Nice video Justin! Another big plus for Resolve is you’ll never need to learn a “more professional’ editor when your videos get more sophisticated. Yet the very basics to get your videos from raw footage to finished product are not hard to learn. HUGE bonus is the large amount of CZcams content out there to answer any “how to” question.

I used Lightworks before, but there's just one problem I have with the free version: it exports videos only up to 720p, and I'd really like to have the option for 1080p, too. Other than that, I thought it's a great tool.
I imagine DaVinci Resolve supports 1080p, so I might try that. Thanks for the review!

There's a problem with the button link for the Windows version. The says that the destination is no longer valid, then another webpage opens and offers a redirected URL. The redirected URL displays a webpage that says VN Video Editor for Windows is not available but you can run the Android version of VN Video Editor if you also install an Android emulator on your Windows PC. I decided not to pursue that path.
Upon further web searching, I found a link to a Windows version, but the website is kind of sketchy. I couldn't tell the website it was legitimate as it did not really identify anything about the company, costs (free or otherwise), and so on. Somewhere I saw a reference to subscription, but there was no mention of costs.
Do you have an updated link to download the Windows version?

Stop talking about free software if it is not really free. Those apps are just limited versions of a commercial software... that's a big difference.

Thanks for the video! Just a note on VN Video Editor: it's from Filmora, which is owned by Wondershare, which is a Chinese company. So for those people concerned about Capcut/TikTok/Bytedance and what they do with all of the data they scrape, then most likely the same would be true for VN/Filmora/Wondershare.

They have no mutual connection you can run them both if you like. Capcut for quick fast edits and dvr for when you need advanced editing.

Nice app,but sometimes it hurts bcz it needs network !an other thing that i hate,is that we miss some qualities after uploading videos edited with capcut !for example 240p,480p ...!are missing everytime when i posted a video on youtube !

Can you do multi screen sync via Jared Halley or other multi instrumental performers shooting one instrment at a time ?
Might be nice to mention that capcut requires you to login to use it, and hoovers up user data worse than Google or Facebook do. As bad as Tiktok for this, and there's no way to use it without logging in. That's a deal killer for anyone concerned with internet privacy, not just people who 'don't like TikTok'.

With all due respect to the creator of this video, I agree, this is not just a little thing and should have been explained if recommending. I wasted a lot of time doing multiple installs and uninstalls. You need to at least edit your video and add a caption. Agreed it is a deal killer for sound reasons.

After uploading a video I’m often prompted to link it to social media but when I try I get an error message

Recently updated davinci resolve to 18.5 beta, and now when i try to play back footage while editing the video is lagging and audio is staticy, despite the unedited footage sounding and playing fine in windows media player. 😢

Thanks Justin, always great information. Bugger though, as I just purchased Wondershare Filmora 12, as a suggestion of a friend, as an easy beginners software. I missed that it might have had a free version ah dah But also noticed I am paying $34 a month for Effects & Plug-ins as well as the $130 purchase. Is that normal practice for these types of video editing software packages? I also checked out the DaVinci Resolve, but they wanted $10 a month to start a project? Love your thoughts on this.
It’s not normal, but some do have extra subscription options. Filmora is still a great editing tool, if it’s working for you and does what you need then not a bad choice to stick with it

Capcut works flawlessly with gopro 5.3k files, davinci runs very very poorly even after tuning the settings. Capcut doesn't have any audio tools though...
But you can take a closer look at Movavi Video Editor.
The VN editor does not have transcription or captions feature in the free version or at least I couldn’t find it. It has a track for subtitles but when tapped, it gives 3 options none of which do transcription. Strange!

i have a windows tablet and i did get shotcut but although it works on my tablet it won't allow me to upload these videos to youtube, claiming something with the file is wrong?? i'm really not sure what to get at this point as i used to use movie maker, just for simple things like putting clips together and splicing them sometimes, nothing else really. do you have ANY suggestions? i can't seem to figure it out, the reason i don't have movie maker anymore is because it "updated" so now it is no longer a part of my tablet...

Da Vinci resolve is way too complex and hard to use, unless you're a semi pro that wants to spend hours on the learning curve. Furthermmore, there is a huge issue with Da vinci resolve that really few reviewers mention : it does not support Sony's camera video files format (.mts and .mt2s) ! Other free or quasi free editors support this format (such as Adobe premiere elements)

Thanks for the video! I've since been working on some stuff with capcut. Im finding every 1080p 60fps clip I upload to the program, the video quality drastically reduces. We're talking from 60fps, down to about 10fps. I don't know how to work around this unfortunately and any help would be appreciated.
Nevermind! I figured it out. For anybody else wondering---- For instance, I downloaded a twitch clip, uploaded it into capcut, dragged it into the timeline as normal. If you click above the clip in the timeline (or anywhere in the timeline that isnt the clip) you get the details page that pops up on the right. It shows "Name, saved location, ratio," etc.. on the bottom right of that window youll see MODIFY. Click that, and simply change the frame rate from 30fps to 60fps. I believe this applies it to the entire project--- and to anything you drag into the timeline later. This is a FREE feature.
Movavi Video Editor will not eat up the quality of your videos.

How can you create my own link video for this capcut?
The free version DaVinci limits you with regard to video formats, for me thats the main issue, I have to buy it to use my Sony camera files. Or take the extra step of a conversion, which is annoying and time consuming.

@@xmateinc Which version do you use? There are a lot of complaints about update 18.6, there's a 18.6.2 now. Running AMD Ryzen 9 5950, 80GB ram, 8 GB video, DaVinci Resolve STUDIO runs smoothly here [version 18.5.1, gonna update to 18.6.2 now].
@@chriss2595 was running 18.6 switched to Sony Vegas trial and for a noob like me, Vegas is much easier to use, and I was editing with a 3k resolution preview with no stuttering. I’d be more willing to pay for davinci is they where more honest about the power of their free version. You need to paid version to get gpu acceleration. I’m gonna end up paying for Vegas, the trimming feature in Vegas is very easy to use. Even for a beginner like me.

after some use davinci resolve ist not for free - only in the beginning
i like and i use Capcut, but as an amatuer i notice a minor issue.
You cannot strech an image when you place it at a video, for example as we can see at 1:23 of your video with the SUBSCRIBE image.
The dimensions of an image change together, and they don't give you the freedom to change just the height or just the width.
What some don’t get… is how quickly these guys will be wrapped around your neck
