Villanelle is the most genuine portrayal of anti social personality disorder I've ever seen on tv. The way S4 ep 1-4 truly showcase how she can't understand why people don't give into their every impulse is fun to watch but also heartbreaking.
She's not evil, because she has no intention to be evil. She's pure desire, unabated by any form of conscience. She uses people because she gets bored and has no way of empathizing with their point of view. She's manipulative because she's able to step to lows no normal person would think of.
I really think there's no way for them to end the series without her or Eve dying because even if she does love Eve, she'll get bored after a few days and kill her.
Neither of them die in the books and they get to be together.
Hey Kyle, I found your response very insightful. Around the beginning there were discussions of Villanelle being a psychopath, but fictionalized and not entirely accurate. But anti social personality disorder seems pretty fitting and I'm glad it's at least somewhat relatable rather than adding to the demonization and stigmatization of people with disorders and mental illnesses
That's one way of looking at it! However, I'd like to point out that their dynamic (Eve and Villanelle's) have changed towards the end of S3 and going into S4 where they are able now to be in the same room together, unlike in previous seasons. Like Sandra mentioned, there is this possibility of them being together which I think will be explored further in the last few episodes and I'm so here for it! (Also, this was such a great take on Villanelle's character!)
This is awesome, you can totally feel you put a lot in this clip. I love how this shows her vulnerable side as well and how she really tries to change, but it's like nothing aprund her really helps her to.
Thank you! It's really heartbreaking to see her want to change so badly, yet there is always something or someone that interferes with that. And that is an indication that it's not who she really wants to become, but rather to look within and accept her true self, which doesn't have to be depicted as "evil" or a "monster" like everyone keeps referring to her as.
@@Infinitex I agree. And what she said to Konstantin in the last ep 'ypu never believed I was more than that' prooves how much she relies on people to NOT see her like that in order to believe it herself thay she can be more. But I hope she will find it in herself.
Another great edit! That's it, you've started! :) Villanelle and her continual search for identity. She wants to be normal, she wants to... fit in, but she never really does. She imitates. She doesn't have the right codes...

Thank you! I'm not sure if I will be able to get back into my S3 editing era (it was WILD) but I'm really trying to work on these edits as much as possible since the show is ending and I really do need to put my feelings somewhere lol.
As for Villanelle, yeah she never truly fit in and I relate to that on some level, so it's interesting to see how she goes around on doing that!
