Been watching your videos and finally decided to subscribe! I've been lucky enough to already be in med school for 6 months now, but I am still deciding on a specialty. You don't think you decided kind of late for such a competitive specialty? I thought I was interested in something but now have no idea the more I am exposed to everything, there is so much to like!

I agree. Look at Dr. Mike. He's a family medicine physician and has more prestige than most doctors. Same with Dr. Fauci who specialized in internal medicine after medical school. I am not sure why he put prestige on his list. I know many people outside of medicine and to them, all physicians are the same. As a medical student myself I see primary care as more prestigious than competitive specialties.

I just ordered a vibration plate to workout. Is it safe to use this machine even though I have screws and plates in my right ankle? I had a Tri-fracture in 2012 and chose not to remove the hardware. But will these become a problem if I start using a vibration plate for 15 mins a day at perhaps a high level or the running speed?

How important are your clinical grades for residency?
I want to ask you, my proximal tibia was fractured and gastrocnemius flap also done due to open fracture, so my question will it cause any issue during running or jumping in future?
Hey Dr. Webber, I'm interested in orthopedics too. I just started med school. Can you give us a day in the life of an ortho now that you're not in residency anymore?
What are the career paths that doctors can take after residency?
What research should you do to help you in this track?
What I don't understand is, when you have to decide what residency you want to do at the end of 3rd year, but you're only doing the elective rotations for the specialties you are interested in in 4th year, then what's the point of having them? (You basically decide before you even try)
this is very true, I guess you have to already know but then again you have all of undergrad to shadow doctors of many different types to figure out what you're interested in
I am a year 1 Orthopedics and trauma surgery in AAU.
I'll just ask, do you diagnose problems in the patient let other doctors diagnose the problem while you perform surgery if needed?
some people do general instead of doing subspecialty, is that possible?

Dr.Webb, I am contemplating between joining the army and doing undergrad simultaneously so I can get it paid for or should I just attend a 4 year university instead? Which do you think is best?
That's exactly what I I'm wondering. I'm currently in the process of transitioning to post secondary education.
This. I'd also recommend an administrative rate or AFSC. This will enable you to have more time at home. I'm USCG and our support rates are able to volunteer and go do the cool stuff - boat crew, boarding team member, etc. But don't have to do these things. I'd also recommend Navy/AF over USCG from a TA perspective. The DoD services get nearly double the amount of TA that the USCG does thanks to being in the DHS
