- Once you've learned the basic movements in the first La Pompe lesson in this series, you're sure to want to take your gypsy jazz accompaniment a step further in a really fun way.
Three free manouche comping lessons are coming your way. Each one gives one great way to use triplets to spice up your accompaniment.

In this lesson, you will learn a very cool embellishment with sliding triplets that will boost your accompaniment and make it sound super and be fun for the soloists you're playing with too!
The basic idea is sliding to your target chord in a triplet rhythm. You'll learn to use this idea over two well-known and popular jazz/gypsy jazz standards - Minor Swing and All of Me.
As an exercise, I suggest you go through the changes on these songs and implement this embellishment on every chord. Then, when you're really playing, you can just throw it in here and there. Of course, once you've got this idea down pat, you can use it over any jazz tune you like.

Very great teacher
Thank you very much!
Like opening the curtains and letting the light in.. Thank you. 😊
So glad to hear it! You're welcome!
These are nice well thought out lessons! I haven't played guitar in many years, then my daughter wanted me to teach her the guitar. I asked what she wanted to play and the first thing she says is Minor Swing. She says she's not yet ready for video so I'm doing my best to absorb what you are teaching and it really helps. These are the best lessons I've seen online for this style - keep up the good work!
That's awesome! Wishing you and your daughter success and lots of fun learning and playing together!
Vous étez un éxcéllent professeur. mercie beaucoup pour les merveilleuses lessons que vous donnez.
Now I can play the Addams Family theme! A neat trick, but also a valuable way of improving my right/left hand coordination. And hitting the 1 with the upstroke was the subtle point I missed first time.
Good thinking! Expand your mind!
Been practicing the basic La Pompe, this of course is more difficult. so more practice is required. Thanks
You can do it!
It’s certain you get one step more compared to most part of teachers, you are very pratical and very didacticol way to Well explain, very thanks from Italy 👏👏
