Taken from Yellowstone (2009)
Yellowstone National Park is one of the world's last and most spectacular wildernesses. It is also home to some of the richest wildlife beyond the plains of Africa. This landmark series follows the intertwining stories of Yellowstone's iconic inhabitants: the grey wolf, the grizzly bear and the herds of antelope and buffalo. In a land of beauty and peril, the dramatic lives and fortunes of these animals are inexorably bound together.
Welcome to BBC EARTH! The world is an amazing place full of stories, beauty and natural wonder. Here you'll find 50 years worth of entertaining and thought-provoking natural history content. Dramatic, rare, and exclusive, nature doesn't get more exciting than this.

It's very relaxing to see animals đŠ« living peacefully, innocently, and at the same time surviving wisely.
Nothing peaceful about this. From 2001 to 2023, there was a total of 488 Mha of tree cover loss globally, equivalent to a 12% decrease in tree cover since 2000 and 207 Gt of COâ emissions. In my opinion these beavers are as much to blame as anyone else. Guilt by association.

And the funny thing is, they donât do all this work for cash, they just coincidentally make a whole community just because it was to suite their needs.
They are building dam and not being selfishâ€
Beavers have officially become my favorite animal
You do realise humans are animals right?!
Thereâs no way youâre implying you favour beavers over humans
I far prefer beavers to humans

Beavers, so smart and hardworking! đ
Thatâs right!
No, they are not!
You are absolutely wrong, "JeeJoo." Beavers are rodents; rodents are highly intelligent. Gnaw on this for awhile:
"âBoth in observational and experimental studies it has been shown that rodents are endowed with extraordinary intelligence (understood as the ability to adapt to the environment)." @@TheJeeJoo
I love beavers but many people hate them. They trap and hunt them just to get rid of them.
Well they kinda ruin rivers. Had to evict 5 beavers from my dads land, now they got their own river đ€·
They are so disciplined and dedicated it makes me emotional.
Same here. đ€đ€đ€
yes, and it is also called instinct :)
#2FreshBuns agrees, beavers are the best. So industrious!
@@2FreshBuns if beavers did our construction work, it wouldnât take as long.
Imagine after all this hustle a crocodile comes and eats the same person who single handedly constructed the same dam đŠ«
They not only know know how to build damns, but also how to preserve food for winter! So intelligent!
Exactly!
Fuck the damns. They build a lake !!
These Beavers should be on the payroll system for a job well done ! Thank you BBC Earth
What about all the ppl filmed tearing down these dams.
One can understand how true the expression "busy as a beaver" is. Beavers are amazing and fascinating and a vital part of the ecosystem.
Theyâre little engineers! And so cute

Natureâs engineers.
TRUE that.

The footage BBC Earth gets is second to none!
Their anti-white racist propaganda is also second to none.
Now I understood what those flat paddle like tails are used for!!! Who knew those are for slapping water to scare Moose... đ€Łđ€Ł
They also use it to scare unsuspecting bass fishermen.
They also use them to warn the other beavers when somebody walks up on their pond. They slap them against the water then dive into the pond.
Beaver is like "I take down trees, one moose is a short task"
Beaver be like "I spent all summer building this dam and you just gonna waltz up and eat my dinner?" đ đ đ
đđđđ
By the way he splashes that water you know he used another strong word in front of dam.

This is better than the Yellowstone show
I have always enjoyed watching wildlife on the BBC for years now. Thank you for sharing this story with us. Beavers are experts dam builders.â€â€â€

These videos are too short. I can watch this all day.
They're so important to the ecosystem â€
How?
â@@domnicdsouza9774 they improving the ecosystem
They create wet lands, which slow down forest fires, creating habitats for countless animals and species
â@@domnicdsouza9774they prevent soil erosion, drough and forest fire. More importantly they preserve water resources.
â@@domnicdsouza9774. Beavers are what is called a "Keystone Species". That means by their very existence they positively impact the environment and create habitats for hundreds of different kinds of birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects, trees, vegetation, fungi, and flora. On top of that, they re-route water courses to fill underground aquifers, store water to alleviate drought and create natural fire-breaks to protect forests from wildfires. They are essential, and it is to mankind's lasting shame that they were almost hunted and hounded to extinction. Thankfully mankind has woken up and realised that many of the ecological ills caused by our wasteful selfish ways can be repaired by these incredible beautiful intelligent creatures. Harming them, killing them, or ill-treating them should be illegal the world over and punishable by a lengthy prison sentence. We need the beaver to help us repair the damage we have caused. Beavers have been around managing landscapes and ecosystems for around 10 million years. What they do is bred into their DNA and unlike the human species, they are not affected by greed, laziness, war, and sheer stupidity.
The very first construction workers.
very pleasant to watch this.
How cool are these
Little critters
They do it all with
Just their teeth
Beavers are the hardest dam workers in the animal kingdom.
Imagine a Beaver bites your finger.
Oh my, I never thought of that.
would definitely leave a mark.. I'm not so aquatic so I think my fingers would be unscathed, tho I do have scars from holiday bread roll cutting and a mishap with a garden tool. their tail slaps make good warning systems! all of creation praises God for His providence. đïžđ€
Imagine bothering the beaver first đ
I hope you didnât need that finger.

I was thrilled to read about beavers many years when I was a teenager. I am still full of Wonder for this animals. The building skills and instinct of beavers fills me with awe inspiring satisfaction of watching Egyptian Pyramids and I think beavers are the Egyptian of the Animal World.â€
The same here.Their engineering skill and instincts really makes me feel like I am watching the Great Chola Dynasty King of India building the Grand Anicut Dam in the Tamil Nadu province of India.Although built more than a 1000 years back it is still in operation and irrigates many districts around it.The Cholas of the Animal Kingdom
That is hilarious when the beaver slaps at the moose get the heck out of here, "I'm working, pal". "Don't invade my workstation".
I think Beavers are one of the most interesting creatures out there! I mean, is not everyday you see a small animal cutting down trees and building dams.
âŠand creating a lake that size and storing food.
Many people should be inspire by this beaver: work hard, and think of his future!
I find beavers awesome. Such powerful influence from such a little being! Wonder if theyâre related to the southamerican capybara. The share some features and have the same vibe of self-assured calmness imo.
âŠ..but the Capybara is a Guinea pigâŠ..the same group of animals
@@beatricecallan A beaver is a guinea pig - or you mean theyâre not related? Anyway, I looked it up and beavers are rather unique: They are the only extant members of the family Castoridae. They originated in North America in the late Eocene and colonized Eurasia via the Bering Land Bridge in the early Oligocene. Genetically theyâre closest related to the kangaroo rat, the kangaroo mouse and the gopher.

Thanks for sharing! Awesome to see how the actions of the beaver influencee the broader ecosystem too.
Even when you say out loud, I think it's impossible to truly comprehend, that beavers chew through trees!
I wonder who could take down a tree quicker, a man with a handsaw or a beaver with his teeth lol
I am amazed at those beavers.
Maybe I'm crazy, but beaver engineering skills impress me more than flight.
Animals fly to seek out better environments, whereas the beaver engineers a better environment.
Such amazing creatures. There's no doubt about it.

Best dam engineers on the planet
Beavers have poor eyesight and sharp teeth and are extremely meticulous and independent and are super swimmers and can stay under water for up to 15 minutes. They are natural mechanical engineers of aquatic world and saves us from floods.
What I did not know was that they are extremely territorial. Perhaps that is why they are bad pets.
But again, they are a blessing for our eco system.
this is why i love beavers. they just be chill like that.
There used to be beavers out behind my shop, there is still old metal roofing wrapped around the last couple trees standing. I love them they truly control the water.

- Creates a lake bigger than a swimming pool.
- Using mud as cement

Beavers: Nature's Tiny Titans of Teamwork! (Prepare to Be Amazed by BBC Earth)
BBC Earth, you've outdone yourselves again! This heartwarming documentary isn't just about beavers building a dam - it's a testament to the incredible power of cooperation and perseverance.
Watching these industrious creatures work together is truly inspiring. Their dedication, discipline, and teamwork put human construction crews to shame! The way they meticulously transport logs, collaborate to create a watertight seal, and even build underwater canals showcases their remarkable problem-solving abilities.
One commenter mentioned feeling emotional - I completely understand! There's something truly awe-inspiring about witnessing animals living in such peaceful harmony with their environment. Their innocent determination to survive the harsh winter is a beautiful reminder of the resilience of nature.
This documentary is the perfect antidote to a stressful day. It's a celebration of cooperation, resourcefulness, and the quiet wisdom of the animal kingdom. A huge thank you to BBC Earth for showcasing these tiny titans and reminding us of the magic that surrounds us. Now, excuse me while I go find some adorable beaver memes to share...
