NB NOTE: In my best efforts you will notice if you look carefully I broke 3 of the clips when I removed the original buttons. Be very careful to lift these buttons gently out of the clips, before removing them.

Its great to see more custom mods hardware support for RG35XX.
I also bought mine from the very same seller.
these custom shoulder buttons are really good in term of ergonomic and more accessible, proportional R2/L2.
but for specifically arcade fighting games (which only need access for L1/R1), the stock RG35xx buttons are surprisingly good.
they have easy and firm "click" even from the edges, compared to the shallow custom modded one.
IMPORTANT NOTE: After review I noticed I had damaged some of the clips as I took out the buttons. Be very careful with this, I was being quite cautious and still managed to damage it. My electrical tape is definitely helping to fix my mistake. The only thing I can think of to make this work better for you is to pry the button up towards you first, instead of levering it out the back the way I did it.
I had the better buttons in my RG35XX for about two months and played a lot of Playstation games using them.
On the one hand they feel better in regards to your index fingers being less crooked, but on the other hand there's one very huge downside:
The shoulder buttons being so mch higher means you have to hold the whole RG35XX in a different way, because our index fingers will kind of 'push' it downwards, as you cannot make them any longer. This will lead to the whole device sitting near one centimeter lower in your hands. And this prevents you from having the RG35xx 'sitting' on your little finger in a relaxed way, as we can see in your video at 9:00 for example. And not sitting on your finger will push the whole device downwards everytime you try pushing the shoulder buttons. So you cannot effetcively use the better shoulder buttons, because it will push aways the device instead of pushing the buttons, or you have to somehow crook your little fingers downwads into a very uncomfortable (painful after some minutes) position, if your index fingers aren't long enough to easily reach the 'better shoulder buttons' anymore.
Of course this may depend on how big your hands are, but for people with smaller hands, the 'better buttons' are not recommendable at all. It would be nice if there was a slightly less thickened variant in between.
So I now reverted back to the original buttons and I have to say, they are working MUCH better for me than the 'better buttons'. Too sad,y because the more ergonomic curve of the 'better buttons' could have been a nice enhancement instead of the somewhat too edgy original buttons.
This should be good. HATE hate HAAAAATE those back buttons. Ordered a set via the link.
Always cool to see more going on with the RG35XX - hoping to get my own soon enough!
Yes there’s even a new custom firmware in the works.
Clever design!!
Nice. Hopefully getting my 35xx in next week. Printed a set of these in anticipation. Excited to get them in. So far finding the mini+ a little cramped so hoping the 35xx is a little more comfortable.
I’m about to unbox the Mini Plus. I have a feeling they’re pretty much the same in terms of ergonomics.
@@adinwalls Oh nice man. Looking forward to the video. Yeah I'm thinking the same, but I'll know next week. Also deliberating how to make these companion devices. Think it's a bit pointless to keep them both running garlic and onion. So I may experiment with Batocera beta on the 35xx and use it for systems the mini cant run (psp, nds, n64 etc). That unlocked GPU performance is quite exciting.
You snapped the clips for your R1, R2, and L2 buttons. You're going to have issues with those buttons later.
Snapped? Really? I didn’t use any excessive force.
Yeah i saw that too. They are broken. It seems like the plastic clips are very cheap.
Is it a good idea to replace the 2100 Mah battery to a bigger one?
I bought the 2800 mah battery from aliexpress and the battery lasts quite a long time.
I think if this is your dedicated handheld console it’s a nice upgrade.
I damaged 1 clip even being very caution ans Using propre tools. Not sure i recommand this mod for this reason. They are too weak to handle pressure. Even button will not be so soft like original ones. 😢
Yes that is bad I did it too but using the electrical tape seems to have fixed any issues
