I still don’t understand how Candice was brought back as a HERO for season 20 after her mutiny act.
Especially because in Heroes vs Villains, she betrayed the heroes and voted with Parvatis alliance after J.Ts infamous blindside
I think the logic was that Candices mutiny was a public declaration of who her real friends are. She made it clear that rather than suck up to the Aitus she wanted to be with her old friends on Raro
I know this comment is a year old, but if you still don't know originally Candice was going to be on the Villains tribe, and Parvati was going to be on the Heroes tribe. But, some players most notably Rob said it was unfair because Parvati would've been with Amanda, Cirie, and James who she worked with in Micronesia. So they switched tribes last minute.
Billy's crush on Candice will always be one of my favorite moments from the show. Jeff's reaction to it was priceless. 😂😂❤
When it comes to the JP blindside, that was Rebecca and Jenny's idea. Parvati was initially the swing vote, but the girls got Brad on their side to get rid of JP
Cao Boi was actually voted out because he was truly smarter than he let on, and actually invented the split vote
The mutiny will always go down in history as iconic.
Despite the controversial race twist, this was a solid season, introduced us to Parvati, Jonathan, Yul, and Ozzy. The Aitu 4 was awesome to watch, and Yul using the idol as leverage.
The thing about Parvati is she doesn't control the game with an iron fist like Boston Rob or even Amanda who Russell calls the female Boston Rob. Parvati will make suggestions and randomly say things that throw a certain person under the bus and eventually it spreads like wild-fire. She was talking about voting off JP like 3 votes before he got voted off. She sort of suggested it to Nate who was his greatest ally until he decided Parvati was his greatest ally. Parvati worked with the guys more in Cook Islands than in Micronesia and Nate knew that was coming he wasn't blindsided at all he was just surprised that Stephanie basically quit and was let off the hook.
So many good moments this season! Cao Boi coming up with the first idea of flushing an idol with a vote split, Aitu Four beating Raro, Yul flipping Jonathan back to his side with his idol, one of my favorite seasons.
I love the commentary
"The producers must have had a heart attack after the mutiny since their goals of having a BIPOC winner went out the window"
"Will Jonathan vote with Raro? Possibly ending Survivor in the process?"
Yul is the perfect man. Hot bod, hot brain. Empathetic & compassionate too. What's not to love about Yul?
After all these years Cook Islands are still my favorite Survivor season. Mutiny made this season legendary!
Parvati is great at flirting but I think people sort of downplay her strategic game when they talk about how great of a flirt she is. There are other woman in Survivor that will flirt with you and write your name down. The girl who got voted 4th in Ghost Islands comes to mind because I would be like that Daniel guy, I'd have a harder time resisting her than Parvati. The thing that I think is great about Parvati is she is always thinking like 5 steps ahead and people don't realize it because they think she is dumb.
Name one example where she thought 5 steps ahead
@@truthhearer6323 Her teaming up with Natalie and Alexis during the swap while Amanda and Cirie were still heavily on the side of the Favorites. Also, the fake woman's alliance in Heros vs Villains that JT fell for.
@@truthhearer6323 In the merge confessionals during Heros vs Villains she says in her Valley Girl accent, "i'M OfFeNdEd
By HoW tHeSe HeRoEs aRe TrEaTiNg Me" then in her normal voice says, "They don't know it yet, but they are about to be picked off one by one."
Despite the questionable tribe split in episode 1 this is one of my favorite seasons in Survivor history.
The Aitu 4 is my favorite alliance in Survivor history
This one is definitely one of my favorite seasons the fact that we have Ozzie's intro and the Brain the master the true insane survivor player yul kwon
Wuauuuu men, thank you very much, now I have homework which is to watch all your videos today thank you
The race twist was considered distasteful. Honestly why? Race is engrained in our psyche in the west. You can’t even fill out a form without marking whether you are white, black, Asian, or Latino. Survivor’s only error with this twist was that they didn’t explore it. They used it as a hook for the premiere episode then it was immediately abandoned. We never got to know the psychology of it from the contestants. It could’ve been fascinating, unique, and revelatory. Instead, all of the human aspects of the show were snuffed out by hyperfocus on gameplay and strategy. Today, modern American culture has only become infinitely more obsessed with race. Ironically, the race tribe twist would actually be more relevant today and would probably be a hit.
I disagree, as it presents the ability for racist people to use the show as “evidence” of racial superiority. Will it happen for sure? No. But I don’t think they would be happy if some white supremacist saw a season where tribes are based on race & say “Survivor 64 is prime example of why white people are the best race ever.” It just wouldn’t look good.
Amber Mariano and Parvati are similar that they started as relatively average 6th-placers, but were invited back to a subsequent season that boosted them to Survivor stardom.
And both were a replacement for someone else since producers wanted Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Candice Wood instead.
The best season
I absolutely love this season
The season started rough but produced some icons such as Ozzy, Parvati, and Jonathan Penner
Yul is so hot
12:00 poor Billy
4:41 It’s been always twenty years and I still think of this. They way they voted her out because she said she wanted some mashed potatoes. Wtf
Such a great season. I was rooting for Yul and Becky from the beginning, and even more so after the mutiny
based producers
