Thanks for the question, it came off easily as it just breaks like Styrofoam. Although there is a bit of residue that's does stick to the surface. I just used putty knife to scrap the residue, leaving the surface flat. Some of it did remain but it doesn't affect laying down thin set. Good luck!
How did the great stuff come off of the membrane? Looking for a clean removal once tested and curious

Thanks for the question, the spray can is Great Stuff spray foam insulation.
How did the great stuff come off? We are in the same boat, but a different product than hydroban.

I ended up creating a dam like the video but used silicone instead. Got the job done and passed the inspection.
