Best Food in Singapore | Chilli Crab No Signboard, Maxwell Hawker Centre, Durian

The day begins with another search for the best food in Singapore.
Seeing as our plan was to have a yummy lunch at the Maxwell Food Centre (or Maxwell Hawker Centre) and then a seafood feast at No Signboard Restaurant, we decided on a simple breakfast of curry puffs from Killiney Curry Puff.
We were hungry for comfort food for lunch so we made a bee-line for
Maxwell Food Centre. This is a world famous destination foodie spot that everyone travelling around Singapore (and locals) will always visit. Located in Chinatown, it is a hawker centre with some of tastiest stalls you will ever try.
Today, we had the chicken rice set from Ah Tai Hainanese Chicken Rice for $5, and the Lor Ark (braised duck) rice set for $5 from the Oriental Duck Stall.

Word of warning, if you come at lunch time, it may be nigh impossible to find a seat/table. Pre-Covid it was acceptable to share a table with strangers. In today's "normal" it may not be advisable.
Then for dinner...well, it was truly a gastronomic experience. For weeks and months prior to us visiting Singapore, mum would whatsapp me and cement in "make sure No Signboard is on our food schedule".
Of course whatever mum wants, mum gets. Let me tell you, my mum knows GOOD food. I've never been a fan of chilli crabs in the past and would almost never order it. However, No Signboards chilli crab deserves the title of Chilli Crab Legend. It was SUBLIME. The best I've ever eaten!
We also ordered sambal sotong (squid) and razor clam. Both of which were utter culinary perfection. Perfectly cooked, tender, and so flavourful. Wow wow wow.
Of course what meal would be complete without Durian? Seeing as we were so full, we ordered only one Red Prawn durian and 2 kg of Mangosteen. YUM!
I want to move to Singapore purely for food.
