- Kristen and Vivian react to Wreck-it Ralph, 2012 Disney animated film that follows video game villain Ralph, played by John C. Reilly (Winning Time, Kong: Skull Island, Step Brothers), who becomes tired of just being the bad guy and decides to embark on a mission to become a hero, by whatever means necessary, and crosses paths with fellow misfit game character Vanellope von Schweetz, (Sarah Silverman - Bob's Burgers, Maestro, Don't Look Up), as the two form an unlikely alliance to prove they're more than what they were programmed to be,
The film is directed by Rich Moore (Zootopia, Futurama), and also stars Jack McBrayer (Big Mouth, Amphibia, 30 Rock), Jane Lynch (Only Murders in the Building, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Glee), Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien, Rogue One, Firefly), and Mindy Kaling (The Morning Show, Velma, The Office).

There's a theory that King Candy was an actual character in the game (since Vanellope was a princess), and that Turbo altered the king's code, turning *himself* into King Candy.

Her backstory is even more messed up when you remember that those bugs turn into whatever they eat. Meaning that she had to shoot at a creature that was wearing the face of the man she loved (who was just eaten in front of her, ultimately having to kill him again)

The nicelanders, especially Eugene, are the true villains of the show. Seriously, all these events happened because they are not even civil enough to Ralph. Yes, he is clumsy and wrecks stuff; but they have Felix who could fix all of that in an instant for free, so that is a non-issue.
You have your home destroyed (and in Gene's case get yeeted a half mile onto concrete) have bricks fall on you on an hourly basis.
Sure, you regenerate but you still go though it OVER AND OVER.
And Ralph is the one who does this. Because it's his job.
Resenting all of this is a rational response. It might not be nice (ironically) or productive, but it's a very "human" reaction.
Maybe instead of Badanon, the video game community needed NPC group therapy.

I think seasoned actors (like the nicelanders) should be able to do this easily too. Like most WWE wrestlers.
Maybe they really do not like Ralph the person, which actually says more about them than Ralph, because I don't see any real major problem in Ralph personality.
I met Alan Tudyk (King Candy) a few years ago. He was super nice and even said the line, “Have some Candy!” for me. Super hilarious
The direction of having him do a Charles Nelson Riley impersonation was certainly an interesting choice
@@ScallycowellI believe the voice he was imitating was Ed Wynn, famous vaudevillian, early days of radio and TV, and played many other characters from the Twilight Zone TV show to the Mary Poppins movie. He had a very distinctive voice. His son Keenan Wynn was in more movies and TV shows than you could count, including a very famous role in Dr. Strangelove.
How were you able to meet him?? He died at the end of the movie... You're lying.
He does a lot of cool voices like duke weselton in frozen, duke weiselton in zootopia, the chicken in Moana, tuk tuk in raya and the last dragon, and Valentino in wish to name a few

Not the biggest Disney dude, but it’s a life goal to play one of the real Fixit Felix Jr. arcade cabinets. Also, this movie makes me shed big man tears every single time.

John C Riley nailed this. This was definitely a role he was made for :) My daughter and I saw this together because we both love video games; we didn't realize it was more or less father / daughter movie. My daughter is like Vanellope. She is girl has tom boy likes and I felt like Ralph at times as fathers we can feel a "bit" like Ralph with our children as we are learning to parent as much as they are learning their way through life. Emotional. Yeah that ending my daughter and I were even teary eyed when Ralph chose to dive to the volcano :) My daughter absolutely loves this movie.
Outside of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Ready Player One, and Pixels, this has some of the most licensed characters in it from other companies. Fans only benefit when studios agree to work together like this.
Yeah compare that to the sequel that had a lot of crossover characters but mostly just from Disney properties so it felt more like product placement or flaunting how many things they own than fanservice that works in this world. And less game characters too (no Mario characters in the sequel)

I just realized that the moment Ralph starts siding with Vanelope is when she’s pushed in the mud, which probably reminded him of what happens every time Felix defeats him in his own game. And at the end, when they both land in the chocolate mud, he’s gained a new outlook on his role in the game and in his life.
On the second watch of the movie knowing the twist you notice that turbo and the king had the same voice

This will always be one of my favorite animated movies. This definitely took me back to my childhood with the racing games of old. Awesome reaction ladies. Love all the characters in this movie
This is actually probably one of my top 3 fav Disney/pixar movies ever. I’m an adult, but I play it every night to fall asleep to, I know all the words so my brain can just relax to it and it gets me to sleep quick. I like the second one a lot too, but this one is still the best and the one I watch most.
This was my first comfort movie for my adhd. I can remember every line word for word 😁 such a beautiful story

I remember re-watching this with my daughter when she was 5 and she was terrified of Turbo-Bug. But we love this movie.
Ralph was never the "bad guy", he was sleeping in his "house" and someone else throw him away from his property!!
He just wanted his land back!!
I couldn't believe that this was a Disney film..clever story and in-jokes,no sappy songs every ten minutes..I was convinced it was the product of another animation company.Who'd a thought?(Fairly sure there's a spelling mistake in there).Love this movie..whoever is responsible.
As a kid, watching Wreck-It-Ralph the first few times, Turbo didn't give me actual nightmares, but I did stay up at night thinking that if I close my eyes, Turbo would appear when I open them. Now that I'm a young man, seeing Turbo and insectoid King Candy is just uncomfortable.
This movie does give a good concept of the life inside arcade games. It’s really good and fun. I definitely recommend it.

Fun fact-Ralph had to go Turbo to destroy Turbo we were too busy with the story to notice it but he had good reasons to do it which makes him the opposite of going Turbo. I wonder what is that. Going Supercharger maybe.

This movie, Wall-E, and A Bug's Life are my favorite animated films if you don't count hand cartoon animation which would also put Hercules in that top spot.

This first movie was really good and had alot of nice callbacks to old video games but the second just became bad when it wasn't about video games no more and instead became about dumb internet memes and Disney franchises. which at that point lost the whole identity of what this franchise was supposed to be which was a love letter to video games old and new. Well at least the first the part of this movie at least. The rest of it kinda deters from the video gamy aspect of it.
Mostly because it gave Vanelope an arc whereby she would take responsibility for what she'd been putting Ralph through but instead, they ellected to make Ralph the main character again, take responsibility for all of Vanelope's screw ups and give her what she wanted (to go Turbo) with NO consequences. In effect, it was a proto-woke movie that wasn't so bad as to be a dumpster fire, but not good enough to be just lazily written.

One of my favorite animated movies. The games in the movie were popular way before you were born. Pacman was very popular in the early to mid-80s. I still play it not very good at it but it's fun!

The guy who lives in the Penthouse of Ralph's game, Gene, is the biggest asshole in the movie by a mile. He chases Ralph off by basically challenging him to go win a medal, and then when he does that he acts like its all Ralph's fault he didn't just stay and continue to eat endless shit from him forever. I used to work in an electronics store, we had several large TVs that played a loop of animated movies, since they were family friendly and showed off the TV's colours well. Wreck it Ralph was on that loop, so all us workers watched it dozens of times. We very quickly zeroed in on what a complete douche canoe Gene was. So much so that our short hand slang for asshole customers became "Gene". Like literally I'd come in and someone would say "Had a real Gene in about an hour ago trying to return a scratched up phone with no receipt." lol

I'm sure you would enjoy the 2007 film, "Death At A Funeral." Alan Tudyk walks around naked throughout the second half of the movie.

I think Zangief is not a bad guy on the Japanese version of Street Fighters, i never saw him with the group that are the villains on that franchise, i think on the US version of the game they make him a bad guy just because he's Russian
