Instead of repeating the same formula of a criminal organization, they made it look more like cult with good and bad people. Rose/Whitley has good intentions but through Hugh we discover the defects of the method he supports so much.
Kris in the manga also temporarily lost the use of her arms, so she learned how to kick pokeballs. She eventually got use of her arms again, but she’s far more used to kicking, and I think that’s so cool

What’s interesting is that kicking pokeballs is considered an advanced technique, and is the technique that Giovanni also uses.
Nate- Known for resonating with others
Lack-two/Blake- Known for being a sociopath
The Adventures Manga just takes the already existing elements in the given Game/Gen and add the aspects of their own personalities and bonding between each dex holders to make it a Masterpiece
I like how Sword raises Pokémon that use tools, like Sirfetch'd, so he makes it his job to learn how to care for creating, repairing, and maintaining the items that his teams use.
It’s the other way around. His family comes from a lineage of blacksmiths so he gravitated his team around using tools.
I think that X in manga has 5 mega evolved Pokemon simultaneously is a notable example to point out as in the games, the player character can only mega-evolve one Pokemon at a time.
Yea I made a whole video on that but somehow forgot to mention it here
To be fair x at the time had five different catalysts in hand to perform that mega evolution and nearly cried his brain in the process.
Their similarities AND differences is one of the reasons why I dream the IMPOSSIBLE dream of A PokeMultiverse Tournament with Trainers from Pokemon games, anime, & manga 🥰

One of the things I love about the manga is, that almost all Pokedex holders are somewhat eccentric. It makes them feel different to another and allows interesting dynamics, while staying true to their stories.

Basically most Game protagonists are one dimensional, with generic i like Pokémon personalities, while the manga gives them each their own unique personality, motivation and backstories.
Its why i love the manga the most!
I mean you can’t really blame me the game protagonists are meant to be blank slates for the player after all

Game personality: just a good pokemon trainer
Also this personality seems to be only from Master timeline, in Evolution and even Generation, Lucas, May, and Calem is the MC not the assistant or rival
In the games both lucas and calem are the MC, this is not exclusive to masters and etc, but i fully agree with may brendan is the true protagonist in the hoenn in the mainlie games instead of may but in the masters they changed to the anime's popularity, but at least pokemon masters doesn't interfere in the mainline games's cannon.

@magicwandstudio3141 that's the main reason why you should't never trust pokemon masters as the cannon form, and the may stuff they can change to be the mc of their game, plus since multiverse exists one of those mays in the paiso is the mc of the series.

Took me a while that B2W2 and SwSh protagonists got thier names localized in the US, I normally read the fan translations.
i think the difference in teams actually does make a bit of a difference if im being quite honest. Like for Barry for instance, Since i watched the anime before the even know ab the manga Empoleon just makes the most sense for me but Because of Pearl's personality and his teams focusing on the "speed stat" Infernape fit him pretty well, But in ever other iteration of barry you se him with piplup until Pokemon Diamond and Pearl adventure, where Jun has a Turtwig. I kinda wished that PMAS gave the protag trainers like an ACTUAL thing to do as well, Like if Gloria takes on the gym challenge then Victor makes famous curry or something like that lol
Gloria already did curry, he did not do anything, heck he did not even have the title "cook" on his sync pair, not doing DLC, not being chosen by Zacian and Zamazenta, get the unchosen horse, get the least popular starter without its most useful skill which is grass terrain, still only have one starter while May who is also not the protagonist got two, his treatment is just as worse as Nate. Cause of that, Im glad the manga make him the central character

You can also interpret Rosa and her family in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 making an attempt at a fresh start to life after leaving Team Plasma and thus her journey and extroverted personality. That was until Hugh unveiled his goals and seeing a more fanatic Team Plasma making a comeback was when she was more than willing to support Hugh in his mission. Though most of the grunts don't recognize her, her past had in a sense came back for her. Adding the first game's save data into the sequel game adds to that I think. While continuing with her journey, Rosa was slowly forming her own beliefs and ideals to live with. You can also say she left her Foongus at home to look after her mom.
This relies on you folding the Manga story arc into her game personality. Which is fine if you want to do that.

For a good chunk of the manga counterparts their biggest differences come down to neurodivergent traits? Like Black and Ruby are EXTREMELY hyperfixative, Casey has no concept of volume (which is a textbook trait) and the actual climax of Diamonds characters arc is him telling Cyrus about his neurodivergent traits. I swear I cant be the only one who sees this.
I kinda wish they made Manga Gloria easy to anger just to give a nod at the scottish meme

I started reading the manga not that long ago and manga Red i didnt like at first but he grew on me as time went on.
I havent read ruby/sapphire or black/white yet but i cant wait to read those as they seem good
I readed both, actually still reading trough b/w, but I can easily say are really good arcs. Maybe the best arcs ever made, for my taste.
Red starts too overconfident and not very respectable but without having the same charm as when Gold does that. Red gets better when he gets more mature after get the eevee, i believe thats when he gets more enjoyable
The part I always liked about the Black 2 white 2 arc is how it firmly establishes a Team Plasma civil war. Those that side with N and are genuinely invested in pokemon freedom retain their original outfits and become Team Plasma White (which is the side that Whitley belongs to), whilst those that side with Ghetsis, and are more interested the conquest (thus gets filled with those who would have been stealing pokemon) become Team Plasma Black, and change their uniform to the ninja inspire ones. Both sides remain wanted by the international police, but they do come to an understanding with the White faction as they seem to be genuinely apologetic.
We really need an anime adaptation for these manga.

Rosa I believe would make for an extremely interesting character to focus a story on. Her integration into Team Plasma, her duties and such, and what convinced her to leave after Team Plasma’s defeat despite some members sticking to the goals (Colres I’m lookin at you!) it would be really interesting to just focus on her and see her grow. It’s not often you see Team members just leave and hide.
And yes, I’ll always know her as Rosa, I only ever played the games and watched the anime/movies… which reminds me… wasn’t that Chris girl named Lyra in the anime?
All very true characters in the Pokémon adventures manga even with the video game counterparts are different and similar!❤😊😊

Brendan and May in Pokemon Masters are what Ruby and Sapphire would have been, if a certain event in their childhood didn't happen.
Ruby believing he scared innocent bystanders, lost all motivation and excitement for battles and chose to become a Coordinator.
Sapphire seeing herself in a pinch situation and being rescued by someone around her age, but was wounded, vowed herself to get stronger, becoming independant, so no one would get hurt because of her.
That decision led her to become a feral child by choice.
You forgot to add Lyra from HeartGold and SoulSilver in Crystal's differences since the mangaka had these two merged when HeartGold and SoulSilver arc was made while Kris and Lyra were technically completely different characters.
1:07 just realising that red and blue have swapped personalities compared to their game counterparts. Red in the games is mostly silent and stoic, blue in the manga is stoic. Blue in the games is cocky and obnoxious, red in the manga is cocky, and little obnoxious.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know a single thing about canon Gloria as a character. The Internet has corrupted me and all I know about her is Scottish Gloria meme, and to be honest it has become my default personality for her and I love her like that. There's just something satisfying about seeing a cute and innocent looking girl suddenly going off on you in a Scottish accent and a potty mouth. It's just funny to me.

I never liked manga red back then because he looks like Tyson from Beyblade, and Origins red took some time to get used to as well because of the brown hair. But I know why they did it it was two separate comparisons from him and Ash. But I still miss that ash look but what the reverse best colors from Blue to red
I think there’s a difference between the actual main game personalities and the ones given in masters. Masters is still a spin off game and gives the protagonists personalities that don’t exist in the main games
True true since masters is technically not the same canon but this is still the closest we have to anything on the main characters since they’re just blank slates
The problem then however becomes that most of the games playable characters don't have a personality.
Or if the other gender you didn't choose is a role in the game are there personalities and lives identical regardless of who the player ended up choosing.

4:40 Actually Pearl only says that in Volume 1 of DP, and only three times...part of me wonders if Kusaka was still trying to figure out how to make Pearl's personality differ from Barry's because Pearl never threatens to fine anyone again after those three times in Volume 1...where he does act most like Barry. Also another thing about Pearl that's different from Barry is that while Barry's always the one to BE reigned in and kept in line by Dawn and Lucas and everyone, Pearl is actually the one DOING the reigning in...he's the one who keeps DIA AND PLATINUM in line! Seriously Pearl acts so much like a parent towards them and that's not good for a 12 year old to be put in that position...😅
surprised you didn't point out how rosa in the games wanted to be a movie star while in the manga she just went out to look for N. Also another difference between serena in the games and manga is that why she's more serious but friendly in the games in the manga she's a hot head (she gets angry easily). And fun fact about the selena in the manga while not out right stated it's heavily implied that she's dawn's sister becaus unlike the games where its stated she came from kanto in the manga she's from shinno and comes from the same rich family dawn came from
For the Rosa being a movie star I didn’t actually know that, for Y you’re right she’s definitely more hot headed and for moon she isn’t Platinums sister the girl she talks about is platinum but she’s not her sister as in the literal term this has been confirmed already to be the case

The portrayals of Platinum and Y are outright night and day when compared to their AniPoké counterparts. Y vs AniPoké Serena moreso than Platinum vs AniPoké Dawn.
