Those videos and hearing Courtney on Joe Rogan's podcast were so impactful for me as I was getting started running and eventually onto the trails.
The respectful nature Ethan has in regards to Summits is so humbling and 🕊 peaceful to witness.

This is a great video. Almost like footage for an REI commercial. Can't tell if it's really green there already, or just a wide abundance of pines...
It's already green... Mostly. Two Sundays ago it snowed half an inch about 9:00 up at the top and made for beautiful scenery on the Little Summit Trail. And again yesterday, the same thing, but not as much snow. But yes, everything it's green already.

I have the misfortune of living on Orcas Island. Most Sundays I'm on the Cold Springs trail from the lake to the summit. Yeah. I know. My life sucks. 😁 The run looked like a lot of fun. I've done some trail running, but I never thought of myself as a trail runner as I'm usually hiking the more vertical sections. Watching your video I see that most people seemed to be doing the same thing. When I look at my Strava hiking times I'm faster than a large number of the runners. Now I'm really confused. Where's the dividing line between hiking and running? What constitutes being a trail runner? Thanks for posting such a great video. It really captures the feeling of being out on the trails.
You sure live in one beautiful place!! I cherish every trip I get to make to the island. As for who's a trail runner - I pretty much define it as anyone who runs on a trail. The speed at which they do it is irrelevant :) There's certainly a majority of trail runners who enjoy power hiking the climbs and bombing the downhills. A handful might run the ups, but depending on steepness and terrain, they might not be saving much time :)
