I think the greatest tragedy I ever witnessed on this channel is when The Office Blokes watched the shortened, incomplete version of Dave Chapelle's Rick James skit. Such a missed opportunity to see them react to one of the greatest stories ever

Nobody wants to listen to anyone for 5 hrs idc who it is. But yeah small/medium sized clubs are the best. That's why most comics say the Comedy Works in Denver is the best. Dave's favorite.
@@willvr4 I was there for a 3 hour surprise show from Dave. The first 2 were fun, but the last hour felt like Dave coming up with tweets about random stuff in his head and just saying on stage instead of online

And that's not a short attention span, I can easily watch a 3hr movie (shit I saw Batman last night) But 1 single person for 5 hours can't possibly string together a coherent message for that long and stay interesting.

I worked in a very well known hotel/apartment building in NYC in the late 90's. Kevin Spacy lived there at the time. He had a lot of young boys in and out. It was a pretty well known secret we couldn't tell others about, but the staff joked about it all the time. Not sure how old the boys were, but the few I actually saw with my own eyes looked about 14.

I didn't write it as a joke. I was stating facts I witnessed. This was before anyone ever had an inkling he was a predator. It was the 90's. The staff would joke about him being a paedophile, but not really believing it. It was not something you'd think was really happening with someone in Hollywood. Its only now that I see what's happened with him that I look back & think maybe that gossip was actually true. OF COURSE ITS GROSS.

You guys didn't react to Chappelle's mention of Charlie Rose at the beginning of the video. He was a television journalist and talk show host. Producer of his own show and news broadcaster in Public Television and CBS. He also was a correspondent for 60 Minutes. In 2017 he was accused by several women of sexual misconduct and eventually there were more than 30 accusers from co-workers to makeup artists in the studios. He was fired and various awards he had received during his life were rescinded. That is how the comedian started this bit.

I felt really selfish like Dave. House of Cards was one of my favorite shows, and when they fired him in the middle of shooting season 5 it killed the show. Season 5 was ok, but a big dip from the rest of the seasons.
The cuts may have been two nights of shows put together.

Most correction or corrective actions for sex offenders has next to zero socially positive results. The offender doesn’t get better with the passing of time while incarcerated, only the public is safe from the predatory behaviors of those locked up. I’m good with that.
I think the evidence surrounding 'treatment' for sex offenders is actually very controversial and uncertain - partly because its very difficult to obtain data on the issue but also because both offenders are like any group of people diverse and the treatment programs very around the world. And given the disdainful nature of the crimes you can see why people would not want to develop such things. But actually, depending on the intervention and measurement, there's promising evidence that some interventions such as certain forms of therapy does in fact yield positive results and reduced recidivism. And if they are to be released anyway, its best to try and reduce re-offending as much as possible. In essence, the statement that corrective actions has little effect is self-fulfilling since no widespread, reasonable effort has been made to even justify the claim.

Bob, you’ve justified every reason for hands off/non-effective management of predatory sex offenders treatment to be halted in its tracks. In its place, secure incarceration which isolates and provides separation from the offender and communities not prepared to fight the enslaught of active sex offenders, in effect as you seem to propose, to resume their trolling for victims.
There isn’t evidence that treatment of sex offenders is effective, period. Your suggesting that if treatment modalities are unsuccessful it’s effectively just too bad, and tough beans for the victim. Where is yours, or the systems concern of and for keeping the public safe from sick sex offenders who are generally NOT treatable! Have these puke criminals babysit your young son, or be willing to. If you are OK with placing control and well-being into the hands of a guilty sex offender, you should become a gardener, or whatever, just nothing to do with children’s well-being.
I am not a practicing therapist nor am I a qualified expert in criminology, though it is one of my interests. So take my opinions with five tons of salt.
I think your reading comprehension has misfired - when did I state that we should ditch secure incarceration in favour of a hands-off approach? My point was that more research is needed, given how reliable data is how we progress as a society. And I am pretty sure further research would show far stricter prison sentences would be needed.
When did I say that it's just 'too bad' if treatment modalities are unsuccessful? The point is, given that most would be released REGARDLESS, why not reduce that risk with methods that have good data behind it? For which we need to actually carry out comprehensive research? With your mindset, I assume you prefer these people to not receive any such intervention and hence you hope to have more terrible stories of abuse! Unless you live in a fantasy world where the government and justice system are keeping the predators in prison forever.
I know this whole topic is extremely important and emotive, but don't pull bullshit arguments I never made out of thin air and assume I want degenerate monsters released from prison - given your plan, I assume that you don't care about how many might suffer from our lack of care in this field. Either way, I had just wanted to add an aside about the state of research in this field but instead you foamed at the mouth at something I can't quite perceive.

I spent quite near twenty years working as a therapist and direct care provider in two separate secure treatment facilities, in hospitals, with teens & kids, up to age eighteen. All treatment was planned and implemented by professional staff with legal recording of plans, goals, treatment and results.
Good intentions and hopeful treatment of patients with prevailing diagnosed sexual predatory behavior is very old school and ineffective, generally. Enough so that mingling of clientele is to be avoided, prohibitively! Good wishes are worth their weight in ‘nothing’. I wish treatment of sex offenders were more effective. Results are what they are.
