Chorkor thanks for your informative videos. Let me assist in answering this question because the right answer hasn't been answered very well. A simple answer is that you can apply for a Canadian study permit from inside Canada even if you are on a visitor Visa. Note the condition and process next: If the applicant is not on the IRCC list of '' the people who are eligible to apply from inside Canada '', the person must follow the process IRCC outlined for ''' Study permit Application Made Outside of Canada'. That's the process to follow in the online application portal. After successful Visa approval decision, IRCC will request for your passport which the applicant will courier to IRCC Ottawa for a Student Visa stamp and a issuance of POE Letter of Introduction. Lastly, with the student stamp passport and the POE letter in hand, the applicant will have to flagpole to process the study permit approval at the Port of Entry. That's the honest answer. I hope this information helps someone in need of it.

You're better off applying the study route. If you don't want that way, then get a work permit. It's better than getting a visitors visa and then having to change status because they are soon going to close that option, and you're definitely going to pay way more money.

The policy extension to be able to change visit visa to work permit for LMIA expires In Feb 28th, 2025. Afterwards you can't change it while still in Canada, you have to leave and apply while outside. But if they extend the policy again like they did in 2023, then you can travel in 2026 and try your luck changing your visa while still in Canada.

I think you ll need a latter from UNHCR and tell them you can afford your flight … as a refugee you can not apply yourself without that letter , if things went well you ll get your PR in Canada after approval… 🎉
