This is literally life changing. I can swallow so much easier now. My "post nasal drip" soreness is almost gone. My voice is consistently clear. Did you know there's a muscle that connects the hyoid to the shoulder? My shoulder feels great. I have unexplained improvements in my other hypermobillity symptoms. I'm confused but grateful. I'm on day 2 since starting this exercise. The first improvements were immediate, and I continued to notice improvement over the next day. I've had this lump in my throat intermittently for 30-40 years. Doctors always thought it was a lymph node, but if it was, perhaps its drainage was blocked by something connected to the hyoid? Learning all i can about hyoid and neck anatomy now.

Omg THANK YOU!! I had a cervical misalignment that caused the hyoid to go out and caused a lot of discomfort, and my chiropractor couldn't see me right away. This helped a bit. Thank you!

When I move my hyoid with my hand back and forth it pops 2 or 3 little pops each direction is that normal? Also I have a strong belt. I have a hard time with light and airy and in the last few years I have time when my throat gets really tight and painful when I sing other days it's just fine.....any idea why?

I believe that is normal (the pops).
You might be overexerting your vocal cords if you're belting but cannot maintain a light, thin compression.
Compression is when the delicate cords zip up together to vibrate (phonation). No compression will sound airy.
We tend to tighten up unneeded parts of the throat in response to keeping the compression, making it painful. It should never be painful to sing, much like regular speech.
      Hope this helps!
