i have a theory that nmixx's songs get better when you memorize them. they're so complicated at first listen but when you know how the song's gonna go you enjoy it.
i saw a youtuber saying that people love structure, so if you do a song that breaks the structure usually used in music people will not like it at first or will hate it. thats what happened to nmixx, there was no structure so you cant say whats coming next, thats why so many people hated their music, because it doesnt follow a pattern. but after knowing their pattern of music you can enjoy it without break any expectative
@@maiteenrique2139 nah NMIXX's experimental songs just do not sound good. They tried to copy Aespa's sound bc it's a new trend for SM but hires better producers who know how to execute this trend. Just my opinion

@@LovelyLittleLillies Yes! I don't even like Aespa that much but they do these switches/change in structure better than NMIXX. Comparing Next Level vs O.O., NL actually has a catchy chorus and is a full minute longer so you have more time with each section so the switch up is less jarring. I've given O.O a chance, and personally its bad every time, but not just because of the loose structure, 2/3 of the song is unenjoyable to me on its own.
@@maliser8 Aespa music is controlled chaos NMIXX sounds like disorganized chaos. The problem is that Aespa's melodies and instrumental in each every song that they create with this genre is good and high in quality. There's lots of meticulous thinking. It might've been the same amount of effort for NMIXX but it sound like the girls are shouting and just lots of noise in o.o. it's truly an unappealing song. Not to mention the lyrics - wow the lyrics don't even males sense and it's all just gibberish over a song. When did that ever work? I feel like JYP just trolled all the young fans for making fun of him, his music and dancing.

Hip became it's own thing and really popular in the art community as well. 🤯 It was called the hip meme but a meme in the art community is different from a normal meme, and is basically a short animation. That was how i first learned about mamamoo and kpop and I thought it was incredible how it crossed the music space to a whole nother space of media.
Listen, Blue Hour will forever be one of my top fave songs from TXT, but when they started doing stuff like 0X1=LOVESONG with the pop or punk rock sound or however you wanna call it, it just fits them so well in my opinion and I really hope they do more like that and LO$ER=LOVER in the future
Agreed. As much as I appreciate TXT for always trying new concepts, I think they really found something special with love song and should continue leaning into that sound.

i'd say cry for me is a good addition, the song became so popular that it escaped from the unreleased songs dungeon, since fancy they've been maturing their concept more but other than their jp singles like perfect world, I think cry for me is the darkest they've gone for a non bside

When Maniac came out, I also listened to some Blackpink and had discovered Stray Kids just the week before. I was listening to Thunderous, Back Door and God's Menu thinking "they're kinda cool", then they dropped Maniac and the whole Oddinary album, and I was sold.
