Turbo!! Turbo!! Turbo!! It's perfect
It'll be out Friday!
@@RedBeardsGarage can not wait!! Love the vids brother!!
@@RedBeardsGarage imagine if you could put. A stage 4 be cool but maybe won’t fit
That's a dang diesel dingo if I've ever seen one
Things a turd how
You can also remove half the springs on the juggernaut to decrease the stall rpm. That and heavier weights should get you to that 700 rpm stall.
Need to drop one on a mini bike. Then when you go out with Gopowersports to Colorado for the Mini Bike endurance race. That way you wont have to refuel as often as the modded Predators.
And it could probably handle a little turbo to pep it up some more.
My cars engine uses a VNT which adjusts the turbo speed for spooling and then boost. Perfect for this little engine
Someone on reddit r/minibikes has done it check it out! He hits about 30mph I think bit slower than gas but I bet it's better at hill climbs and fuel mileage
@@karlg1535 the warped perception guy did it on his go kart a while ago but haven't seen many other little diesels with little turbs on them. I love the idea tbh. 😆
Don’t tell him what to do
I love it! Since diesels usually have twice the torque, I think you should put the heavy weights in the juggernaut AND put a much smaller sprocket on the axle. That should give you plenty of juice to take off and some more speed.
I discovered the exact engine on eBay a couple of month's ago. Been eyeballing the smaller 3HP one for my mini bike. The ol Tecumseh HS35 is still running good for now. Sounds like a good excuse to buy myself a new mini bike roller though.
Skipped cars and cameras video for this bad ass dude
Can't wait for the video of the modifications to the engine.
Buddy has one on his Baja minibike! It’s a sweet build but he def needs a torque converter setup. But even strait chain it’s fun to ride!!
Good idea with the turbo, but since rpms are so low im wondering if it’s gonna make usable boost with such a slow pulse of exhaust from the engine. Maybe a supercharger like the 670 buggy with the stack instead? 👀 rolling coal is cool but makes temps high and power low!
It's not the pulses or flow of exhaust gases that push the turbine [of a turbo] but the pressure of the gases expanding while hot. That, and it's all in the sizing. ;)
@@pancudowny You're absolutely right! But, in the case of single cylinder engines, usually when they're turbocharged, you can see a lot of fluctuation in the boost level and delivery at lower rpms because the intake valve is closed when the exhaust valve is open, and vice versa, so there is always a moment of "pause" where the engine is either not producing boost momentarily, or not able to intake the charged air. This can be mitigated by use of an air capacitor, which is a chamber placed after the turbo with a capacity about 4.4 times larger than the displacement of the engine. It works by "storing" the compressed air from the turbo whenever the intake valve is closed, so the engine will always be supplied with consistent boost pressure. An air capacitor would be VITAL with that diesel engine, seeing as it tops out at only 3500rpms, but just putting a turbo on something is just fun no matter what haha
Everytime you rev that thing, you need that clip of Gretta thunberg saying "how dare you!!" Lol
I did NOT expect a Hercules reference to be snuck into a video like that. Love the build!
I love this build. Motors and engineering keeps getting better and better.
that Milwaukee m12 with the China 9-amp battery is hilarious
You threw in a Lorraine! Savage! I have a feeling we watched the same type of Comedy growing up.
Lead is a good choice for the weights. It’s easy to machine or melt. You could make a mold and pour some. Or fill some weights with holes.
You could run it on old engine oil. Call the kart wasted. Love to see that.
Good job.You really gave the Gokart some power.
These little engines are cute.
That cart was a cob-knobbled mess when you got it. But you and go power sports got it sorted out
@ 8:08 - If you would have placed that diagonal bar opposite of the first diagonal bar then you would make a triangle vs a trapezoid. A triangle stays firm while a trapezoid lays flat under load.
Love the new deal engine man I did not know it could be done can’t wait to see what you guys do next
There’s the old spirit 👍
Ow the diesel engine is pink.. so cute! 🤩
Send the injectors to powerdrivendiesel they open up the holes!
Deuce Diesel,
Dingo Diesel,
Double DDs!
Ez marha jó lett! Gratulálok.👍🏻
super cool, we need more diesel carts!
Oh, that's what those collars are for. Wheel locks? Interesting..
That'd be good for a generator and get it to run off some used cooking oil/ grease from a fast food restaurant. Talk about free energy!!!! Hey bud your exhaust smells like 🍟... 😂 Love the videos almost bought one! Mb200 diesel all the way... 🤔
I love seeing you have fun
You always do excellent work I also like your engineering
We need to see some more of this unit
Hell, throw a snorkel on it. No matter what, your going to have fun!
I have a yanmar 7.hp on my daughters go cart. It will do every it of 30. Its awesome!
Super cool video can't wait to see more on this 👍
ROLLING ON COAL !!!
Been watching videos on these for a few months. Planning a gokart with one aswell.
That's badass I have a 200cc diesel from China as well I have been working with lol
Get a 16hp Yanmar 3cyl drop it in a Gokart w a turbo, & haul ass!
I’m in the process of dropping a decent used Yanmar L70 in my JD212 almost done with it to get it functional/driving under its own power. Needs a throttle cable, & a longer belt.
This thing is sick
Machining tungsten... good luck with that!
Pretty sweet Red🤘
Lovin it!
just ordered one its so cool with a small diesel...i have no idea what im gonna do with it though...no gocart here hehe...
You’re a creative dude
Classic Red Beard. Turning the least into a BEAST. Lets go Red
Torque foe duh gravy bones 😅👍☮
I'm not a metallurgist but I think you will have a very hard time machining tungsten. Maybe you can drill the existing weights and add a heavy metal to the inside like Mallory that they use to balance crankshafts?
Tungsten is fairly machinable, tungsten carbide isn't!
Rollin' coal go-cart.
How did you get that torque converter to fit onto a 20mm output shaft
I would tune the cvt, you will get alot more torque and speed out of it
If you get it working reliably with the turbo, be sure to let the ultralight aviation folks know about it. Could be just about viable power to weight wise for an aircraft.
@@StansWorld check out kevin Armstrong in the UK he's got many reliable flight hours on his (chinese) Gaokin 800cc V twin. For £2000/$3000 you'll get a reliable 4 stroke with altitude compensating electronic injection with almost the same power to weight as a rotax 582 but burning almost half the fuel.
Need to buy these up before EPA gets involved and says no more imports.
Diesel- alot of Torque!
My father in law was like that's a small diesel powered motor. I said yeah it is. The lawn mower is diesel fuel so is our 4 wheeler that's mine and wife's. Kids 4 wheelers and dirt bike are gas powered. He couldn't believe how fast it went when u went riding.
Shake, rattle & roll Cole!!!!
Best mod for that engine is a starter generator unit (adds electric start and charging in one package) or add an electric start kit with some sort of charging system
You can't
@@coolcat2997 I call bs... there are parts out there for the electric start... Also as long as you operate the decompressor lever when cranking a starter generator will crank the engine over fast enough to start it
Handles like a dream but rides like a thumb tack :P
Examples of this engine can now be had on amazon for around $300
That thing rolls more coal than my duramax 😂
😂
Mini Gravy Bones!!!
I have done this same thing same motor and all, still yet to turbo it . But my gearing is too low and speed is lacking . But It will climb a tree like a boss !
You had me subscribed at 'diesel'
Need a gsxr engine on that bad boy
What tube notcher do you guys use? Would you buy it again? I'm looking for a good one to rebuild the front frame section of a rolled atv... need something worthwhile.
Very curious to see what power gains you get over on road diesel, to off road diesel, and then to kerosene. Would be very interesting!
Offeoad an on road diesel is the same thing
I love how you buy a go kart frame on Facebook market and its 7 different colors. Like 7 different people all were dumba$$es and not a one of them thought to to take it down to bare metal and properly prime and paint it. I had me a go kart was rough 7 different colors, ground it all down to bare metal painted it a nice navy blue with a silver race stripe looked decent. End up selling it saw it on Facebook market a week later crack frame from flipping it and some one dumped a can of bright orange paint on the front end or something, I'm just like some people just can't have anything nice. Just pissed me off seeing my hours of hard work go to waste, guy I sold it to had kids I was hoping he got it for them, but he was one of those always trying to trade up screw people over
same happened to a yerfdog I had thats just like the dingo's, but it was already rough and even though I road it for all it had, it was still in decent shape. Guy thought he could flip it for double the price by adding a crappy paint job, I don't think that worked out for him though. I serviced the torque converter totally before I sold it, probably will never be touched again lol
@@M.TTT. its a damn shame, some people just can't take care of there stuff. Just hurts seeing something you cared about destroyed
Needs a stack with flapper..
Bet it’s got gobs of torque,,, could be a good candidate for bio diesel
Very nice! Badass project!!
What about a diesel mudboat motor on a johnny!
Quick question, what do you put on your legs to make them glow like they do??
Awesome
Need to put heavier weights in the driver pulley to lower the stall rpms cause that’s most likely where all the torque is
I need this for my monster truck go kart build
You need to start building and selling karts. You get down red beard!!!
Now get one of those tiny turbos for it like the guys from MCM used on their scooter.
Lots of Torque
Lots of different steel
wonder if one of those small chineese superchargers works on this engine
Try the diesel dingo up the steep hill
👍👍👍👍
"You know if you got a diesel, you gotta roll coal papow af der tot der"
that little thing might not be fast, but i bet with the different weights itll climb and crawl pretty well
You know you're gonna have to tweak the injector and turbo that shit
Needs a turbo... like ALL diesels should have! ;)
Nice
How did you set up the throttle? No points in the video show it.
Jeepers Mr. you’re a really strong
Dang Greg them legs tho I thought you had a pair of white pants on I was going to tell you it's after labor day.
😎😎😎
Hi red beard 👍
I think that could use a turbo
maybe you have to tune the converter for low rpm engangement
Why does that engine look sun faded right out of the box?
Now through some propane on it for more power!! 🔥💪
Should give a price estimate on what it cost you on one of these projects
It probably could use heavier weights in the clutch.
This exactly. You can even see that the Torque Convertor secondary pulley isnt even changing, because there isnt enough pressure from the clutch, because the low RPM range. Heavier clutch weights would wake this thing right up, right now its just slip city.
Just use gold it s heavy and easy to machine 👍🤣
TURBO DIESEL!!!!!?!?!?!
Would have liked to see you pull the hill behind the shop
Would be nice to have some big mods done.
I wonder if it will last long with a turbo it's at 23:1 compression. I guess they are cheap if it blows.
No with a turbo 16-18:1 compression is the sweet spot for diesel engines... the added boost pressure can cause premature fuel burn as it speeds up the rate of burn... the only way around this premature fuel burn would be via retarding the injection timing a few degrees in proportion to the boost levels but you still would need to figure out a way to better cool the engine... even with the retarded fuel injection timing with the higher cylinder pressures the engine will still fail much earlier... The best way to build this engine is a forged rod and lower 16-18:1 compression piston as this will keep cylinder pressures within reason while still allowing higher boost pressures to be utilized
