Out of all the protagonist (minus frontier protagonist) marcus is the only one to actual fight along side his partner, tamers protagonist gets points for supporting gilmon up until digivolution happens during every fight.

Loved Marcus because he was literally the man to say "So, your a god of death hell bent on destroying my world, your world, and every other world?" "Ight, ima straight up fight you myself, put up your dukes, I'm about to clock you out." He used a digimon partner, yea.. but I have yet to see many other Protagonists in Digimon straight up throw a right-hook at a random Digimon cause it was causing problems.
The interesting thing about Marcus is that he is brave but not stubborn and dumb. He is shown to be extremely battle smart. Thomas pointed this out during their search for Digmon. Marcus never went into a fight with the intention to lose -- he always made sure he was strong and well prepared enough. For example, Marcus immediately summoned the Geogreysword when he saw Dukemon low diff his teammates in mega form.
Size is kind of inconsistent. I remember digimons used to be smaller in the og compared to in the 2020 reboot. Also, petaldramon in frontier is a lot smaller than in the 2020 reboot.

Rookie Level Digimon in the Savers/Data Squad universe are a lot bigger. In the Adventure PSP game Marcus and Agumon thought Tai’s Agumon was a fake because of how much smaller he was.
Say what you want about how Adventure 01 and Tamers are better (which they are) but I don't care man I unironically love this season so damn much. Favorite Digimon MC in the whole series as well.

This is my first time hearing this Agumon on the english dub. I only got exposed to these characters on the Digimon World DS games and I got a hint what this Agumon would sound like via the dialogue. I never expected it was so close to what my headcanon sounds like. I was thinking a bit higher pitch like Bowser Jr in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
@@chimaeraarts agumon is the same in adventure 2 because he's still Tai's Agumon in that. There might have been another that showed up at some point as a throw away digimon but for the most part we mostly only see 1 Agumon in both series 1 and 2 where he has a higher pitched voice.

I'd recommend it if you love the eng rock ost and the eng VAs but want to see all the cool censored blood and guns lol
Massaru (Marcus in the dub) was a hit and miss for me. For one part, I liked that he wanted to fight with his digimon partner, on the other side, he had a flawed sense of justice and didn't think anything. All the Data Squad had the same problem, Yoshino was weak, simply weak. And while Massaru had some flaws, we had Tōma Norstein that was a typical perfect child with a tragic past, but overall, not very interesting.

Massaru (Marcus in the dub) was a hit and miss for me. For one part, I liked that he wanted to fight with his digimon partner, on the other side, he had a flawed sense of justice and didn't think anything. All the Data Squad had the same problem, Yoshino was weak, simply weak. And while Massaru had some flaws, we had Tōma Norstein that was a typical perfect child with a tragic past, but overall, not very interesting.
