My family vacationed in Val Verde, a couple of times in the late 1950s. My brother Sherman, and I were very young at the time. I didn't know then, that it was reserved for black's only. I just knew that it was a great place for kids, swimming, horseback riding, and hiking . I have good memories of Val Verde, Mom and Pops, my brother, and my Grandmother. It was so nice being in the country. We also went to Catalina, for three days, and two nights.
