    ------
Tableau Prep is a rapidly evolving tool. Old methods of transposing values in Tableau Prep are already outdated! With the inclusion of the new Rank function in Tableau Prep calculations, it’s no longer necessary to create a pivot field outside of Tableau Prep. This is great news because it means every step in transposing your data can now be done in Tableau Prep! Check out the video below to learn how.

very useful video, thank you very much! If we had wanted to transpose the dates too, to have the columns date job 1, date job 2 and date job 3. How would you have done it? on the same pivot?

You're welcome! I think I'd create a separate branch and pivot step for the dates. Then you can pivot the dates in a similar fashion and join them back on the employee id. Does that work?

Thank you very much ! I did it in the same branche, I added one transpose before the aggregation. Then i aggregated all the columns at once !

This is great! I'm trying to achieve something like this but after this step, I want the user to be able to filter on the employee ID (in this case) and see only those columns. Can this be done through Tableau desktop?

Thank you! Are you thinking of something like Row-Level Permissions? onenumber.biz/blog-1/2018/11/20/setting-up-row-level-permissions-in-tableau

@@onenumbertableau Thank you for your response! This is what I'm trying to achieve -
Employee ID Employee Name Title Department
      1 John Data Analyst Analytics
      2 Mike Manager Production
      3 Taylor Systems Engineer. Production
      4 Ron Data Engineer Analytics
      5 John Director Sales
Filter on Employee Name: Ex. John
      Output Visualization:

      Employee #1 Employee #2
      Employee ID 1 2
      Employee Name John John
      Title Data Analyst. Director
      Department Analytics Sales

@@akshayasundar5435 I've never really seen anything done like this in Tableau desktop. I guess you could use a Parameter to swap the column reference? (Like this: onenumber.biz/blog-1/2022/3/1/how-to-swap-a-field-with-a-tableau-parameter).
What is your use case? Why are you structuring your data like this?
