    Thank you! Going to download the card now. Just returned from a month in Korea and being a vegan was SO difficult!! I agree that to say you have an allergy is the only way to get people to understand. Also, I do have a bad reaction when I have eaten dairy or cheese now since I have been vegan for quite a while, so saying I have an allergy is not entirely untrue.

      Yeah, Korea is SOOO difficult!! It’s sad that we can’t eat safely by only saying “I’m vegan”. To protect our physical and mental health, this method is the best one I could find.

    Thank you! It is very useful. In my country I use “allergy” as a lie as well, in other case people don’t take it seriously.

    I'm really allergic to milk and seafood and pork. In the states I just say I'm vegan. But in Kr ppl will still ask me if I eat shell fish. Thank you! I used this yesterday. It was so helpful! I was able to (safely) eat pad Thai with my friend.

  • @animalsarebeautifulpeople3094

    Veganism isn't a diet and its not about the rights of vegans. Rather, it's an ethical stance that recognizes the rights of non human animals to be left alone and not be forced into existence for miserable lives that end in a massacre just to satisfy something as frivolous as taste habits. Kreans need to learn more about the evils of animal agriculture. They have started to realize that eating dogs and cats is wrong but like most people in the west they are oblivious to the tragic and terrifying plight of farm animals due to their groundless prejudice that some animals were "meant to be abused" 😭😨😰 i hope one day someone as well meaning as you could step up to the plate and become the next Gary yourofsky, earthling ed or Joey carbstrong 😊☺

    Instead of doing this I just regularly ate stuff I knew was almost for sure vegan like bibimbap with just veggies and kimbap with just veggies. But if I had this I definitely would have used it if I was too lazy to explain haha. Honestly it makes for finding more interesting dishes like the one you ate kongguksu :) I had it only once in korea but I'm already planning on remaking it soon hehe :)) it's too bad it's mostly a summer food there tho

    I personally think that you should not tell a chef or restaurant that you have food allergies (certainly not "severe allergies) for get vegan and vegetarian choices. It could make life harder for people who actually have food allergies in the future.

    • @rajg825
      @rajg825 Před 4 lety +1

      Why do you feel that way? How would it make it harder? I'm curious.

    • @hariliveshere2193
      @hariliveshere2193  Před 4 lety +14

      Rover Dover Thank you for your opinion :) I can relate to your concern, yet I would still recommend this method because 1)some people go vegan because of ‘severe allergies’ or physical illnesses, 2) vegans will suffer not only physically, but also mentally when they consume animal product. Even if it’s not an allergic response, pain is pain. 3) showing this card can be a ground to sue when the restaurant gives you food with ill-intension. This is what I think. Pls feel free to leave me comment when you think differently!
