Great Western Railway On Board Announcements

- Automated on-train announcements from GWR's IET fleet (voiced by Janine with additional safety announcements by David Sheppard) and from the 15x & 16x fleet's TrainFX system (voiced by Faye - now replaced) on the Bristol - Westbury line. I do not own the original audio.
I've edited out most of the long gaps between the announcements on the IET fleet so this video is a suitable length. Apologies for some quiet/muffled recordings in the second part of the video. The speakers on the 15x fleet have never been that good!

The future aspiration is to have a Part 2 featuring TrainFX announcements from the Thames Valley, West and Devon/Cornwall areas.

spent a year in England, miss the time deeply, loved the train rides before and after a day trip

I think having a jolly voice is nice on trains, I don’t know why people really don’t like justines announcements
It’s not Justine, you must be thinking of LNER announcements. The GWR announcements used to have Faye Dicker, now it’s Janine Cooper-Marshall 😅
If your a regular commuter it can be annoying
as well as the absolutely awful speakers on the 80x series
Her voice is very friendly and welcoming

Janine sounds much better than Faye honestly. Which I thought Faye was a lot better than Trisha Jarman's chatterbox-like sounding files, but this voice is perfect for GWR. Imagine if First Great Western had Janine as their onboard automated announcement voice, which most of their fleet needed it badly until they were refurbished to GWR paint. I do wonder what the 165/166 trains' voice was until GWR took over.
@@natesmainlinevids I found Faye’s announcements hilariously odd, the voice continuity was also rather bad. I’m not sure about pre-FGW but Michelle Beazley was the voice before Faye Dicker. I think Faye sounded okay on the 387s, but pretty bad on everything else.

Janine does have a slightly eccentric voice
I think she has a lovely tone to her voice. I think she'd make a good station announcer on a professional Amey or KeTech system (if she spoke a little faster)
