  • An amazing IWB holster for the Bul Armory SAS II Ultralight. TT Gun Leather out of California made this one for my STI Staccato C but it fits the SAS perfectly. Needs to be slightly shorter bt otherwise fits great.

    I just got a SAS II UL with a compensator on it. You think it will fit with the comp? similar to the viper comp.

    Is there enough meat on the main spring housing to bob it? Still waiting on mine to come in. Can you make and post a field strip video of it. I check every day to see if any new videos have been made but theres only about 3 on this gun so far. Have you had any issues with it taking it back to the range? Thanks in advance.

    Evening Jay. I ordered mine a few weeks ago; opted for the grip and flat hammer. Unfortunately it might not arrive until late June or mid July. Crossing my finger that it may arrive earlier! I suppose one cannot rush perfection. I hope to see you at the range in your next video. I want to hear your take on the recoil etc.

    Im on the fence between the STI staccato C2 or the bull Armory SAS 2 ultralight. What are your thoughts how do they compare/Stack Up?

    • @JayMacklin
      @JayMacklin  Před 4 lety

      Michael Marrero so just picked up the C2. They are very close in purpose. The STI is still a better quality build but it’s also $800 more. I have the C and it was surprisingly heavier than the C2. The SAS beats them all in weight. I’m still carrying the SAS more.

      I ordered the sas2 UL shortly after that comment. Ive held the c2 and it was nice but its alot of $.

    Hi Jay! I just picked up the EDC X9 S, what are you using to carry that? I prefer Kydex, anything out there you know of? I have only seen offerings from Wilson... thoughts on that?

    • @JayMacklin

      Great question. I’m a leather guy so I don’t use Kydex but my favorite leather Kydex stiff feel is Pure Kustom leather.

    Great review thanks..Two questions..HOw easy is this gun to shoot, think wife factor. Lol..Is it snappy and jumpy or is there a smooth factor? Second question, have you held the P365 from Sig? How does this gun compare in terms of size, ergo, gerth etc.
    Thanks!

    • @JayMacklin
      @JayMacklin  Před 4 lety

      jc51373 Great question. I also carry a 365XL and I think the 365 is a better gun for my wife. Reason is the grip on the SAS is pretty wide. The SAS has a bit of a snap but I’ve reduced that by using Federal Synthetic ammo for range and defensive. Lately I’ve had some stovepipe issues with the SAS on 115 gr ammo. The 150 grain TSJ runs flawlessly. The kick difference is negligible.

      While I don't (yet) have a BUL, I'm a lefty and have carried a number of 1911s--my current EDC is a Springfield EMP in 9mm. The only thing I've found necessary is an ambi safety, which you can get on the BUL when you order (or, presumably, install an aftermarket piece if needed). I can actuate the mag release just fine with my index finger, and I've never found the need to use the slide release while shooting.

      Michael Marrero funny you say that. Yes! I had a gunsmith look at the mainspring housing and there’s enough meat on it to bob it. You’ll need to get it to a person who can cerakote it once finished but I have a replacement mainspring housing on its way to do this. That’s my only issue so far with it. I’ll record a take down video tomorrow.
