- How to create a multiple lighting set up with just one speedlight / flash gun.
In this video I take you step by step through the process of lighting a creative still life photographic study with just one speedlight yet achieve a multi light look.
I will demonstrate how to combine separate images in photoshop to build up a multiple lighting setup.
Everything is covered from the studio lighting using a single speedlight / flash gun, through the tethered capture in Capture one software, to the final image in Adobe Photoshop.
I'll use a Canon DSLR, tethered into Capture one software to show you how to capture your subject from basic image to completed photograph.
Ideas for art photography.

Canon 24-70mm f2.8 Lens.

Hi loving the information shared on your channel. Thank you so much, I am learning so much. I’m wondering are you able to show how you would photograph a picture that is already framed in glass. I do diamond dot pictures and have a few that are already framed with clear glass on top. There is lots of sparkle and colour behind the glass. Do you have Any wonderful insights for this type of photography? Regards

Very nice, as always. those videos are a treat! One trick you did not explain ... From 16:12 to 16:24, while you are cropping from 3/2 to 16/9, the glass is becoming much brighter :) . Am I wrong ?

You instruction and practical showing is First Class in every one of your video's I have watched . I so like the way you try to get as much done in the camera and as little as necessary in photo shop........Now what may seem a very silly question why do you in this case not use multi exposures (like when on 35mm film you did not wind on the film)? is there a reason ?
In effect that's exactly what I'm doing, Just with different layers in photoshop. You get more control that way.
Whether using thousands of pounds of Profoto gear or a simple flashgun and sweet wrappers makes no difference to the high quality of images you produce. Very important lesson for all photographers that the gear is secondary to the talent and vision of the photographer!
