    Good job! One thing I'd like to see is the addition of handles on each side built in to the fenders. When I mow on steep hillsides, it'd be nice to have something to hang on to to keep me upright.

    Nice video, also great to see you giving the 4500 Y the spotlight, everything is about the Z….. you went from a Steiner to Ventrac full bore! Hearing a lot of hype about the Steiner 450, I don’t think I will ever change back myself..

      I love the Ventrac. My Steiner 430 was a great machine. No complants about the 430 at all. I would have kept my 430 before I would ever get a 450. Some people like there 450s, I am just not a fan of them at all. I do not ever see myself going back.

      @@thomaslucas3824 That is good to know. I was curious on when the change was and why. Do you know if they will be changing back after the supply issues? I like how Ventrac is a problem solver to keep the tractors rolling.

      @@thomaslucas3824 Them were changes I was not aware of. I more than likely would not have noticed them changes. Thanks for the information. All of you workers at Ventrac should be proud, You all build a great tractor. I know myself and many others love there maching. I am proud to own one.

    I don’t know if I mentioned it but you can get a turbo for the 4500Y it’s aftermarket. I wouldn’t want it because I love the fuel saving using the diesel.

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Před 2 lety

      I did look into the turbo kits. There was a kit that was not cheap, But from what I read it was the right way to do it. So far I have not had any power issues. Dont get me wrong more power is sometimes always better, But for everything I do it has all the power I need. I agree I love how it sips the fuel as well.

    The question I have which I really want to know, Is there an alternator and battery upgrade

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Před 2 lety

      That is a good question. I am not sure on them specifications. I would say they are the same. My diesel has a 60 amp alternator and the battery always had plenty of juice to crank it over even on the coldest winter days. The Kubota gas has a 60 amp as well. With the new led lights they saved there. I am curious did you have issues with the 60 amp? Even with a cab and heater I feel 60 is a lot especially while running LED lights. Just curious. If I find out the alternator specs I will post them here for you.

      I got them from my dealer. They are offered by Ventrac. They are the same LED lights that come on the rear light kit, But the headlight kit comes with pigtails to plug into the headlight harness. I do not have a part number, But im sure your dealer can get them for you.

    It’s a Mower!!! Nothing more……..The only upgrade on the 4520 is the larger hydro pump……. Everything else talked about is just costing more $$$$ and for sure NOT NEEDED. I own 2ea 4500z models and the ONLY thing I wish that they would address….. is to design a much more robust cooling system. They could make the tractor frame 6” longer and fix the engine cooling issues for summertime dusty operations with a much larger radiator and water pump and larger fan. Oh and and provide a air ride seat option.

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Před 2 lety

      The 4520 has a lot of nice features other than the hydraulics. The hydraulics are the most noticeable improvement tho. The beefed up center link, easy access front cover to change main belt, adding the duel auxiliary hydraulic kit is now way easier, LED headlights come standard. The lifting capability is greater. It is hard to beat a 4500, I feel the 4520 is the same tractor but with improvements and added features like the heated seat option. A air ride seat would not be a bad idea. I feel that the radiator on the 4500 is quite large. The Ventrac holds 7 quarts of coolant where the Steiner 450 Kubota gas and diesel only have a 3.3 quart capacity. Not sure why you are overheating. Maybe the Kubota gas runs hotter than my diesel. Using the tough cut or even mowing my temp usually runs 1 bar and on really hot days 2 bars. I have cottonwood trees all around me. A few weeks ago it was 96 degrees out when I was mowing. The radiator screen was completely packed with cottonwood and grass. Never ran more than 2 bars. I have even took Temps of the radiator and hoses with a infrared thermometer many times and it usually reads 183 to 185 degrees. I have heard after time the radiators can get clogged up with dirt. It may just need a good washing.

    • @genewilliams7497
      @genewilliams7497 Před 2 lety

      My units work on 30 degree slopes all day every day and at the 3200 rpm in very challenging conditions in retention basins mine run two bars normal and as the screen blocks up stop regularly to clean it off. My 4500’s have the radiator fins blown out EVERY DAY with high pressure air and are washed out weekly during mowing season. With heavy use and extended continuous use ( 6-8 hours) the cooling systems just aren’t large enough! Don’t get me wrong I love the unit but they could make a more robust unit and they would sell the hell out of them.

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Před 2 lety

      @@genewilliams7497 Hills definitely make it run harder. You are definitely running way more hours a day than I do. I wish there was a way to clean a pre screen from the seat. More like a screen to filter the air coming thru the fins on the hood before they reach the radiator. It would make it easier for you commercial guys to have less stops to clean it out. Clogging screens were always a issue on the old Steiner 430s as well. With having front mount mowers a lot of the debris come back and sucked in the radiator.
