Welcome to Serbia. I'm originally from Russia, but I moved to Serbia just recently. Actually, I've been dreaming of moving to Canada for like a decade but I didn't qualify for visa and I heard that sadly Canada is not the county as it used to be 10-20 years ago. It's way too expensive, bureaucratic and housing bubble is just terrible. Even IT guys barely surviving and if you lose a job there, then you are literally one step away from being poor and homeless 🤔 Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what my friends and many CZcamsrs from Canada tell on the internet.
Serbia on the other hand is very welcoming and quite affordable, even to those who come from the "east". The diversity here is just incredible. So many people from different countries. ♥

Serbian here living in Toronto. Canada is a lot worse than two years ago. Also my Serbs that make $5000 net pay per month are starting to leave Canada for Serbia. If your mortgage was $3000 two years ago, it must be $5000 now. My advise, revisit Canada before you leave Serbia for good and learn more Serbian. Wish you luck.

Canadians are polite but Serbs are friendly. Serbia is tough for Serbians to make a living and is ten times harder for an immigrant. If you marry an established/employed Serbian man you could contribute by being English teacher and live a normal life. Keep in mind that Yugoslavia went through the civil war and is still recovering from all that destruction. If you have an online business it would really help if you are single and without (adopted) family support! .

I do have a Serbian boyfriend! He’s the only way I’ve been able to manage living here for this long, makes my life here so much better. And I have plans to do some work to give back to the community! But also want to focus on creating just a solid income online.

Ha ha, about driving, it's not chaos, it's therapy. I live in Australia, similar to you in Canada, people simply don't have the option to let go of everything that bothers them, they're all like hypnotized zombies.
As for the relationship and how you treat each other, well, I called it in the case of Australia, which I call the land of fake smiles.Many people don't like it here, but that's how I see it. Simply, people here are forced by the business owners to always smile at customers, which has turned into acting like that all the time.Now something happened to you that makes you unhappy, but you have to pretend that everything is ok, and that's why I love Serbia, because you can see how they feel on the faces of those people, and then you adjust your performance according to what you see.It's more humane in Serbia than in the West, where everything is subordinated to profit. Regarding friendship, I hope you've learned to distinguish friendship from acquaintance.In any case, wherever you live, try to absorb what is best in those cultures, that will make you a better person. There is no perfect country or perfect system.Anyway, all the best wherever you decide to live.

Anglo-Saxons in general are extremely fake people. That's why in Serbian we have the saying "Pravi Se Englez", which literally translated into English means "act like the Englishman" i.e. be fake like the Englishman. This is the reason you see so many mentally ill and/or drug addicted people roaming the streets of Toronto or Vancouver. Anglo-Saxons for the most part won't look after their drug addict or mentally ill family members- they just leave them to their own devices. Serbians are more likely to look after their mentally ill and/or drug addicted family members. Hence why you see less of such people roaming the streets of Belgrade.
I'm Croatian-born, Canadian-raised and living in Belgrade. I actually bumped into a Canadian (no Serbian background) woman who works in Belgrade at the International School. I talked to her dad who came to visit, and he complained about housing prices, like everyone else. Personally, what I miss about Canada is the diversity, like real Asian restaurants (Serbia has some but they seem tailored to local customs), and chatting to strangers. I speak Serbian but if you chat to people sitting next to you in a cafe, many of them will feel awkward because it's not common to chat up strangers. Anyway, I agree about winters.
You learn a language in a matter of a few months enough to express your thoughts and emotions to a this or that degree, depending on your knack for languages. It is a great and rewarding experience which enriches you linguistically, culturally and personally helping you to grow as a person.
Absolutely. Learning Serbian has been difficult but I take a lot of pleasure in communicating with others with what I do know 🥰
I’ve lived in various places in the US and Europe and spent a lot of time in BC when I lived on the border. Canadians are indeed very friendly! I wouldn’t want to live under the current government, however. I am interested in Serbia for many reasons. But at this moment in time, I like that it’s a more neutral, sovereign nation unlike the US, Canada and most of the EU member states. Personally, it helps my decision making in terms of residency/dual citizenship to consider the “big picture” benefits. We all remember 2020 and how much or how little tyranny we personally endured. Canada closed its border, separating families like the Berlin Wall once did. As a Canadian, you’ll always have the option to be locked down under curfews there. But will you have an option to be somewhere less restrictive? This is my thinking now. I would be in Portugal today but everything changed in March 2020. I scrapped years of planning overnight and went back to the drawing board. Hungary used to be my first choice having spent a lot of time there. But Serbia has many unique advantages for expats. Apart from the things you mentioned, what made you chose Serbia over Portugal? I feel like these two countries are rarely compared and I'm in a situation where I need to choose between them, which I find challenging.

Your video is very interesting. We were 1 week on holiday in Belgrade in July with my boyfriend. We really enjoy the beauty of the city, met friendly Serbian people and spoke with them was very interesting to understand the culture..We liked the food a lot. It was very safe for tourist, more than some place in Italia for example. The only think was difficult for me and I'm agree with you: people in the supermarket or in the service ( Post, kiosk...) were sometimes quite rude: no smile and I have often the feeling to disturbe, even I always said " hello" in Serbian ...
It's like a rule in Serbia, idk why, ppl with those jobs are 90% assholes who hate everything including themselves lol.
The key is to not get it personally. They work for very very small wages and are sick of everything. After some time you learn how to go with the flow and you don't notice it anymore. Go in, get what you need and continue with your day. As a Serb, if someone is rude to me over the limit I let them know. They usually calm down.
I understand where you coming from, and how hard it is when you live in the country that doesn't speak your native language. When you've mentioned how you find repeating yourself all the time when having conversation in Serbian and how hard is to have full adult conversation with all bits and pieces of your personality imbedded into how you speak , I felt ya completely. I remember how hard was for me for years after I have moved to Canada, and how limited I felt expressing myself just because not having conversation in my native language. Just missing those cultural references that are deeply rooted in one language are enough for you to not be able to express yourself fully. You literally have to be born in that country in order to fully grasp all cultural subtleties. Whole situation just shapes you in a way that is sometimes really tough and can be depressing because you don't really feel like yourself and people really don't get to know who you really are and what your personality truly is. Humor especially, if you are person that have subtle sense of humor, that is usually influenced by lots of cultural references that you were exposed to while growing up, it really doesn't translates well; often you just end up making lame dad jokes that makes everyone cringe. Moving to another country is super tough unless you are very young. I've moved to Vancouver in my late teens, and still after all these years living in Canada I'm not fully adapted, but at same time when I go to Serbia I don't feel like being at home either anymore , all my relatives telling me how I'm saying too much of thank you and sorry and how I'm being just too polite. On other hand my fellow Canadian saying completely opposite that I'm not saying enough sorry and thank you and how I'm being too direct and blunt. I'm still looking that place where I will call home again, but till then I consider myself being a citizen of the world.
Ooof yes you hit the nail on the head! I always feel the same way. Not completely at home in Canada but also not in Serbia. It’s not easy being between worlds!

@@aramisone7198 I'm sorry is that question were directed to me or was it for Isabel? Yes I can speak Serbian it is my first language, sometimes I do forget some words because I'm not using it on daily basis, but yeah I can speak read and write in Serbian both alphabets Cyrillic and Latin.

This is very true, I`m from Serbia and moved to Alberta and travel constantly Western Canada. Growing up I used to analyze and somewhat judge people on the way they speak, form sentences and explain themselves, and I found myself in a situation to be heavily judged by the way I speak English and express myself. It definitely is frustrating but after 17 years here in Alberta I`ve heard many times people also say "You are so Canadian, more than most Canadians I know". I feel at home in Canada and I also feel at home in Serbia, you have to keep in mind the cultural difference and don`t get offended easily with politically incorrect interactions. Serbian language has a polite and formal way of communication but it`s also crude, rude, direct and offensive between friends and close family.
You think 100% like me. Same thoughts and doubts.
I can't accept idea of living in one place.
Same place same job .. 5, 10.. 20 years and you are old and zoomed out - spent life in one spot.
I love moving places, I enjoyed chaos of New Delhi, Bangkok is my favourite city in the world, I love Philippines and Indonesia when is freezing in Europe..
Life is not long enough for all the places I would like to live in.
Ideal solution is to have enough money and free time, then every corner on the planet is no more than 24 hours away.
So it doesn't really matter where my 'main' base is. .
I'm from Serbia, but opposite of you it's not new and exotic. I guess for me Cambodia is feeling you get fron Serbia 😊

What you said about Serbians not being friendly is totally true. It used to be different even 15 years ago. I remember my house always being full of the family members and the neighbours. Nowadays everyone has started minding their own business, the family members are not as close as they used to be, even trying to arrange a night out with friends has gotten very difficult. We’ve became very selfish and materialistic nation in last 15 to 20 years. But apart from that )and the crazy drivers 😅), I love my country 😊
For me, I more so find that when dealing with Serbians out in public, at maxi or in a restaurant, that they’re not the nicest lol. Once you get to know them they’re super sweet.
I’m also a hustler and Canada is so about the hustle culture that I find Belgrade to be significantly more relaxed lol
@@Isabel-Maria Oh that’s true as well. Personally I think it’s because of their low wages and they are just worried about how they will make the ends meet between two salaries. Especially in Belgrade. But in smaller cities the shop assistants and the waiters in local coffee shops even know you by your name.
Even in the immediate vicinity of Belgrade there are very beautiful natural beauties. There are many videos in which foreigners (Americans, French, Russians...) visit those non-urban areas, mountains and they are all amazed by the hospitality of the people and the natural beauty. I completely understand your nostalgia and that's the most normal thing, missing family, close friends and all those little things you miss from your homeland. In any case, I wish you the best in whatever scenario you decide!🤗
Whatever suits you better economically, at least one of important factor to consider. But do make a decision based on your feelings. You can buy and carry the pepper spray here legally, make sure it is the pepper based not the tear gas, the tear gas is not legal. One thing that still annoy me and I can not get used to, is when someone hit the horn behind me, try to simply ignore it if you can. They use horn to hurry you up, and is a custom for at least 10 years now. People were a bit better drivers in the past, because today nobody use basic driving instructions. It’s hard to say which is better economically! Definitely easier to make better money in Canada but the cost of living is also much higher.

I could alternate 90 days in The Czech Republic where they have more things that you would normally want and the other 90 and maybe Novi Sad. It seems like a plausible plan even with Serbian citizenship but for some reason I'm simply not sufficiently motivated to give up the good life here. I'm familiar with Zadar and Zaton in Croatia knowing my way around there but a drive to Galveston and the beaches wins out. And we have the fabulous Buc-Ee"s en route. Even the Vietnamese food is better in Houston. There is so much here I would miss. I can even take a train from Houston to Lakbe Charles in Louisiana for $22. To the giant casinos there just to eat or see a big show. And in the US or Canada there are scenic train trips with thr money.
I was in Prague for 15 years and learned a lot about slavic lifestyle. 1 day I was sitting in the main square and I found myself one of the few old-timers left everybody else had gone back to the United States and the only came from or some other place. I was bored I would start to being the American in Prague. I've been there shortly after the coming is left and I've gone through all the stages for it to become more like Western Europe if that's even possible. I like the food.
So I was entertaining the idea of returning to your via Serbia. The food is different but everyone says it's good. The language is similar to check enough so that I could probably learn it At least 2 intermediate. Still if you are living as a good American whether it's can of dumb or USA and you're in Europe the people ask you the standard questions to ask any American over and over. It's not the same as living on your own country. I moved back to Houston Texas which the lot of people figure is not worth very much but actually it's a big surprise if you look into it. And people in Texas are courteous and kind and a lot of their culture is based on that. They're certainly not liberal but that doesn't mean they don't have a liberal bone in their body. As I get older I find their courtesy so sincere and helpful. And I do like efficiency so I can get things done when they're needed to be done. I can order things and make them quicker rather than later. Oh society seems to be turning more online than off. I don't even carry cash anymore.
I miss Eastern Europe or Central Europe however you wish to call it. Like a lot of times I don't because when I look into it I realized it wasn't about so much me as it was the fact The culture I came from which was America. I missed being just one of the people.
Permit me to introduce you to a concept you perhaps haven't heard of. It's called the Boomerang expat. My own parents had lived foreign for 15 years and finally returned to Ft Colin's, Colorado. Everything is so much easier once you return. Everything. We have cafe culture in The Heights, in The Woodlsnds, and in Spring Tx. T he Galleria area in Houston plus downtown have it too. If it ecosystem its somewhere in Houston. We even have Serbian food at Cafe Adel and a few other places, borek.
It's so nice to be understood and most everywhere people are kind. Handicapp spaces reserved for those who need em. Etc etc.
May I suggest Rome, Madrid and Lisbon as spots that might actually match your preferences much more?

We left Canada in 2021 also. We are from Edmonton and now split our time between, Mexico, Serbia and Hungary. We really like Belgrade and we will probably be getting our residency next year. Have made lots of good friends in Belgrade. I do have in the back of my mind if Canada turn a corner for the better of maybe making Canada of one of three places we live. Now you can get citizenship in Serbia after 3 years of residency. That will be a major goal of ours. My loyalty to Canada has been brought down a lot seeing what Canada is voting for. I am optimistic it is starting to turn around, however I will be be taxed to death in Canada. So our overall ideal goal will be 3 places and one has low taxes where we can claim our tax residency.
Literally this is my goal exactly 😍 we’re actually headed to Mexico for a month or two this winter! I’d love to know how you’ve arranged your life to be able to pull off moving between the three places?
@@Isabel-Maria It's been a process.... So currently we have enough money of our own to be able to live for the foreseeable future and I basically just manage my investments. Looking at starting a hedge fund of my own, but that a whole separate thing. We homeschool our kid at the moment while we travel around and figure out the places we want to be for the longer term. We live in Queretaro Mexico in the winter and are residents of mexico. We are also headed to Paraguay to get residency there this winter. It's a zero tax jurisdiction and minimal time requirements to maintain it and a good plan B if everything gets nuts. We are in Budapest and headed to Cyprus for the prospect there due to it being a non dom tax country with a tax treaty with Canada. We will be going to Greece next year since they also have a good tax program for foreigners. Lots of these special tax status countries require you to buy property in general...except paraguay, uruguay, panama. We want our tax paying residency country to have the most flexibility in terms of time required in country to maintain the tax residency.
Looking at possible getting citizenship in the Carribean next year to have a second passport. In the meantime will be letting time pass towards getting closer Paraguay and Mexico citizenship and possibly Serbian next year. Paraguay and Mexico the last 2 years before your citizenship application require to be in country for 6 months. In a few years we will need to consider that in how we split our time in those years. Serbia will be the same to just maintain the residency...So basically Serbia will require us 3 years in a row of maintaining 6 months there.
So Basically right now for places to live we are Mexico, Serbia or Hungary, but checking out Cyprus/Greece for tax residency (have most flexibility). Also looking at Oman for tax residency and spending the winters.
We have not looked at Asia all that much since it is so far from Canada and very humid. My wife does not like it being way too hot and humid...LOL
When it comes to tax structures, when we know the places we want to now live, we will spend the money on Nomad Capitalist to put together our plan. I'm hoping that towards the end of the year next year we will be doing that.

There is also New Zealand, Australia and a few south american countries. As per your point Mexico is a great pick because US, Canada and Mexico has treaty allowing you to easily move around and integrate so you'd have a huge leg up.
I’ve actually lived in Asia! And although it is super gorgeous, the culture doesn’t completely do it for me. I absolutely love Spanish culture, so split time between Canada, Mexico, and Serbia is a sweet spot 🥰 though I do plan to do asia probably next winter though!

I like your idea of living in several places, and having 2 or perhaps even 3 bases) However, from a financial standpoint, how could you make that work? If you have short term rental apartments you can end up paying 2 or 3 times the going rate on an AirBnB vs. just renting the whole year in one place. Also you end up paying a lot of airfare + your stuff esp. big items which help make your life easier + comfortable can be difficult to ship back and forth. I know the very rich make it work by just buying homes in different locations & just having several sets of things in each place as they have the money) Sadly I do not :)
I think the best way to make this work is to own a house in several different locations and rent it out on Airbnb when you’re not there. Otherwise, you have the option to have a main hub where you keep most of your bigger items, which you move into storage when you leave on a trip with only your essentials and try and find longer-stay accommodations when you go/do work away wherever you travel to, stuff like that. Personally, I’d like to do the former, but also haven’t managed to make enough money to do so yet 😂 but that’s my goal
@@Isabel-Maria Do you have any good advice on where to find longer stay accommodation? There seems to be a bit of a grey area between short stay apartments (AirBnB/BookingDotCom) and the domestic real estate market (run by local estate agents). The former you dont want to use for long stay as the per night cost adds up to *2/*3 the domestic rent. The latter often won't consider rentals less than a year. So if you wanted to spend say 3 months in a place where do you go to?
Yes! So I would say it’s a good idea to try joining expat/housing Facebook groups in the city you want to go to. Often people are looking to sublet when they go on vacation and you can get short term rentals for the local price. You can also try trustedhousesitters.com if you like pets, and when I’m going somewhere for longer than a week I sometimes message airbnbs to see if I can do a booking offline to save some cash. Hopefully this helps!
All of that being said, you can usually expect to have to move places a couple times if you plan to stay somewhere for a few months, but it’s definitely better than trying to survive living in airbnbs
@@Isabel-MariaHey thanks for the tips) Yes using AirBnBs esp. for longer stays can be unpleasant) ... they aren't kitted out for longer stays, the kitchens with 2 tiny hobs if your lucky, the tiny toilets you have to squeeze into, not to mention the thin mattresses which give you backache after a few days Lol All part of the AirBnB 'experience' ;) Have you had any luck negotiating with estate agents, saying look Ill take it for 3 or 6 months? Or perhaps with cheaper hotels like an Ibis (although they too dont have cooking faculties for instance)?

Heyy isabel, hope you're doing well. I'm Armenian also contemplating on moving to Belgrade. But i have no idea how to get a temporary residence permit so that i can legally live and work in Serbia. Can you help me out or give me any advice? For us Armenians we don't need a visa to visit Serbia for up to 3 month's. But i would like to live there permanently so I'm looking for legal ways to move there and hopefully find a job and stay
Hey! So there are essentially 4 ways that you can get residency here. One is to buy property, one is to open a business (either a personal business or an LLC), one is to become common law with a Serbian, and one is to get a work permit by working for a Serbian company.
I imagine the easiest and least expensive would be to get a work permit, but from what I hear right now, it’s not the easiest to find jobs, especially if you don’t have some specific skill set. You can browse online and start applying for jobs, or if you already have a stable online income, can open your own business here. But it’s a little pricey to get everything set up, and you will need to bring money in through the business and pay taxes, etc.

Concentrate on learning the language, in the meantime, both Edmonton and Vancouver will get warmer, and you know. you shouldn't think that an intoxicated person might not follow you at 4 am in Belgrade outskirts (or even downtown). But, in comparison to Santa Cruz del islote near Columbia, (here you'd be near your Mexico preference), we're a prefered option in my opinion. Ah this video is old news. Still in Serbia and loving it, no plans to go back. And I did Mexico this past winter and was very glad I decided to move here instead of there!

My wife is from Serbia and I am from Greece, if you want better weather go to a small city in Greece, don't go to Athens it is chaos also don't go to Thessaloniki too big. Greece it has small cities for example Volos or Preveza that have everything. Best if you could combine both countries. But i wish you what ever decision you will take to have a great time and to be happy.
People say one wastes their lives in the US or Canads. I'm a well-rrad passion with a degree. I like a good conversation as much as anyone but let me tell you most people don't read. This is especially true in other cultures such thise in entrap Europe or Latin America. I know because I was there.

I understand that learning a new language is difficult, I had to do that myself more than once in my life. But living in Serbia since 2 years not being able to communicate with people? Maybe you shouldn't live in a non-English country? Serbians are very friendly but people will have more difficulties opening up to a stranger who barely speaks their language. And having lived in Canada for years, it is the same in the "Real North". My experience with Canada (contrary to Europe) is that, yes, people are easy to speak to... but that mostly doesn't automatically transform into friendships.
Being able to speak fluent enough Serbian to communicate on the level I can in English after living here for less than 2 years would require tons of dedication to learning it.
Slavic languages aren’t easy to learn.

Honestly I feel like covid is the perfect example. Serbia didn’t really lock down and there were huge protests when the govt tried to impose tight restrictions, while Canada completely shut down and basically turned into a police state lol

I am Serbian living in Ontario, Canada. Thanks to Trudeau, Canada is not what was few years ago. I don’t plan to go back to Serbia. I love Canadian politeness and I am hoping things will improve once Trudeau is gone. I was in Serbia in May, and it just confirmed for me that I don’t want to go back. There are no jobs, and people are depressed. I love Serbia and Serbian people, but life is not easy.

You are right, no country is perfect. But a lack of social and urban structure in Serbia is keeping me not move back home. I have lived in Australia for the passed 33 yeara and I love it. But just like Canada, ever since lock downs and draconian policing during that time, has ruind something here as well.
Yeah I have family in Vojvodina and love popping in! Definitely more relaxed. Right now I’m trying to decide between getting a countryside place in Kosmaj, lake Perucac, and cacak 🙈

You don't need to speak Serbian langauge Serbs know English very good. Serbia is a great country to live in... peaceful, clam. friendly. socialize together. There's a lot of people living there in Serbia Americans, Canadians, Africans, Chinese, You name it..
There are a lot of people here who speak English, but if I’m living somewhere I’d prefer to speak the language 🥰 I don’t love making people speak in English around me all the time!
@@Isabel-Maria I understand dearie. actually Serbian isn't that hard to learn. if you have the time make a video of yourself learning a few basic lessons in Serbian. there are Serbian books where you learn from it. or if you go to Google just type in Serbian langauge lessons and it will give you lists of Serbian common words.. since i am a Serb myself living in Canada.. I was born and raised here in Canada but yet again i speak Serbian and English of course. I have Serbian family there i Communicate them from time to time and they understand me 100% but some words mess with but they correct me. when i was in my teens I learned Serbian myself with no help..

Yes we are a little different, yes we may look unapproachable or what not. That’s only because our country and religion have been on the constant front line defending our freedom. First read upon our history, learn a little more about our religion. Visit Zica, Studenica, Mileseva, Manasija .. this will give you peace and comfort to understand us a little more. You are absolutely right in most of your conclusions but believe me, Serbs are a one big family. If we love you, we simply love you for life. We don’t bend for no one, we don’t pretend to be anything we are not and nothing can surprise us. Just remember one thing there is NO GOLDEN MIDDLE. It simply doesn’t exist. Serbia is sure something getting used to but…. It has everything. Or just go to Australia, same as Canada but has the weather you want. 😂. Good luck!

Serbia is where you live, laugh and make lifelong friends. Canada (or insert generic english country who are all the same but ppl pretend they aren't all english) is where ppl go to work into their 70's, get divorced, have their kids hate them and become part of the rainbow community and gorge on food that can barely not be called trash. No offense but the fakeness, drug abuse, degenerate lifestyles, criminality and oppressive governments in the english world is like nothing I have ever experienced before. No one (not even the actual citizens) want to live in these countries. If it wasn't for the US dollar and wealth of the west no one would go there. Serbia's (and other similar countries) only problem is the lack of money and opportunity. Otherwise, if money was no problem I would live in the jungles of Botswana over Canada or the other 4 eyes.

@@Isabel-Maria In the salt mine known as the US right now. I'm lucky I can leave as I have roots in other countries. But like you mentioned. Serbia is great until it comes to money and employment opportunities. So right now I do what all the other Serbs in the west do. Work all day, send money back home, try to avoid getting stabbed by the homeless on the streets or getting a needle stick injury and relax and recover back in the Balkans.

how is this even a topic of discussion, you compare a top wealthy country with top rated index of living year after year vs. a country decimated by poverty, with all-time high corruption, zero development, zero education system, zero health care system, emigration on steep hill and only growing, etc. Serbia is a very nice country to visit, with some amazing people, but it is just a country to visit.
I’ve been living here for 2 years and have no plans to leave any time soon 🥰 Serbia and more developed countries are attractive for different reasons
But also, education here is phenomenal, health care is great, and there’s actually a lot of new infrastructure being developed. The economy here is not great, hence why a lot of people decide to leave, but I also think it’s on the up and ups

I suppose you have lived in a rabbit hole? The country has developed enormously the last two decades. It is very easy to see if you visit the country from abroad every other year. Education is highly ranked. Belgrade has had an IT-boom the last years, and was declared the city with the greatest economic potential of the 100 largest cities in the region of Emerging Europe, which includes 11 EU-countries for 2 years in a row.
Health care is for everybody, many have private insurance as well and this is not different from many other countries in the west. Violent crime is much lower than in many other countries in the west, especially compared to the USA.
A lot of foreigners have moved to Serbia the past years, and I am not including the Russians now but I mean from richer countries. Even The New York Post has written about it. Sure, it has problems, some worse, some less, but the situation is far from what you present it to be.
@@emilpopovic6167 The data looks great on paper! In fact, a lot of immigrants prefer to go to Serbia than in Canada. Furthermore, I heard that University of Toronto, McGill and British Columbia all struggle to get students as they rather prefer to get better education in Serbia. I also heard that Canadians book tickets to EU and then cross illegally to Serbia to get medical treatment to avoid the long VISA ques at Serb embassies. I do not deny that Serbia did and continues to do a lot of progress but the comparison with Canada is too far fetched from all points of view.
