- Rubba and I head to the oyster spot and dug deep for some oysters which after a taste test or three some were added to some pies and cooked in the smokey joe Weber down the harbour.

My son in law owns a bakery/cafe, back in the day when he was starting out I suggested the oyster pie we would cook them in small batches from fresh so steak pie 3 fat pacifics on top then raw pastry over top baked then sold immediately, it got so we had queues waiting for the next batch I am still trying to convince him to do the Paddies day special steak and oyster pie and a Guinness in his cafe now that would be a lunch mmmmmmmm.
I was gutted I bought the wrong frozen pie for this test, it needed the peppery tasting beef to bring out the oyster flavour. Used to enjoy tap Guinness back in the day, good memories😆

Is the season of fishing and holes, can't dig them up the coast
you should buy a designated bunnings or mitre 10 plastic bucket for oysters and drill heap of holes in it and tie a rope to the handle and drag it in the water it will clean and filter the oysters better for you
Thats what we used to do in the Kaipara collect the oysters walk out into the channel and shake the bucket. It really works cleans them up and breaks off the sharper frills
Great idea, get sick of rattling the mud out and getting nowhere

I just ordered Rubba a camp bed which is a smaller version of mine (hardcase) and a travel bed roll. She will be pretty excited Jude when she sees that and now she'll want to take the tent next time 😬 Just made our week 🤗🙌🏽

aussie pies are the worst, especially the four n twenty pies.
For frozen pies they are delicious, especially the pepper steak ones 😀
