I haven't tested mine a lot yet, but I used a wine bottle cork instead of a dowel rod. I was careful drilling the hole, but no sanding needed it'll push right into the pvc pipe :)
That's a good idea!! Thanks!
Did it end up working ?

MrCoop can I get a link to that motor thanks
@@faithwiegand420 copy and past at Amazon or Ebay
MrCoop do you happen to sell these?
i used 2 of the synchronous motors for my tumbler turner, one got hot and it stop working......so i purchased a small 3x3 fan motor and installed in back of motor.....it works great..keeps motor cool....!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I just finished mine and it works perfect!!
"It fits perfect right on the shaft!"
That's what she said!
usually dimensions go LxWxH ( L & W are interchangble but Height or thickness is mostly at the end) but at least you labeled, great video!
much more entertaining then most Mr.Coop.....
those other guys nearly made me nap
What a handy man!💕💕💕
Awesome video!
I bought one off Facebook market place then saw your video....I'll be building one also....thank you!!!
Can you show how to make one of these with individual motors for multiple cups?
Great video thank you.
That was a great video!🤗
I haven't finished watching but just in case I forget and may not learn the answer, is the pipe inside the box, the same as the pipe used on the coupler?
I DID IT!!! SUCCESS! I did make a modification to the top piece by adding 2 small hinges so if I need to get to the wiring, it’s easy access! Also! Does that motor go in both directions?
Thank you so much for this video and walking us thru it. It helps a lot. Now I know what else I need get, before my motor gets here by the end of the month.
@mrcoop any tips on how to make this into a multi cup turner with individual motors?
This was amazing and seems easy enough to do. Thank you!
I made an attachment arm for my turner to turn ink pens for epoxy.
Thank you for the video If you don’t mind me asking could you list the tools you used to build one of these?
YOU ARE AMAZING!! Thank you for this video
Thank you for posting this video. It was easy to follow to me. This looks nice.
Thanks for the great detail video. What kind of motor did you use?
Pined in the comments and links listed above in the description..
Can you do a multi-cup turner video? That actually spins the cups, not just rotating one arm with multiple cups lol. Or would the process be the same as this and just each section on a larger piece of wood?
Thank you for the detailed instructions. 🙂
Can you please provide a list for each item and size? i keep feeling like i’m missing something
Thank you so much showing me what to do...
Great video
Where do you get the motor?
Do you sell these that we could just purchase from you?
I do. Any style/configuration you'd like. Let me know and we can work something out for you and whoever else wants to buy one
@@jhojho1679 How anout a 5 cup turner? Price for it?
I need 1 also how much?
@@jhojho1679 how can we purchase a single one
Amanda Dearing a single cup turner? The only single cup turner I have at the moment is a higher quality spinner mechanism on it, so it would be 100$ but I could do a cheaper one that I normally sell to people for just 40$ .
Great video !! Thanks for sharing the info..
good video but shouldn't the one board for the top be longer by a 1 inch at least?
No
What is the purpose of putting the motor on the outside of the box? It's not like you want the PVC pipe to actually drag against the holes in the wood anyway.
great video thank you
What is the purpose for the female coupling?
Muito top
Awesome video! Making mine right now! Questions.... how long is the dowel rod? And I don’t have metric drill bits. What size should I drill in the dowel rod? Thank you!!!
Great video-thanks! What type of tumblers do you use?
I made the same thing following the instructions but it makes a lot of noise while turning. I think its because when I put a cup on the pipe, the weight makes the pipe scrape against the wood. Do you have any suggestions on how to reduce the noise?
Hey Mr.Coop, how long is the dowel rod? 1inch or more?
What size are the drywall screws or it doesn’t matter as long as it goes through both boards?
A old vacuum motor works great too
Can you show us how you drilled the dowel rod in the center?
Mine keep getting off center and wobbling, causing the Turner to be un even
What do you put sold the motor in the PVC pipes together
what was the 3/4 coupling for? and how do i use this once i make it?
If I'm using a 3/4 PVC pipe how big of a wood but should I get? I used a 3/4 inch and the pvc wouldn't fit.
MrCoop, thanks so much for this it is exactly what I needed to know to get started. I had a general idea of what I needed to construct but had no clue about what type of motor to use. I have 2 questions please, first the motor is listed as 2.5-3.5rpm, that seems awfully slow to me so I just want to be sure the link hadn't changed. My other question is construction related, I hate wasting an entire dowel for 1 lousy inch, any suggestions on what else I could use to attach the motor assembly to the pvc rod? Thanks a bunch
These 2.5 to 3 rpm motors are what have been used since the beginning of the turner world. Some folks use faster ones and like them. Myself I like the slower ones the epoxy works better leveling out in my opinion. As for the dowel. They are cheap and you can use more of it if your decide to make new turners. The cost is worth buying it.
@@MrCoop thanks hun. I have made my first one and it works great. I thought the motor would be slow but its perfect. Thanks so much for the tutorial. I did go a slightly different way with attaching the motor to the pvc, I drilled the hole in the board with the motor a little larger, then used a cotter pin that went through a hole drilled in the pvc pipe and then through the hole on the shaft. Hammered the pin flat and it doesn't bind. Without a drill press it was impossible to drill that hole perfectly
Hello I would like to purchase a Turner made for when I design vases' vase's ....vase🤷🏾♀️
So with the box glued and nailed how do you change the motor out when it starts going out?
The motor is attached to the back of the box. Everything should slide right out through the holes drilled for the pipe.
Can you put the motor inside of the box for a more clean look? Or do you think the motor would over heat?
I like them outside of the box. They get hot so I would rather have them outside.
Do I purchase both motors(via link) or just pick one?
Hi. Where do you buy your tumblers? I'm trying to find them for a reasonable price,
Love it fast and easy
My wife is asking me to make this for some of her projects. Good video but just wondering what you are using to put on the end of the PVC pipe to hold the cups??? I'm guessing a pool noodle or cut some foam?
Yes I like the pool noodles. Here is the video for that one.. HOW TO MAKE A Less Than $25 Tumbler Turner Handle czcams.com/video/LYoDELlKrX0/video.html
Some people use mini nerf footballs.
What is the purpose of the turner?
Can you please share the measurement to the turner.. I have had my 3 motors almost a week :-(
where can i buy the rotary motor sir.
Good vid would have been nice to see how cup was attached??
Theres another video on how to do that
Hello, I followed your video instructions and my Turner has a vibration at one point in the turning cycle. Have you ever had this happen and is there a fix?
Did you ever find out what causes it to vibrate? Mine does as well.
So it's only $25 if you already have the necessary things like the table drill and forstner bit?
My turner keeps stopping and has ruined my 1st cup. And ideas on why it would stop
It is out of alignment
If I use 1/2 inch PVC what size dowel would you recommend
Could you make a video showing you applying the epoxy?
Where did you purchase all of the supplies? Lowe’s? Home Depot?
So how long is the dowel rod
Can you make a video where you fully complete it please
Whats the best way to drill the big holes? I dont have a machine like yours.
This is going to help me..
Do you sell them? If so I would like to purchase one you built
I am getting ready to make one for my wife this weekend. If all goes well, I am sure it will, I can make you one as well and ship it to you. If you think you might be interested let me know and I can tell you how much I would charge for it.
The wheel switches listed are currently unavailable.
Wondering if you know if there is a battery operated motor vs plug... or what I need to look for in such motor (possibly moving to a 220v country and would love my turner to work no matter where I live)
i would love to purchase one from you if you are still offering to sell them
And to think I almost paid $250 for one. Thanks for this vid
wth? who was charging that?
Yea got my motor today. So I'll have my cup spinner sooner than I thought
Chrystal Hardee where did you get the motor?
Yes, where did you purchase the motor from?
I ordered it on Amazon
Chrystal Hardee Hi what's the name of the motor
Where did you get your motor from
The most important part is the motor but you didn't mention where to buy it what type and cost. Still a good video.
Look in the description box just under the video for a list of supplies and where to purchase.
Thank you for sharing!!!!
So what was the purpose of the 3/4 inch coupler? I watched several times and it was never used.
My guess, it gets glued to the pipe end coming from the box this way it's easy to screw multiple attachments to
What do you use the coupling for?
Thank you for this great video.... made ours last night put a cup on, epoxied and loved it, but woke up this morning to the motor not working and my epoxy dried with drips so it apparently didn't stay on long. Any suggestions of what could have happened?
The motor used in this video is basically the same motor used in your microwave to turn your food while it's hearing. It's not meant to stay turning for hours. The motor gets to hot and stops working. The best motor for cup turners are rotisserie motors, the kind you find on grills. They are $25-$35 a piece but they will run for hours and hours and hours and never fail you. So it's worth the price to pay so as not to ruin a cup, epoxy, time and then time spent to strip the failed cup.
Just look on CZcams for how to make rotisserie multi cup turners or single turners. Whichever your looking for. Hope this helps.
Good luck.
what size is the pvc pipe?
What size is the tube that you stuck to the motor? That I didn’t hear sorry. And Ty
Where do you get a motor at.
I would like to know what size motor you used? Ty
Link pinned in the description.
How long did you cut each side of the PVC pipes?
Hey coop i subd your channel! Like your vids! This one im a bit confused about. For hole bit, drill bit, c clamp, motor, all that wood and screws is less then 25 bucks?
The turner itself is less than $25. The tools do not count as they are not part of the turner.
The parts to build it is less then $25.
More for the tools.
What spec does the cord need to be because the one listed are unavailable? Can the cord with switch already attached be used?
Any cord will work
Hi Mr. Coop! Did you see my previous post about the length of the wooden dowel rod? I really want to finish this project so I can make my first tumbler. Thank you!
You just need a 1 inch piece of dowel rod and a 9/32 drill bit
MrCoop Thank you!!!
MrCoop 9/32 or 9/64
Where do I purchase the motor I saw you said amazon but what type of motor do I search? All the ones I find are $50+ could you possibly put a link to it?
We made this as a cup turner for myself but the motor is getting extremely hot. What type of cable do you attach this to so that it works longer than just a couple of uses?
Been using ours for over a year with no issues. They motors all get hot no way around it. Just the way they are designed.
MrCoop thank you so much for your version of the cup/tumbler turner. I do have a question. Is it possible to create a multiple horizontal turner for 2 or more cups using the same motor?
You can make then horizontal. But your would need a lot more complicated construction. I'll have a carousel wheel 4 cup turner tutorial coming out soon..
I’ll be waiting to see the carousel one
Mr. Coop have you made the carousel turner yet?
Can you use a microwave motor and a multi cup Turner and if you can how big of a microwave motor do you need I'm looking to build a 3 or 4 cop minimum I would like to do a 6 cop just because that's how I usually do one but I want to build my motor and looking for suggestions thanks
Thank you for this! Going to try this after Christmas!
Hi, I have a question about making a cup turner. My daughter wanted to see if I could make her a couple of these for her. I was able to locate the motors and cords with inline switches. Making the wooden base and box was not a problem, also glueing the dowel rod inside the pvc pipe. My biggest problem, which you don't really show, is how do you drill the hole for the shaft of the motor dead center of the dowel? I have been able to find exact center of the dowel, but even using a drill press, it seems that the drill bit tends to follow the wood grain and is never centered. Then when used, it turns like egg shaped and binds in the holes in the box. Please help and let me know how you are drilling these. Thanks
I used a wood lathe to drill mine. There are videos on CZcams that show you how to drill a center hole. Your best bet is find a local pen and wood turning group. Those guys would probably drill your 7mm hole and turn them down to the size you need to fit the pipe for free. If they did charge you it would be only a few $$.
Is it 3/4” pvc males and females and 10” piece ?
9:20 "...you hook the 2 together". What wires do you hook together, the blue ones together with the brown cord? May you please clarify this for me? Thanks.
Two wires from the plug and switch and two wires from the motor. Connect one plug wire to one motor wire. Then connect the other two. It doesn't matter which one you connect as long as it is one from the plug and one from the motor. It is operating on AC power which is alternating current and therefore no need for negative/positive wires. You will notice that when you start it and stop it, it will spin in either direction.
@@GDubSupreme Thanks. I'll do it.
What kind of motor?
I don’t have a lamp cord can I use the extension cord?
Is it normal for the motors to get super hot and vibrate loud enough to be disturbing? We made 2 of them and have had constant issues. We used the items you linked to in Amazon store.
Yes they get hot all of them do.
thank you for your video ? on the cut wood is that 1x6 literal or 3/4x 5 1/2 and same on the 1x 4 or 3/4 x 3 1/2 thank you
For the long wood it would be 1in thick by 6 in wide by 20in in length so that would be 1x6x20
Same with the small wood
1x4x5
Does the top piece needs to be 5 1/2 inches? because the boards are 3/4 inch thick plus the 4 inch width is 5 1/2.
If you watched the video you will see all the woof for the box is the same exact size. If you feel it is wrong cut it your way and get back to me on how well it worked out for you..
Do I need to buy the cord and switch separately? Can I use one that already comes as one piece?
Look in the description box just under the video for a list of supplies and where to purchase
Thank you for showing me how to make this do you have a list of the matwrials i will need
