    Hey Whts up! I’m about to start conversion and was reading these posts for good info and seen buddy blew his battery up after the 42v conversion, so I had a few questions hopefully you can answer…
    1. I need to get a charger for mine (it looks exactly the same as yours) and it charges right at the bottom of the steering pole. Could you direct me which charger to get?
    2.does this 42 V conversion blow batteries very often?
    3. If for some chance, unfortunately, it does blow the battery How much is a replacement one?
    4. Is the mod really worth it? Can you tell me what it actually enhances?
    5. Last but not least I saw someone ask about putting a Kill-switch in the Main is it worth it? If so, could you possibly tell me where to insert it?
    Thank you for all your help and answering questions and helping everybody get their 🦅 up and running, I’m down at the Jersey shore and they don’t have 🦅 around here and I don’t feel like driving back up to Newark to grab another.
    Thank you for your time and i’m sorry for the book! and helping everybody with your 🦅 conversion vids ✌🏻

      1.amzn.to/41KPfFp 👈 charger u need
      2. Lol not at all, don’t know what caused their battery to blow up. They obviously did something wrong! I’ve never had a battery pack blow up personally, every scooter I’ve sold to a customer never stated they I had an issue with a battery catching fire/exploding. So no that’s not often.
      3.the battery packs are pretty expensive themselves, $300/$530 . But you might possibly find a replacement on eBay. If not I would recommend you joining my discord, once inside my discord tap into the general forum and simply state that you’re looking for a replacement battery, somebody there will reply back , it’s basically a community forum that I created, anything that has to do with scooters is in this forum, pictures/videos etc. i’m sure you can find a very good deal on a battery there ASAP
      4. Are you talking about the Shunt mod? I don’t do that anymore, instead go with a higher amp controller.
      5.amzn.to/44muamH 👈 this controller should do just right, suitable for both bird 2&3 . If you choose this kit well then there would be no purpose in adding a switch, so scratch off the switch . On this display kit Your able to power your scooter on and off up top. So there is no needing a switch.

    Are the hall wires being connected like absolutely nececary?

    • @pjscootermods
      @pjscootermods  Před rokem

      they are meant to avoid "jolty" starts. That is it. Most bikes will function just fine without them. I tried that in the past and the wheel still spins but I remember it being loud when cranking the throttle.So for a quick fix I say would say yes.these basically the hall sensor that tells the controller how fast and in what direction the motor is spinning, and allow it to accurately set the timing

      You should buy a motor that is suitable for the power you are trying to supply it. But either way it’ll still work you would just be pushing it past its limits so the motor to the bird scooter is going to get hot faster. If it gets too hot the Hall effect sensor inside the motor will go out.

      If everything is connected and looks right to you. the video is correct.. if nothing is giving a response after connecting your intelligent wires then yes your controller is at fault

Doing everything from top to bottom in order makes sense, reusing those clip connectors is really smart .. you can tell from your previous videos you've gotten this conversion down to a science . I just got my converted model three working a few weeks ago most of the conversion I did was based on your video with the twist throttle. I didn't order a Twist throttle though I've just got a little button that I screwed onto the original throttle. I didn't have the money for extra parts so it's only got full speed and off LOL. • @pjscootermods
      @pjscootermods  Před rokem +2

      The resistor is so that it can manage the resistance,too heavy current will blow out your headlight..
      If you’re adding a kill switch to the main power supply then no you don’t need to add a switch for your headlight. Everything will turn on and off together with the main power switch you plan on adding..
      Unless you choose to add a switch for your headlight ! That would allow you to control it independently..
      K2 to ground leaves you in third gear.
      You bypass 1st and 2nd gear
      If you don’t do the bypass well then you just stay in regular mode

      You might be working with a faulty controller ! The back motor should spin automatically after connecting the intelligent wires.my 72 v Bird scooter had an issue with the Hall effect sensor inside the motor. I replaced the module, and the motor started working again! Only issue is I have the same problems you have now. I would connect my intelligent wires, and my motor would only vibrate. what I did was swapped out the 3 motor phase wires. Normally it’s color with color. But what I did to fix it was swapped my green to blue and yellow to green. And that’s what fix my issue . But that’s not always the case . Even if you had a bad throttle once you connect the intelligent wires, your back motor will spin regardless. Try swapping the 3 motor phase wires lmk what happens !
