    Very good advice. I am a flight attendant at a Major United States Airline. I will say that never, at any US Airline I have ever interviewed with was I asked for a CV or a Photo. I believe photos by law are not allowed in the United States for interviewing practices. I was always asked for a resume but never ever asked for a photo. Hope this is helpful to some of the applicants. Everything else she said is on point though even at US Airlines.

      Hey Jeremy, thanks for watching and for your contribution. It is true that in the US the rules are different, however in the Middle East, the photos are still a compulsory part of the recruitment process. It might change in the future but we aren't there yet :) ... Take care for now and blue skies!

    grooming and clothing is always so stressed and you mentioned it among top mistakes, but again i have to mention my QR open day experience; there were people completely totally in an unappropriate dress like disco clothes, casual, free time, party, tons of jewelery, hair not tied up, jeans, very short skirts, really high high heels etc list goes on. Not all, but some of these passed all stages and even got the final interview. i was in complete shock. how was that even possible???

    • @CabinCrewExcellence
      @CabinCrewExcellence  Před 9 lety +5

      Hi winter july, we have seen such cases and also mentioned it in the Qatar Airways Open Day Review video we posted recently. Unfortunately, sometimes the recruiters don't stick to the dress code required by the airline itself and candidates like those you mention (and we've seen) fall through the net and get selected in the early stages of the recruitment. We still encourage our students not to lower their standards and level of professionalism and always be impeccably groomed and perfectly presented. In the long run, it will serve you better than showing up to an interview wearing completely inappropriate clothing.

      Wt a shit company, they even chose a people who is not dressed good or shaved beard, weird.
      I applied for emirates and from first time i got the job. Its better, we were 520 persons and i stayed for the last 5.thats great. And here we go am flying with Emirates now.

    Hi! dear Monica and Simona! i just love to watch your videos! I have a couple of questions about the process with QATAR that still didn't get solved. I failed twice at the same part of the Assessment Day which was the reach test when they also tell you to talk about a random topic and declare tattoos and moles..
    All I did was to put the best words I could find to talk about my topic. I don't know if maybe I said too much information about a single thing, but I left the room feeling nice, like I was great. That was about being a cabin crew which is something I love. I tried to put passion into it, talked about honoring the uniform and being reliable, but even so.. I was not invited for the next step. I wonder if they expect to hear just like... a professional trained to operate inside of the aircraft, and that's it. :(
    Would you mind talking a little bit about what posture they are expecting the candidate to have? is this the moment to talk beautiful in English or just being simple and don't worry much about impressing the recruiters? I really get confused on what they are really observing. I push myself to look professional and determined but I can never go to the final! I'm so disappointed and I come to think that I want this so hard but still they don't see me as one who fits in.
    There was this other AD when I didn't take my time to show them I was worth it and i thought that was the problem in my first try, i was not noticed in any way so i started to study and work my confidence but to smile and being myself didn't change a thing.
    Also, i've got very tiny moles. And that's exactly what I told them: I have tiny moles around. They started to investigate me in a very unexpected way. Should I choose one of my moles and very soon declare it to end up the conversation and avoid feeling nervous?
    my moles are brown spots on my arm and one near my ear. I'm thinking about taking them off before trying again.
    I appreciate your time and willing to help everyone! thanks in advance!
    with love
    Kathleen

    Hello! I have my hair in a bob hairstyle. It is a little bit shorter than yours in this video. I am able to put it in a ponytail but it is a really short one and cannot be a bun or donut. I have heard about the rule of thumb 'If your hair does not touch your shoulders you can wear it down" however I was curious what would be your advice on how to wear my hair on the open day (and hopefully assessment day and interview)? Straight down bob, sleeked back or in a tiny ponytail? Thank you.

    • @CabinCrewExcellence
      @CabinCrewExcellence  Před 8 lety +1

      HI Lilyana, you can have it however you feel most comfortable. When we feel good, we perform better so it is important that you look and feel good. As long as it is styled neatly, away from your face so as to not cover your forehead or cheeks (that can potentially make the recruiters wonder if you're concealing a possible scar/birthmark), you should be fine. Best of luck! ;)

      Not positive at all, unfortunately, Simone :) They have a strict "no tattoo" policy for their cabin crew. Emirates and Etihad are somewhat tolerant though. With them, as long as your tattoos are not visible while wearing their uniform, you're good to go.

    One question ... Do you think it's a good idea to for me to go to the OD with a beige business attire ? Similar color as the Emirates' uniform ? Or I should go black or blue?
    And Is it usual that you use the same outfit for the OD, AD and FI? I 've read it in so many places but doesn't it look like you're a little bit dirty or something... = P

      @thejetstarjump Před 8 lety

      +Eira Forero Pou Don't stress over colour. You won't be turned away because you chose an outfit similiar to another airline (with so many around the world there's literally no colour you can choose that's safe). Just focus on looking professional and well groomed.

    Hello! I had the chance to attend an open day with Qatar airways three months ago and luckily I was in!....After I was accepted I had to fill up a form online and finish the whole procedure...The thing is I found out I have cancer and I couldn't upload my photos, I wanted to upload them after I'm fully cured... but the thing is I still get emails from Qatar airways to upload my photos and I can't do so for the moment because I just underwent a surgery and I will be undergoing chemotherapy for about 6 months. Now I have a very visible scar in my belly and I will lose my hair very soon ...I don't know what should I be doing or what I should do! do you have any advice for me? do you think I should contact them and let them know about my illness? HELP please!

      Hi Fatima, we are very sorry indeed to hear about your news! We wish you speedy healing and we are sending you our best wishes to have strength during this difficult period! For Qatar Airways, we would encourage you to not stay quiet. If you are not comfortable disclosing your situation to them, it is still good to say that due to personal problems that have developed after your Final Interview, you are unable to join the airline at this stage. It is always good to keep an open door in case you decide to apply later on. Blessings of love and light! ❤️

      +Eduardo L Try to find out the visa restrictions for the country Qatar. The airline itself may not have an issue with age, but some countries don't offer work visas for ages 31 and up. If that is the case for Qatar then the airline can't accept you.

      Asila V you have the sole right to know about the salary, only, once job is offered to you. Whether u like it or not, the employer doesn't want to employ someone who wants to know benefits they get. Quiet unfortunately you have to bite the bullet.
