  • In this video, we're taking you with us as we chase the synchronous fireflies in the Smokies!
Every year around late May or early June, the synchronous fireflies in Great Smoky Mountains National Park flash in unison, putting on a bucket-list-worthy display.
To see this show, most people think you need to attend the official ticketed event (which requires winning an extremely difficult lottery). But that's not true!
Since the fireflies flash for 2-3 weeks and the event is only 8 days, you can view the fireflies before or after the event. No lottery, no permit!
For 4 ways to see the synchronous fireflies in the Smokies WITHOUT A PERMIT, make sure to read my blog post: alexysabroad.com/see-synchron...

Awesome video! Super cool to see the fireflies, I bet the video didn’t do it justice. Did ya see any bears?

Thanks!!! Definitely not - waaaay better in person. And we didn't see any bears this year surprisingly. I feel like we see at least one (sometimes like 15) every time we explore the Smokies 😂
