HEY Y’ALL! Merina is my name and Mobile Home Livin’ is my thang! Around here I’m known for mobile home makeovers and large family mobile home livin’! I used to do mobile home livin’ in a trailer park in Tennessee. We’ve set out on a new journey and bought our dream home - a double wide mobile home on some acreage in the hills of Tennessee! I love your videos. I truly love the relationship that you and Shane have. You’re a very lucky woman. I was wondering if the fearfully creative family and friends could pray for my 22 yr old son and myself. He came home Monday with covid he is feeling somewhat better today. But now I believe I’m getting it. Ive had this headache all day, now body ache chills and shortness of breath. I’m a 60 yr old obese woman with bad airways, diabetes and high blood pressure. Please pray for healing.

I need prayers too, I will be 62 August 9 … I’ve just got a life Alert, I used to be 5 ft 5 inches. I now am 5 2. I lost 15 lbs in 2 months. I’m in Sarasota Florida we had horrible damage in our area from the storm. Prayers you and your family are safe.
I would suggest to anyone who is going to do this that you should sand and then use a Primer like kiltz prior to painting. It will help the paint stick, and it would cover up the color of the countertop so you would not have to put so many layers of paint on.

Y’all need to wear respirators. I can’t emphasize this enough. My husband is a refinisher and those chemicals will get into your lungs and can cause so many issues. I get you guys aren’t doing this every day but it is so important. Please please please. But your counters look great. I truly love your enthusiasm and energy. ❤❤❤
The little recessed section between the sink cabinet and the oven would be the perfect place for a couple of spice racks.
Or a place for cookie sheets, griddles etc.
Or cutting boards
If you don't like the idea of using that space to the right of the sink for a trash can to go in there you could always just frame it and put a cabinet door in front of it and build a shelf inside. No one would know the difference from it being a regular cabinet 🤷♀️
Yes , I know it’s bugging me to have that space wasted 😂. But it’s not my kitchen and I’m not the one renovating it 😊

You can raise the stove up to the height of the countertops by unscrewing the legs a bit

You two should have your own show on HGTV! I can't believe how real that countertop looks! When you taped over your cabinets, I could see that the space between your under sink cabinets and stove was actually indented a couple of inches. You could put a couple of shallow shelves on there and maybe make a small spice rack. Just a thought. Keep up the fantastic work! 😊

Marina please put poly on top of the epoxy it will stain if you don't.. Karrie Lynn had to redo hers and she put poly on it to help with staining

Marina I hoped u corked under the sink before u installed onto the counter. Water can drip underneath from counter onto base cabinet under sink n ruin bottom from water damage. It happened to me. Hopes this helps.
I think she meant to say caulked (not corked). I think my hubby used silicone underneath the sink to prevent leaks.
Shane, if you have trouble getting nails below the surface of the wood. You can get different sizes of nail sets. They will help you set the nail below the surface.

Maybe a primer was needed on the countertop first? A checklist before the next project to keep yourself on track. I know getting excited to start things, you might forget steps. ❤

I have a farmhouse sink like that and the same faucet. Mine came with a rack. I recommend a rack so dishes don’t rub the sink. It’s a sturdy sink but I want it to last. ❤
Just a suggestion. When you go to do the countertops in the bathroom I would use marine grade sealer instead of the epoxy. Epoxy is so much harder to control in smaller areas. Your kitchen will take much more wear that the bathrooms

Great idea Shane about the quarter round counter edging. You're a genius! I didn't see Shane glue the sink down. Isn't it necessary to avoid water from leaking underneath the edges? The kitchen is looking great. You guys are kicking butt on the project. Can't wait to see it all completed.
Actually you need to use a silicone water-proof sealant. But, I think that's what you meant. 🥰
Marvelous job! Thank you for sharing the process. My condo's laminate countertops are original to when it was built, 1978. They are functional but desperately need to be updated. I, too, must consider cost carefully. This absolutely looks like something I can handle.

Doing a great job! I enjoy watching all your projects. I love how you "sizzling on a shoe string budget" I am a Bargin Decorator too. The box on the right side of the sink can be opened up for shelves for baskets to store dish clothes and etc. Or you can make vertical slats for cutting boards, cookie sheet Pans etc. Have fun! I would have left the cabinet open by your stove for your garbage can. Would be a perfect place to tuck it away. Or you could put sliding baskets in for your potatoes, onions and such. Hundreds of things you could use that space for.
Is there any way you could raise your stove to be level or a little higher than your countertop ?
