      @@StompItTutorialsI also like the way you are always positive but have a gentle calm personality - which is very reassuring. You come across as someone who is not judgemental of others - skiing is not a competition for you - you clearly want the best skiing / learning / enjoyment for those around you-whilst not judging people around you compared other skiers, and whatever their level. that is massively enabling for your students to maximise their learning - and a lot of ski instructors /
      Coaches don’t have that. I’m certain I’d enjoy skiing with you. Well done.

    Quick question for any ski-Lovers, how heavy are your skis? And how tall are you compared to the lenght of your skis? I have wanted to get into tricks for a while but feel like my skis might be to heavy/long for tricks like these. Currently on the lookout for new ones since my last pair snapped. Any help would be greatly appreacieted!

    @StompItTutorials EDIT: I´ve found your ski model: Atomic Bent 90. It is not fully symmetrical. To do all these tricks would you advice for a fully symmetrical ski with true center binding position? I´m 1.70 so I might try to find something in the range 1.50-160. Better closer to 1.50 or closer to 160? Thanks in advance mate!
    (Old text) what skiing boards are you using? It looks like you set up is fully neutral and nose and tail have exactly the same width, right? Amazing video. A few years ago I bough K2 Extreme boards and I though the shop owner was going to put the bindings almost neutral. I was very disappointed he put the bindings like any other ski and was fully convinced that it was the proper way, but I was not convinced at all. Next season I really want to try your setup. I already do inline skating and skate backwards. How can I know the exact length of the boards for my height? I´m 5'6" (170cm)

    I just discovered your videos by accident this week, while researching which pair of skis I'd be buying. Suddenly found myself a few videos deep. Love the work and vibe!
    I wonder if you could give me some advice. I'm a long-time skier and the last 10-11 years I've enjoyed the Nordica Ace of Spades (177, I'm 1,76m). I love going fast but also play around on and off the slopes from time to time (and as an amateur in the park). These skis are very stable and reliable but require quite some work in less-than-ideal ski conditions (long rear since I'm center-mounted). Now I'm thinking of getting a new pair with a bit more focus on slopes and I'm currently torn between the Atomic Redster Q7.8 or the Maverick 88. I'd love to still have a bit of the playfulness when I feel like it. Any thoughts?

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thank you. Of the two option the Q7.8 will turn way quicker with the tighter radius tight radius for a piste ski that is fun but the Maveric is a bit better on the side of the slope with shallow pow. If your looking for a piste ski for a piste ski. My current favorite is the X9S. Stiff, aggressive, tight radius but not too tight 15m is the sweet spot for me.

  • @alfonsomunoz5456
    @alfonsomunoz5456 Před 2 měsíci

    What is the length of your Bent 90? I´ve been investigating a bit and it looks great. Very light. I´m 1.70 and the Bent 90 is offered in the shop I´m looking at in two lengths: 157 and 184. I´m a bit afraid that 157 could be a bit short and 184 too long.
    EDIT: I just found that the other sizes are 166 and 175 version. I think the 166 could be the one for me. I just need to make my mind on the binding. The manufacturer offers a range of -4 (all mountain) to +6 (for park). Not sure if +6 is really true center but it must be very close. What is the position of your bindings?

      I dont dare to say. First just make sure your forward pressure is perfect. Second have someone film you from the side when you try to nosebutter standing still. If you only tip forward like a tree falling over a part of the issue lay on your way of doing it not so well. Try to roll up on the nose like explained here. czcams.com/video/m_Zjh2xHXOc/video.htmlsi=W3Meg5kaOvaICVPq&t=71
      As a life long freestyle skier I've experimented with slowly increasing and decreasing DIN settings to a point they come off when need to and stay on when I need them to. I have over-extended the knee a wee bit once due to the heel piece not coming off in powder otherwise I been ok. Remeber it can get real serious if the skis don't eject when they should so be very careful!

    • @alpenjodel24
      @alpenjodel24 Před 4 měsíci

      If your bindings release when doing manuals, butters and normal jumps, you are either riding a low DIN because you are a beginner, so focus on normal riding first, until you are comfortable riding a higher DIN, or your DIN settings are in fact way too low for your skill level. Your skis shouldnt release from butters or landing jumps if you are anything but a beginner.

I've found teaching the "platform" idea that you also explained in Tom Gellie's video to be the most helpful for most people learning. Also with 68 underfoot. Further return of the turn straight skis from Marcus caston is a great example of "if you are on top of it, the essential of the turn doesn't change" Is the goal to teach skiing and promote enjoyment on the mountain or to sell skis? :/

      Build your own. Me and my friends growing up on the Swedish north east coast we had to get creative and do it our self from time to time.
      Find some plastic tubes and build your own rails. Larger diameter is more fun say 2-4 feet across.

    Right, switch is not a trick; it's a style. What you're missing is an uphill carved C, which makes switch into a style.

    Watching this after fucking up my calf doing a 180 on my holiday hurts

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  Před 4 měsíci

      Sorry to hear that. You probably landed nose heave and not perpendicular to the landing enough. Practise 180s on a flat slope and try to land nice and up right. Extremly slowly increase speed and size of side hits then jumps. Only increase the size or speed if you still feel like your landing up right! Good luck and have fun out there. Consider stretching your calfs they are probably too tight, when they are ready for it.

    Don't try any of these silly moves unless you are an expert skier or you may
    a) injure yourself and/or
    b) crash into other skiers and injure them

      How do you think one becomes an expert? This stuff is really easy, it doesn’t take long to learn it if you practice a lot.

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  Před 4 měsíci

      I have not spent time thinking this statement through but my gut tells me it's not to far off. About 10 years of skiing every week during ski season. Yet most skiers never become expert. This is if this levels end with Pro after expert. I sadly will never reach pro in freestyle or racing.

      @@RaymondTusk74 Sorry I miss read and thought you asked how long to become an expert. How to, try to ski 50+ days per winter. Get coaching, do lots of self video analysis, actually try to get better every day you ski.
