      I woult rather get 2.0L diesel and automatic, 1.6L is bit weak bcs no power under 2000 or 2500 rpm, you have to shift down.

      Daniel 1 I have the older 2 litre 163 bhp diesel. Still very good on fuel but I’ve heard the 2 litre 170 bhp engine is a lot thirstier as it’s a bi-turbo.
      Also even this 1.6 is thirstier than an Octavia 2 litre diesel which has nearly as much space.

    • @daveb0789
      @daveb0789 Před 4 lety

      Marko D13 you’re right I got confused with BMW’s 2 litre diesel. Nevertheless it’s got an electronic actuator making the turbo spool up quicker and more torque so it was always going to use more fuel than the 163 bhp A20dth engine. I think the Octavia comparison is valid - they both have similar boot and similar space inside.

      @@daveb0789 The BMW 2 litre is not twin turbo either, it's twin scroll turbo. Single turbo.

    I tested this engine in an Opel Astra of my work. It seems to me a grest engine although a little bit worst than the 1.6 Dci of Renault. Moving the Insignia, offers good perfirmances and consumption. A great car and a great review!!!!

    • @TESTDRIVEFREAK
      @TESTDRIVEFREAK  Před 4 lety +1

      But for insignia is bit weak with 1.6L diesel, almost no torque below 2000 or 2500 rpm, better 2.0L and automatic, manual transmission was not so good for me, astra was bit better

    Das ist leider der Kettenmotor, der gerne mal kaputt geht, weil die Kette ueberspringt. Das Problem, die Kette ist Getriebeseitig verbaut, ein Wechsel ist nur mit Ausbau des Motors möglich und somit teuer.
