I have a bp machine named "standard bp care". It works on batteries when switching it on but now it's pumping ( basically it's running direct without on/off button) so I have to remove batteries. The screen is working when I switch it on and the display works but it can't take the reading and shows an error, what could be the fault ?( It keeps working even if it's switched off so the only way to stop is to remove batteries)

Hi Syifa, Yes, the cuff itself has pressure sensor. In nut shell on technology - The turbulent blood flow causes vibrations of the artery wall, the maximum of which correlates with what is known as ‘mean arterial pressure’, or ‘MAP’. These vibrations are detected by the sensors in the arm cuff. If the cuff pressure, in turn, falls below the diastolic pressure, they come to a virtual standstill.

Hi Michael, When the battery goes low there is a low battery indicator on screen which is like blinking battery symbol or battery with cross. When you notice this then it indicates time to have new batteries.
If E1 error: due to cuff being too loose because it is harder to wrap it properly around the RIGHT arm => then store cuff in a *tightly* wound shape so that it *naturally* takes on a smaller (diam) shape.
Hi Frank, Er appears when the monitor has malfunctioned. Press the [START/STOP] button again. If “Er” still appears, contact your OMRON retail outlet or distributor. E2 appears or a measurement cannot be completed after the arm cuff inflates. This is because when you move or talk during a measurement and the arm cuff does not inflate sufficiently. The other reason could be due to the systolic pressure is above 210 mmHg, a measurement cannot be taken. To rectify remain still and do not talk during a measurement. If “E2” appears repeatedly, inflate the arm cuff manually until the systolic pressure is 30 to 40 mmHg above your previous readings. E3 appers when the arm cuff is inflated exceeding the maximum allowable pressure. Do not touch the arm cuff and/or bend the air tube while taking a measurement.
Hi, Sometimes the error displayed is combination of malfunctions. Can you try fixing all errors from E1 to E5. This often helps to resolve issue. In case nothing works then the chances are the cuff is broken. The cuff alone can be purchased separate. Try using a different cuff before buying.

Hi Harika, Not all devices have manual inflating option. This function can be only used if there is inflation bulb to inflate the cuff. If you don't have manual inflate option with your device and if this error appears then please restart test again. If this error repeatedly continues then there is some issue with electronics and device may require servicing.

Hi Santosh, If the errors are 2 and 5 separate then I would recommend to follow remedials as shown in this video. As I know Omron devices doesn't show Error 25. This could be because of low battery also. So try changing battery once. Hope this helps.

Hi Shashank, can you pls confirm if it is Omron device because it has error until 5 only. If it’s an Omron device then there seems to be a display issue showing wrong code which is between 1-5.

Hi Janhvi, Looks like the On/Off button is broken and needs to be fixed. Basically the pumping should only start when you press On button.

Hi, No it cannot be done. You need to purchase a new smaller size hand cuff which is suitable for your arm.
