Rick and Morty | S6E3 Sneak Peek: Jerry's Thanksgiving Toast | adult swim - Krátké a kreslené filmy
I love how they casually insert the running joke of Rick getting pardoned as a turkey on Thanksgiving every year.
That episode was so great. One of my favorites
Traditions never should die
It's really funny. I would love getting pardoned every year 🤣🤣🤣
Also, running joke was literally running (into the glass) too lol
@@raservesthedinner7620 Good catch.
The part I love about this is that Jerry is wrong. When he lost his family in Chrononburg World he became the most self actualized Jerry.
He became the most confident, independent, strong version of himself once he had no one but it could only happened because he was protecting his family and didn't have Rick. So is more likely Rick's fault he is so useless as he brings the worst on the family against Jerry.
Wasn’t he treated like garbage by that familiar tho, like more than usual?
remember alternate dimansion different Jerry's evolve differently so this one could kill himself or end up like that Jerry that's how alternate dimensions work it's just like how this rick cares enough about his family to stay even tho his original reason was to hunt down there rick who doesn't care
@@_toulouse actually that jerry died after trying to kill rick when he learned he was likely after the main rick and morty he died trying to protect them
@@ruyman90 not really. He’s always dependent on others and that stunts his own self-sufficiency. A man needs to stand on his own 2 feet first before he can lean on others and they him

Love the job Chris Parnell does on Jerry's voice. Everytime Jerry starts speaking, I think he will either say something incredible selfish or will be completely humiliated
Parnell is one of my favorite voice actors in adult animation. Love him in Archer too
@TAVARIUS POWELL he learned martial arts so there's that
trouble is whe you watch Archer you hear Jerry when Cyril speaks 🙂
I heard his voice in family guy clips. idk who tho

Seems normal to me.
What?
I just realized, you know what would be hilarious, if Space Beth brought home a boyfriend/lover like Jerry's parents did that one time.
@@lightingdragon4143 Well she kinda did. She brought herself
I really love that Morty calls her "Space Mom", and that she regularly comes to visit. Somehow, she finds time in her schedule of liberating the galaxy to visit her family.
She’s living with the family for a bit now after episode 1 of season 6.
@@MrMelonsz And now she leaves the family to find Naruto, a.k.a. the Giant Incent Monster Baby.
Jerry really is NOT even trying to hide that he's trying to guilt trip his family anymore.
I think he’s just afraid Beth is going to leave him for her space self, which I would say is ridiculous if it was anyone, but Beth…🤔
Which is weird because didn't he say in the first episode of the season that he was glad they spent that time divorced after being in the dimension where they didn't, I assumed it would have gave him some perspective but I guess not.
yeah it was pretty cringe but I guess that's what Jerry is for. To give us those cringe moments.
@@Alec0124 And he started off so good too , he prepared the turkey better then last time , asserted dominance by telling rick to put his pants on , all he had to do was the toast just one simple toast about anything .
He has nothing to lose because his family would not care about him no matter what he said or did.
Did either Beth really choose Jerry?
One left her family to go into outer space and the other stayed for Morty, Summer and Rick but remained separated/divorced from Jerry until the uncertainty of her clone status drove her back to him.
This could be a subplot for the episode for all we know
Well, a part of she did it. Yes, with Normal Beth, Space Beth don't abandon his family technically, but Normal Beth didn't know that and anyways came back with Jerry
yea honestly this whole bit seems alil out of character for who they currently are
@@CrobatmanIamthenight For me, more than anything, Jerry's attitude, it seems that he is the character that the writers do not want to let grow and change, or find it difficult, but they have been delayed
A choice is a choice. And this Jerry has made some pretty good progress as a person.
“Cheers” to ending the Toast!
Everyone: “Cheers!”
I like how Rick looks genuinely concerned at Jerry's suicidal speech
I love how Rick was the turkey that gets pardoned every year🤣
You know that the pardoning security measures and counter-measures have continued to ratchet up, too :D
Lol turkey Rick 🦃
I love how defeated Jerry sounded telling Rick to get dressed. Makes me wonder how many times he had to tell him that.
I love the return of Jerry's Vulnerable Narcissism. Though it seems the writers were trying to make Apocalypse Jerry's death less heartbreaking it doesn't have that usual cynicism.
Some people can only live when the world is burning
I'm annoyed honestly, it's flanderization. Like I get that it is more comfortable as a writer to settle back into familiar patterns, but it doesn't mean anything for character growth.
Our jerry was making progress, so unless something big happens in this episode to justify that sort of behavior then the writers are just being lazy and regressive
The writers are setting us up for Space Beth and Jerry hooking up.
@@tychormthorp oh the writers are definitely setting us up.
@@carpeimodiem oohh maybe.
I love space Beth's reaction throughout that whole toast. I'm also glad Jerry accepted that they're both not his wives too!
But they are his wives
@@swedlepop7092 I mean, it was never confirmed whether they finalised the divorce before Space Beth left.
@@swedlepop7092 on top of that ^. Beth choosing to leave to be a space badass also means she choose to leave Jerry behind. Relationships work when it's mutual. She chose to leave and that's not good for a functioning relationship
Imagine if you were in a relationship and your partner left in the middle of the night and she cuts all contacts with you. She leaves a note behind that says shes not kidnapped and shes living away from you for a while. You haven't seen her in more than 9 months. Are you going to wait for her to come back and stay loyal? Or are you going to assume your single because shes not here to talk to you about it. Healthy relationships have to have good communication and understanding. If beth wants to leave for space that's fine. But did she even talk to Jerry about it? So he understood where there relationship is going if she left?
But one of them is, the one who came back. Theh have been working as a couple really well lately. Space beth was angry at first that they came back together
Despite having a overarching timeline, there’s been two Thanksgivings and two Christmases yet Morty is still 14.
Naw he's actually like 18ish. Just physically 14.
Three Christmases at least- Anatomy Park, the one with the snakes, and the season 6 finale.
My theory is that the infinite rick curve or whatever has a constant time loop. Resetting on Morty’s 14th birthday.
When Jerry said "the Beth that chose me" I thought it was gonna turn into something with Space Beth getting upset but this took a much darker turn.
I like it.
Space Beth knows he's not wrong on that point.
I just realized, you know what would be hilarious, if Space Beth brought home a boyfriend/lover like Jerry's parents did that one time.
This Season’s gonna feel weird without inter dimensional adventures but at least we still have stuff at the Smith home and outer space.

Man, I fell sorry for they killing the cronenberg Jerry, he should totally marry space beth.
I think that's the point, where when is on his own, he somewhat grows, but being with Beth, Rick, and the Kids negates the growth entirely. Hell, I don't think Jerry spent any time even looking for work after Beth took him back, sort of giving him a free pass not to even try anymore.

the jerry without beth is dead. is that better?
@@lewis0705 he was doing fine for years, it was ironically Rick who was the one to do him in.
Actually no, Cronenberg Jerry is independent but depressive man. However, Beth could be better with him and she herself has realized in the last seasons.
He would be better in a hellish post-apocalyptic world. Losing Beth was far from being the one factor that pushed his development lmao, and even then he was very miserable, despite being a badass. We've already seen how Jerry would end up if Beth left him under normal circumstances and it's even more pathetic than usual.
I think the cronenberg Jerry got that way mostly because society collapsed. It seems he does a lot better without it and more tangible problems to worry about, like an apocalypse or scavenging food for your family.
I just realised that The President that Rick and Morty fought with to save the world from giant spem and angry Turkeys got Cutified when they left... RIP that particular Universes President.

This Jerry. Cronenberg Jerry learned to accept his fight cuz of his situation.
Cronenberg Jerry had some experience in the apocalypse with beth and summer so after they died He at least knew what he was doing
@@yourfathersinferioritycomplex Except that he also survived during the citadel by crawling home. Jerry is always better off surviving alone, it's only until Rick comes along that everything goes to hell
@@BrettMattHarris i guess but it seems that he survived by pure luck, no way him crawling saved him without a little luck at play.
Jerry in the apocalypse survived by knowing how to attack cronenberg creatures and how to heal his wounds.
He most likely learned how to heal himself thanks to Beth
Not sure what he would've learned from Summer though.
This Jerry’s relationship is way better than croneburg Jerry’s one and his situation is way different too so they’re not really comparable.

The episode is Mindblowers material, Poor Summer and Morty went into despair so fast.

1:01 love space Beth's cute snickering 🫠
😫 RIP Jerry is getting cheated on by Beth with Beth
1:12 Beth's facial expression is masking her guilt from cheating. Clone Beth is indifferent but defensively observant.
1:22 When Jerry says "if you were to leave me" Space Beth looks at Rick seemingly knowing that she's the original Beth who left...
1:23 When Jerry says "be unfaithful", Space Beth returns her cautiously observational gaze to Jerry
1:24 When Jerry says he would kill himself, Beth's guilt is overshadowed by concern for Jerry's well being.
1:27 Beth becomes visibly ashamed, so she uses Morty's reaction as an excuse to avert her eyes from Jerry. Rick looks at Beth inquisitively. Either Rick doesn't comprehend that there's an affair between Beths, or he's consciously acting oblivious for the family's sake. Knowing Rick, it's more likely the first one.
1:32 Space Beth looks at Rick to check if he's become aware of the situation. When Rick looks back she darts her eyes away.

I know they push the idea that each new season is gonna feel like the first 2 did, but so far, season 6 has done the best job of actually doing that IMO.
We dont need a big climatic story all the time we just want events to feel like they naturally come one after another

I love how he literally walks into the room naked and no one even flinched.
How come Jerry never progressed as a character? With everything he’s been through, you’d think he’d change a little bit like how Summer and Morty have changed a lot by going on Ricks adventures.
I feel like it is part of the point of him. The biggest change was badass Jerry from the first episode and the requirements for him becoming badass was the world literally ending and everyone he loves dying.
I'm thinking it's kinda like these two phrases: "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" and "you can't fix stupid". I would take it as Jerry will only have so much development. And if he does it's going to cost him everything just like the cronenberg dimension Jerry.
To be fair, this isn't same Jerry
Also it's fiction ffs, saying a character has progressed is meaningless since everything they co is written by thr writers
He has. A ton actually. In the first few seasons he was the family wiping boy and he was constantly trying to assert his Patriarch status despite the lack of respect his family had for him. Jerry in the new seasons doesn't feel the need to force Rick and his sci Fi antics out of the house any more, he doesn't cling on to the idea of normalcy like he used, he doesn't feel the need to assert his role as the "head of the family", he also isn't the one joke of the family anymore. The anger and bitterness the characters all felt towards each other has subsided a lot and has largely been replaced with genuine love. Something that did not exist at all in the first few seasons.

This is the second Thanksgiving episode we’ve had, the show is six years old, Morty Smith is still 14.
It's annoying how this show is kinda serialized and acknowledges character growth yet these characters don't age, which is why the kids don't really grow out of their teenage shenangians. Isn't Morty supposed to be like 18 now? I don't expect him to make significant changes but goddamn he should at least be a bit more emotionally mature now.

I think this episode might actually be a very important episode concerning Jerry’s Mental State… and will be a deeper look into the relationship of Jerry’s standing with Rick and Beth…
While also being a deep look at how Beth’s relationship works with Rick, her Clone and most importantly Jerry…
I get a feeling this might actually be a downer episode concerning Jerry’ (And of course Rick) that will give Jerry more agency… as the episode description says: “Nobody will love you if you don’t love yourself broh”
