Really glad you are enjoying the Eurovision content. Enjoy your reactions too. Hope you get to explore the diversity of ESC even more, especially the visuals. Remember, at the end of the day, this is a TV show and visuals count for a lot. Here are a couple of recommendations :Sweden 2015: czcams.com/video/5sGOwFVUU0I/video.html and Russia 2016: https//czcams.com/video/e94dst20C9Y/video.html By the way, if you can't access videos try using a VPN, that should give you full access to all ESC content

Hey man, I think you will appreciate this song czcams.com/video/1xrCocjmv7w/video.html Jaguar Jonze is an alternative indie rock artist that came 6th in Australia's selection 2020, but Eurovision fans all wanted her to win. She is very edgy - the song is about her complex PTSD

Australia started taking part in Eurovision in the 60 year of the competition and it has been broadcast to Australia for decades so they were invited.

Also, this performance is the perfect example why you should watch real Eurovision performances instead of national final, because before the contest, this song was not that popular, but after seeing the whole package/performance on stage at rehearsals, many even thought it could win. She came 9th at the end :)
And yes, the very great thing about Eurovision is that there is no limits as far as style of music, literally anything goes and was most likely done at some point.. well except only instrumental ones, there must be at least some lyrics in it :)

Such an underrated 9th place! She deserved at least Top 3. Amazing vocal, can you imagine yourself singing that way moving on a pole 5 meters high above the ground? And she's gorgeous with that white dress! Dami Im is my favorite, but Kate is very close behind

Australia was watching the streams of Eurovision for years. Eurovision organisers noticed and invited Australia as a guest in 2015 for their 60th contest. They loved Australia's performance, and have been invited back since but now must compete like the other countries.

Kate Miller-Heidke is a brilliant singer. She's classically trained and a professional song-writer having written and sung in operas and musicals and she's recorded numerous brilliant contemporary pop albums. She often writes and performs with her husband, singer and guitarist, Keir Nuttall with whom she co-wrote new music and lyrics for the musical theatre version of Muriel's Wedding. Anyone who loved her Eurovision performance should check out her songs and albums which are superb!

Yes, you got the right one this time! :)
Australia has been watching and loving Eurovision ever since the 80s, but since they are not member of European Broadcasting Union (EBU), they were not allowed to compete. Due to continued popularity, EBU first decided to invite them to perform as interval act in 2014, and every year since that, they got invitation to compete, up until at least 2023.

@@datboireggie5285 I totally agree with you :) They must have been happy, when they finally got the green light to be a part of it. Especially, after they filmed a short segment that was aired during Eurovision in 2013, showing us in Europe how much they appreciate the contest. Actually, Australia (through SBS) has been a member of the EBU since 1979. So they should have been eligible to compete ever since then. They didn’t because though they were a member of the EBU, they weren’t actually European.
But neither is Israel. So if they’re allowed in, Australia should be too. Though if Australia wins, they don’t host the next year, mostly because the financial and logistical issues with being on the other side of the world. I’m not sure if they would nominate a European country to host, or if hosting goes automatically to whoever comes second.
