telling my friends 4yo and 7yo their pet died would have been the worst).
I’m literally crying as I watch this video because my baby accidentally ran off my inside balcony after she jumped off my shoulder and it’s a 15 foot fall. I’m probably going to take her to the vet tomorrow because I’m petrified of having hurt her. She was running around afterward though. I’m also a new hamster owner and I didn’t realize how fast she could run. I hate myself :’))
