    I'm watching this on my own GL502. I've had it for like 5 years, and it's still rocking!
    Having said that, mine is an updated version (even though it's the same model code), and it has a GTX 1070. I was pretty happy when I got my hands on it.

    • @carlosfer2201
      @carlosfer2201 Před rokem +1

      @@TheZero64 it's a 6th Gen i7. Don't have it on me now for the exact code.
      I don't think it's ever gotten too hot. But when I had it cleaned, the guy put thermic paste again and recommended me to use one of those fans you put under it.
      But generally speaking I've been able to game for a few hours no problem (GTA5 for example) . Never saw slow down due to temperature.

      Daniel Tam there are tendencies in which when you play a particular game for a certain amount of time the laptop could overheat to the point where you wouldn’t want it on your lap. But I find this normal because first it’s a powerful gaming laptop and the only reason why the temperature rises is probably because the settings is set to Ultra

    • @CheewiiBlue
      @CheewiiBlue Před 8 lety +12

      I don't understand when people complain about this. You're buying the laptop to use as a computer, not a shield. Who cares if it flexes, it's not like that's going to make your GPU throttle or R/W speeds drop. And if you're talking durability: unless you're literally Edward Scissorhands and you're planning to drop this laptop everywhere, you should probably be more worried about the durability of the electronics inside. Besides, flex isn't necessarily bad. It absorbs shocks better, instead of transferring that energy into vital electronic components.

    Hey Dave, I think you should start adding rating systems to your reviews, especially for better quality/performance laptops

    I just pre-ordered the GTX 980m version. Perhaps when that comes out you can review it as it will be a pretty slim (exact same dimensions) laptop carrying at more advanced GPU. Great review, always love your stuff, you're my first stop when it comes to tech stuff haha.

    Thanks ! Great review, the GL502 looks like a great purchase; and i`m definitely in the market for a gaming laptop that's relatively slim (as opposed to the GTX 980M SLI monsters you see) but it's summer time and that means spending less time playing games; so I can wait till laptop manufacturers refresh their gaming laptop offerings with Nvidia Pascal GPU's now that we have the 1070/1080 desktop GPU's. Don't feel like it's worth buying a laptop now with the old Maxwell GPU's if you can hold out for a few more months.

    I had a lenovo y510p i7 and the motherboard died in less than a year of use. And took very good care of it. I even left the keyboard cover that it came with on. so I was looking to get this. thanks for the review video.

    hey Dave great video but I think giving us the prices for different countries would add more quality to ur videos. For example in Canada this is sold around 2.5k Canadian currency and etc. Not hate just constructive feedback. thx and keep up the food work.

    Great videos man, love your content.I need a bit of advice: I'm finishing school next year and I need a powerful machine to do design work and architectural rendering, and my immediate thought was a monolithic laptop that can do that, but experience has taught me otherwise and I'm considering a desktop, probably an Alienware Area 51or x51, then I could probably even get a decent tablet or transforming laptop only for presentations. Thoughts?
